Chapter 80 - Odin’s Steadfastness

Far from the chaos raging across every corner of the world, on the island of Asgard, distant from all that devastation, an eerie calm blanketed the land— as if the island were isolated from the noise of the world and its suffering.

Inside one of the island's houses, Odin sat with his siblings, gathered around him within his home. They were engaged in a serious discussion about what Poseidon had told them, and what should be done about that dangerous matter.

Their faces were grim, the atmosphere heavy with tension. The words spoken moments ago were no ordinary ones; they carried a threat that could change everything.

Athena was the first to break the silence. She fixed Poseidon with sharp eyes and said in a serious tone:

— Are you certain about how dangerous this matter is, Poseidon? Is it truly powerful enough to threaten our very existence?

As soon as Athena spoke, both she and Hades turned toward Poseidon, staring at him with intense seriousness, as if awaiting an answer that allowed no hesitation.

Poseidon responded quickly, his voice firm and decisive:

— Yes, my sister. It truly is that dangerous… as if a massive mountain were about to collapse upon us from the depths of the ocean.

At that moment, Odin intervened, attempting to calm his siblings. He spoke in a commanding tone that allowed no argument:

— Enough. I have already told you what our father ordered me to do in order to help him control the child of the Giants. That must be our priority. As for the danger Poseidon mentioned, I will speak with our father about it once we finish what we were commanded to do and carry out the plan to control that child.

When Athena heard her brother's words—and the authoritative tone devoid of fear or concern—she looked at him with clear surprise and asked:

— Do you truly know the source of this danger, Odin?

No sooner had she spoken than Poseidon added anxiously, his worry still unresolved:

— Do you know the source of the danger, brother? What is it? Where does this terrifying power come from?

Odin sighed deeply before answering, as though gathering his thoughts, then said:

— What could possibly make others focus on this island, so far removed from the rest of the world, my brothers? What exists here that could attract anyone's attention?

The moment Odin said this, Hades immediately understood his meaning. His eyes widened slightly as he said:

— The Giants… is that it, brother?

Odin nodded in confirmation and replied:

— Yes, brother. From my perspective, that is the only reason anyone would take interest in this island and monitor it. Don't you think so, my brothers?

Silence followed for a brief moment before Odin spoke again, clearly intent on ending the discussion swiftly:

— Now that we have explained everything, you must go and prepare yourselves. We must be ready to take control of that child.

The moment he said this, Athena and her siblings suddenly found themselves outside Odin's house— as if they had been expelled without warning.

Athena looked up at the sky and said with an awkward smile that barely concealed her irritation:

— Haha… do you see? It seems the weather is quite nice today, my brothers. Farewell.

Hades looked at his sister in surprise, sensing her embarrassment at being thrown out. He shook his head mockingly, then turned to Poseidon and said:

— Are you going to run away out of embarrassment too, brother?

Poseidon glanced at him with boredom, patted Hades on the shoulder, and said:

— Brother, go to your daughter now and congratulate her on her new power. And prepare yourself so we may carry out our father's orders regarding that child.

Hades sensed that Poseidon's tone still carried lingering concern about the danger he had felt. Laughing to lighten the mood, he said:

— Very well, brother. And you—go find your young sons and train them to awaken their power… just as I did.

Poseidon reacted with obvious surprise, raising his eyebrows as he exclaimed:

— What are you saying? Are you the one who made your eldest daughter awaken her power? You liar!

Hades mocked him as he walked away with confident strides, speaking with arrogance and certainty:

— Yes, I am the reason. Isn't she of my blood? I am the cause… she is of my blood, you fool.

Poseidon felt anger surge through him. He clenched his fists and shouted furiously:

— My eldest son will surpass your daughter, you bastard! You'll see it with your own eyes!

With that, Poseidon rushed off, searching for his son so he could begin training him to awaken his power.

Hades turned and watched his brother disappear, then shook his head with mild sarcasm:

— What an idiot… he forgot his worries in a single second.

As he said this, a joyful smile formed on Hades' face—one born of happiness for his brother, whose concern had finally faded. Straightening his posture, he prepared to seek out his daughter, to congratulate her and explain the danger of her power and how carefully it must be used.

Once Odin saw that his siblings had departed, he quickly went to his bed and sat down. He lay back, closed his eyes, and used his power.

The only thing he heard was a single sentence, spoken in his father's deep voice:

— Do not concern yourselves with the danger in the depths of the ocean. Focus only on the child, Odin.

Odin tried to speak to his father, hoping to learn more about the matter, but he could not. He sensed that his father was gathering and conserving his energy, preparing to use it to control the child of the Giants.

Odin awakened, rose from his bed, and exited his home. As soon as he stepped outside, the winds carried him away from the mountain he lived upon, hurling him toward the coast at tremendous speed—far beyond what mortal eyes could perceive.

Standing upon the shore, Odin's eyes glowed strangely, and his white hair shone with an ominous brilliance. He raised his hand toward the sky and declared in a commanding voice:

— Go, my friend, to the continent of Mira and bring me news.

From his shadow burst a grotesque raven, terrifying in appearance, its aura alone enough to frighten even the mightiest warriors.

Odin looked at the raven and added:

— Go to the continent of Mira. If you cannot, then go to the Demonic Continent. That should be easier for you, my friend.

Hearing his master's command, the raven immediately took flight, soaring high into the sky.

Odin watched it go, murmuring quietly:

— We must be cautious… and learn who truly controls the powers of this world, so we do not make mistakes in the future.

As he spoke, he realized that the words and concern he had seen on his brothers' faces had truly affected him, prompting him to take precautions as well. The clearest proof of that was sending the raven to gather information.

Odin let out a quiet laugh at himself. He had spoken with great courage before his brothers—yet it seemed he was the most cautious among them. He pondered this briefly, then suddenly inspiration struck, and he said confidently:

— So… that is why I am the ruler of Asgard.
