Roy's gaze swept across the desolate landscape within Wall Maria. The houses were in ruins, and the land was devoid of any human presence. It had been an entire year since he was last here.
After Bertholdt and Reiner broke through the wall, pure titans flooded in, forcing the humans within to flee to the inner districts. It was then that he and Ryuu had descended, slaying Annie Leonhart and securing the "Series B investment" for his own rise to power.
While Tione and Tiona were busy hunting pure titans, Roy didn't remain idle. He began his incantation: "O forest firmament now far away. O infinite stars embedded in the endless night sky—"
The pure titans there were simply not enough to satisfy their hunt. Fifteen-meter titans were rare, and the smaller ones provided negligible rewards. Roy's target was the wall itself—or more accurately, the Colossus Titans that formed it.
The three walls on this island were all constructed by King Fritz using the power of the Founding Titan, controlling a multitude of Colossus Titans to build them. He called it "enjoying the final peace," but in reality, it was a ticking time bomb left for future generations.
"—Bright Wind!"
As Roy finished his chant, dense spheres of emerald light materialized around him, bombarding the wall like a torrential downpour.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
The wall was blasted apart, revealing the Colossus Titan hidden within. Its wide, staring eyes looked down at Roy, Tione, and Tiona, who appeared like mere ants before it.
"So there really are monsters inside the walls!" Tiona gasped.
"It's huge!" Tione remarked, looking up.
The thickness of the wall couldn't block the acute senses of Level 3 adventurers as they looked up at the fifty-meter-tall Colossus Titan. In comparison, their human frames were no different from insects.
THOOM!
The Colossus Titan moved. It lifted its massive foot and stomped heavily onto the ground, causing the earth to tremble and debris to fly. It consumed its own muscle mass to erupt in a rolling heatwave that surged outward like a violent tide.
The gushing heat completely enveloped the three of them.
"Hot, hot, hot! It's scorching!"
"Dammit!"
"Captain, can we take this thing down?!"
Tione and Tiona's wheat-toned skin turned slightly red as they glared at the Colossus Titan in frustration.
"You can," Roy replied calmly.
With Level 4 Endurance and a G-rank Abnormal Resistance parameter, Roy could stay submerged in strong acid for three minutes and come out unscathed. This level of thermal exposure failed to register as an actual threat.
With Roy's permission, the two sisters charged forward simultaneously.
The Colossus Titan's long arm was capable of reaching the ground. Its broad palm pressed down like a divine judgment, casting a massive shadow over them. However, its sluggish speed was trivial to Level 3 adventurers.
"Too slow!" Tiona laughed.
Her small hands gripped the Great Twin Blade: Urga as she spun. The blade, which cut through iron as if it were butter, easily shredded the Colossus Titan's hand like a meat grinder.
Tione leaped into the air, landing on the back of the titan's hand and sprinting up its arm. She endured the surrounding heat, the searing pain only fueling the ruthlessness in her bones. Her movement was like a flash of lightning.
Tione climbed rapidly, circling behind the Colossus Titan's neck. Her Silver Moon Curves slashed violently across the nape. Blood erupted, drenching her until she was covered in red.
CRASH!
The Colossus Titan collapsed.
Roy multi-tasked, using magic to shatter the walls and release the Colossus Titans for Tione and Tiona to hunt, while simultaneously checking the dungeon quests. These pure titans offered too little improvement for him, so he left them for the sisters. He planned to take out the group of Shifters all at once—that would grant him 1,000 attribute points.
The condition to return was hunting 100 pure titans, which wasn't difficult to achieve. Roy led Tione and Tiona, traveling between the two worlds to increase their status.
The pure titans were nearly hunted to extinction, and about half of Wall Maria had been destroyed by the fifth day when they encountered new guests.
Rumble!
Dust billowed in the distance as hundreds of people on horseback galloped toward them. Their cloaks bore the emblem of the "Wings of Freedom."
"Wall Maria has collapsed?"
"There are Colossus Titans inside!"
When they saw the empty landscape where the wall that once protected them had vanished—leaving a Colossus Titan partially trapped within the remaining structure—the members of the Survey Corps were struck with utter shock.
"Don't move!"
The Survey Corps soldiers quickly noticed Roy, Tione, and Tiona, drawing their blades.
Seeing the blades shimmering in the sunlight, Tione's face twisted into an arrogant smirk. "Captain, can I just kill all these guys?"
Roy patted her head and said softly, "Don't be so violent. We still need them to find our next target."
Tione immediately became as obedient as a kitten. "Since the Captain says so, I'll endure it."
"Lower your weapons!"
A commanding voice rang out. A tall, blonde man stepped forward—Erwin Smith, Commander of the Survey Corps. Behind him followed Levi Ackerman, Hange Zoe, and others.
Only then did the soldiers lower their weapons, though their faces remained wary.
Now that the main players had arrived, Roy turned his gaze toward Erwin and his group. Being able to reach this place only five days after he started destroying Wall Maria spoke volumes about their efficiency. They truly were the most courageous people within the walls.
Erwin asked, "Who are you people? And what happened to Wall Maria?"
"Who we are isn't important. If you want to know the truth of the world, follow us," Roy said with a smile, turning to leave with Tione and Tiona.
The surrounding soldiers hesitated and tried to block them, but the three of them released a fraction of their powerful aura, forcing the soldiers to retreat. In the eyes of the onlookers, the trio was no different from a natural disaster, radiating an aura of extreme danger.
Even Levi, the strongest human in this world, looked solemn, his muscles tensed to the limit.
Hange lowered her voice and asked the short man, "Levi, can you take them?"
Levi replied flatly, "I'd be killed in an instant."
Hange's lip twitched. If Levi made that judgment, there was no doubt about it—the boy and the two girls were monsters among monsters.
Erwin and the others exchanged looks and eventually chose to follow Roy quietly. Roy wasn't surprised; if they were that foolish, he wouldn't have wasted his time.
No one else dared to get close to the trio except for the naturally social Hange, who rushed forward with enthusiasm. "Did you kill all the titans outside the walls? That's incredible! Exactly how many did you kill?"
The Survey Corps members looked on helplessly. They were afraid of provoking the strangers, but their Section Commander always lost control whenever titans were involved.
Roy's response, however, was unexpectedly pleasant. "Around three thousand, I'd say."
Tione and Tiona had already maxed out their attribute points. They both had great potential, with most stats reaching A-rank and Strength reaching S-rank, though their Magic was slightly lacking. Tione's Magic was B-rank, while Tiona hadn't awakened any magic, leaving her at the lowest I-rank.
Once Roy maxed out his own attributes, his mission in this world would be complete.
Three thousand!
The number sent a shockwave through everyone's hearts. In the Survey Corps, a soldier who had killed over a dozen titans was considered the elite of the elite. If anyone else had said this, they wouldn't have believed it for a second, but everything they had seen along the way forced them to accept it. Since they set out, the number of titans they encountered was pitifully small. This was the easiest expedition they had ever had.
"You guys are amazing!" Hange's praise was overflowing. Even Tione and Tiona felt a bit embarrassed by her intensity.
The innocent Tiona, in particular, had a great time chatting with Hange, swinging her Urga and vividly describing how she slaughtered the titans.
"What an exaggeratedly large sword! Can I hold it?" Hange's eyes sparkled at the sight of the double-bladed weapon.
"Sure!" Tiona handed Urga over as if she were lending a toy to a friend.
Hange reached out with both hands to catch it. As soon as Tiona let go, a terrifying weight crashed down.
Bang!
Hange couldn't hold it at all. Urga slammed into the ground, its sharp blade easily splitting the earth, creating a crack three or four meters long. Hange used every ounce of her strength just to budge the sword slightly. Panting, she finally gave up. "No way... I can't handle this thing."
"Haha! The Captain gave this to me," Tiona said, picking up the massive sword once again.
The eyes of the Survey Corps members widened in shock. Just how heavy was that sword? And look at Tiona—her slender arms handled that giant blade like it was a toy.
After that little episode, the group continued forward, but the hearts of the Survey Corps were heavy with complex emotions, looking at the three as if they were gods.
During their conversation, Hange realized Roy was the core of the trio. She pointed into the distance and asked with disbelief, "Young man, why is that giant titan embedded inside the wall?"
Roy knew Hange was fishing for intel, but he didn't mind. "The three walls that protect you are all made of those Colossus Titans. We just broke the outer layer to let them see the light of day again."
The Survey Corps members were shaken to their core. Roy's words overturned their entire worldview. The walls that had confined them were actually made of the very monsters they feared. How could anyone accept such a truth?
"We're here."
Erwin gave a look. Just as Hange wanted to ask for more details, Roy's voice cut in. During their talk, the group had already crossed the streets to Eren's house. It wasn't hard to find, using a massive boulder fragment—thrown by Bertholdt when he broke the wall—as a landmark.
They entered the basement, not needing a key; they simply forced the door open. In a hidden compartment of a desk, they found the journals left by Grisha Yeager.
Roy pushed the journals toward them. "Take them. Everything you want to know is inside."
Erwin's face remained composed, but his slightly trembling hands betrayed his inner turmoil. He slowly reached out and opened the journal. The life experiences of a man named Grisha and the truth of the entire world were laid bare before them.
