Roar!
The Lightning Beasts summoned by Roy let out earth-shaking roars and charged forward, crushing everything in their path like a golden tide. Each beast was larger than a full-grown lion or tiger, majestic and awe-inspiring, crackling with golden electricity and boasting Level 3 stats.
These beasts ravaged the Kingdom's army mercilessly.
Swift as lightning, they flashed by, claiming the lives of three or four warriors in an instant. Blood splattered, and severed limbs flew through the air. These warriors, blessed with Falna, who usually strutted arrogantly before ordinary people, were now being butchered.
The entire battlefield was dominated by Roy's trio. The army of thousands was suffocating under their pressure.
"Huh?"
God Ares's jaw dropped. Perhaps his title as "God of War" should be handed over to Roy.
The two Knight Commanders who had fled back wanted to cry but had no tears left. Why did we have to provoke that lunatic?!
Boom!
While controlling the Lightning Beasts, Roy personally joined the fray. With a simple punch, the terrifying force shook the surrounding air. His fist struck a soldier's heavy armor like steel clashing, producing a dull, heart-trembling thud.
The immense force sent the soldier flying uncontrollably, knocking down dozens more in a straight line. Continuous screams pierced the sky.
Looking like an avatar of war, Roy swept his sharp gaze across the field. Nearby soldiers were so terrified they stumbled backward; some even collapsed to the ground, paralyzed, daring not to meet his eyes.
He rampaged freely, his overwhelming power suppressing everything.
Not everyone was cowed by Roy. A middle-aged man clad in full silver armor charged out. His moves were fierce as he wielded a massive broadsword, decapitating two Lightning Beasts in a striking display of skill.
But before the soldiers could cheer...
The slain beasts dissolved into golden lightning snakes that slithered up the blade, spreading over his entire body.
Zzzzt! Zzzzt! Zzzzt!
Countless tiny electric snakes attached to his surface, opening their maws to bite into the middle-aged man's body. He let out a low groan of pain.
"Bastard!"
The middle-aged man fell to one knee, then roared and forced himself to stand up.
Immediately after, he charged fiercely at Roy.
The two clashed instantly, weapons meeting.
The middle-aged man gripped his broadsword with both hands, trying to overpower Roy. His ferocious, bloodshot tiger-eyes glared fixedly at him. "Justice Bud! How dare you rebel against the Kingdom? You and your family will be executed!"
Compared to the furious, bear-like middle-aged man, Roy's eyes were as calm as still water.
"Try it if you can." A crazed smile curled on Roy's lips.
With that, the muscles in Roy's legs tensed. He took a step forward, pouring strength into the weapon formed by his lightning magic, forcing his opponent to retreat continuously.
"Hmm?"
A moment later, a trace of surprise flashed in Roy's eyes. This middle-aged man actually had Level 4 strength. No wonder he could kill the Lightning Beasts.
"Your name?"
"Commander of the Royal Capital Knights—Cooper Olson!" the middle-aged man stated coldly.
"So it's you."
Understanding dawned in Roy's eyes.
Having lived in the village for over a decade, he was no stranger to this name. Cooper Olson was one of the few Level 4 powerhouses in the Kingdom of Rakia, possessing a resounding reputation. Leveling up was no easy feat.
Roy knew clearly that a large part of his rapid growth in the early stages was thanks to Ryu—helping him kill monsters, training his combat skills, and teaching him magic. Being power-leveled by a Level 4 adventurer... how many Level 1 trash mobs got that kind of special treatment?
In Orario, half the adventurers struggled at Level 1, let alone outside the city.
Looking across the entire Kingdom, there were only two or three Level 4 powerhouses. They were national treasures. Cooper Olson was the idol of countless knights and guards nationwide, the goal many strove to reach.
However, Roy's feelings were somewhat complex.
He blocked the force Cooper Olson put into his broadsword with just one hand.
The name I grew up hearing... is actually this weak!
Or rather, it wasn't that his opponent was weak, but that Roy was too strong! Maxed stats from Level 1 to Level 3, broken limits on Endurance at Level 4, and maxed Dexterity.
Even relying solely on stats, he was an invincible existence among Level 4 adventurers.
If he used his Development Abilities, Skills, Magic, and Equipment... his upper limit was the strike that one-shot a Variant Floor Boss, and his lower limit was fighting toe-to-toe with top-tier Level 5 adventurers.
Don't forget, he also had the Synchro Contract!
As Roy increased his strength, Cooper Olson's knees gradually bent, his face filling with horror.
"Hah!"
Cooper Olson roared, blood bursting from the web of his thumb. He diverted the force, spun his body, and attempted to flank Roy to attack from behind.
But in Roy's eyes, his movements and techniques were riddled with openings—too many to count.
Adventurers trained in Orario were completely different from those outside. The former risked their lives daily in the Dungeon; the intensity of monsters and the dangers encountered far exceeded those on the surface.
Plus, there was the four hours of thousand-fold speed swordsmanship training.
Even learning just the basics from Goddess Astrea was enough to benefit Roy for a lifetime.
Skill: Heretic Slayer!
A layer of silver light coated Cooper Olson's broadsword. When fighting rebels against the Kingdom, his Strength attribute increased, and his weapon's attack power was boosted.
The broad blade slashed through the air, chopping toward Roy.
Boom!
Golden lightning surged from Roy's palm, forming a gauntlet that wrapped around his hand. He grabbed the incoming blade, clamping down like an iron pincer. Under the immense pressure, the ground beneath them caved in, cracks spreading wildly in all directions.
But Roy didn't move an inch.
The sharp blade couldn't harm his palm, nor could it force him back a single step.
Cooper Olson's pupils dilated. He had anticipated several possibilities, but never this result.
Is the gap really this big?
Is this an Orario adventurer?!
A trace of regret surfaced in Cooper Olson's heart. If he hadn't stayed in the Kingdom back then but had gone to Orario to become an adventurer instead, would he be as strong as Roy? But there are no "ifs"; life happens only once...
Roy shoved the broadsword aside, surged forward right in front of his opponent, and delivered a vicious uppercut to Cooper Olson's jaw, knocking him senseless.
Thud!
Cooper Olson instantly lost consciousness. His vision went black as he fell backward, his massive body slamming heavily onto the ground with a loud bang.
"The Commander lost?"
The victory was decided in an instant, attracting everyone's attention. The faces of the soldiers and officers turned pale.
People felt mostly helplessness and awe toward the god Ares. His capriciousness, stupidity, impulsiveness, and unreasonableness always caused trouble.
The Knight Commanders and Prince Marius were the true pillars of the Kingdom, respected and loved by the people.
The fall of Commander Cooper Olson caused the morale of the Kingdom's army to collapse instantly.
