Chapter 206 - Chapter 207: Capturing the God Ares

"Wow, it really is a god."

Tione and Tiona surrounded Ares, along with the remaining Knight Commanders and guards.

Though fewer in number, the girls looked completely at ease. They stared at the people in their encirclement with a teasing smile on their lips, exuding a dangerous aura that made the Rakia guards tremble in fear.

These Orario adventurers are too terrifying.

In less than three minutes, the nearly two hundred personal guards they brought had all been defeated.

One of the Knight Commanders looked at Roy and scolded him with righteous indignation, "Justice Bud, do you dare attack the God who rules the Kingdom of Rakia—Lord Ares? Do you realize what a grave crime this is?"

Tione exploded in anger. "Bastard! Don't try to pin the blame on us! Weren't you the ones targeting the Captain's hometown?!"

The middle-aged man argued, "This is a standard conscription order! We do it every year. It's not targeted!"

"You really have the nerve to say that!" Tione gritted her teeth. The amount of grain and men demanded was more than ten times that of other villages. If that wasn't targeting, what was?

Feeling he was gaining the upper hand in the argument, the middle-aged man continued, "Justice Bud, it's not too late to stop now. The Kingdom will pardon your crimes." At this point, he still hadn't realized that Roy was a far more difficult enemy than Tione.

"Crimes?"

Roy shook his head and laughed. "You keep saying 'standard conscription' and 'not targeted,' trying to label me with crimes. But a god and his personal guard blockading a village specifically to wait for me—do you think anyone would believe that story?"

"Wait..."

Seeing that Roy was about to attack, the middle-aged man's face turned ugly, and he tried to say something more.

But Roy couldn't be bothered to listen. This guy wasn't worth it. "Tione, Tiona, take them down!"

"Yes, Captain!"

Tione and Tiona had been furious for a while now.

The knights looked at Roy in disbelief, wanting to cry but failing to shed tears. He attacks without a second thought!

It was exactly like the rumors said!

That was why they had tried to persuade God Ares not to provoke him from the start—he was a lunatic.

The Rudra Familia, Apollo Familia, Soma Familia, and Ikelos Familia had all fallen at Roy's hands one after another.

Roy's brutality and ruthlessness were on par with his miraculous leveling speed.

The three of them stepped forward, their aura as High-Level Adventurers crushing down on the Rakia knights like three Demon Kings, forcing them to retreat continuously.

"So troublesome!"

Ares shoved the Knight Commander aside and shouted loudly, "Justice Bud, I demand that you immediately withdraw from the Astrea Familia and join my Familia!"

Roy paused, blinking innocently. "Why would I do that?"

"You are a citizen of the Kingdom of Rakia, which means you are my subject. Naturally, you must obey me wholeheartedly!" Ares lifted his chin high in the air.

Silence fell over the area.

An awkward atmosphere filled the air; it felt as if several crows were flying overhead, cawing.

The guards covered their faces in agony. Stuck with a god like this, they truly felt like dying.

"Hahahahahaha!"

Roy, Tione, and Tiona burst into laughter, finding Ares's childishness ridiculous.

While Tione and Tiona dealt with the remnants of the defeated army, Roy grabbed a soldier and, after a bit of "electro-shock interrogation," understood the whole story. Roy had thought it was something major.

It turned out to be nothing more than a farce caused by a god's capricious whim.

Actually, after Roy leveled up to Level 2 at terrifying speed and gained fame, God Ares had set his sights on him. However, Prince Marius had firmly opposed it. Creating a powerful potential enemy for the Kingdom for no reason—wasn't that just brain-dead behavior?

Moreover, Roy wasn't alone. Behind him stood the Astrea Familia. A starving camel is still bigger than a horse; even with many members sacrificed, the Astrea Familia still had countless connections and resources to utilize.

This time, taking advantage of Prince Marius being busy with work, Ares had taken two hundred of his personal guards to launch a sneak attack on the village, surrounding it to lure Roy back—a classic trap.

The plan was good. The only slight flaw was that Ares and his guards executed it like a pile of crap.

There were so many holes in it that Roy didn't even want to count them.

Ares, whose brain was seemingly made of muscle, hadn't even compared the combat power of both sides. With just these few people, Roy alone could have wiped them all out.

Roy rubbed his temples. Even he was occasionally shocked by the creature known as a "God."

Thinking that he had actually come all the way back to seek revenge against such an idiot made Roy feel like his IQ was being lowered. Suddenly, it felt very boring.

Let's just treat this as a family visit, Roy consoled himself.

Tione and Tiona dealt with the two Level 3 Knight Commanders, while Roy went for Ares himself.

"Hahaha! Justice Bud, submit to my magnificent swordsmanship!" Ares drew his extremely ornate royal sword, encrusted with gems of various colors and shining brilliantly, and attacked Roy.

Zzzzt! Zzzzt!

Roy activated his magic. Golden lightning surged from his palm, pressing down on Ares. A dense net of lightning enveloped him, electrocuting him until he was charred black, sporting an afro, and collapsing to the ground, weak all over.

"Damn it! How can you use magic? A real man should fight with blades and spears!" Ares struggled, trembling all over as he tried to prop himself up.

Roy smiled disdainfully.

He could fight back and forth with Goddess Astrea because he didn't use Skills, Magic, or even his full stats. Once he used those abilities, no matter how skilled a god's technique was, it would be useless.

Let you unleash a dazzling combo of exquisite moves; Roy only needed to spam normal attacks mixed with auto-attacks.

This was the charm of stats!

Roy walked up and looked down at Ares, his eyes filled with a dangerous smile.

"Wait, I am a God!"

"How dare you be so rude to a God!"

"Is it too late to reconcile now?"

Roy's fists rained down like a storm, specifically hitting places that hurt excruciatingly but weren't fatal—a technique personally taught by Miss Ryu. He beat Ares until the god was weeping bitterly.

He had promised Goddess Astrea he wouldn't commit deicide.

But beating the guy half to death didn't violate the agreement.

In no time, Ares was beaten black and blue, his entire body swelling up a size larger.

"Justice Bud, don't get cocky! I left fifteen guards in the village. If you don't join my Familia, I can't guarantee the safety of the villagers, hmph hmph!" Ares sneered.

"Threatening others with the lives of your own subjects... you really are disgusting," Roy said, squatting beside him.

"You don't understand! This is called 'all is fair in war'! For the greater good and the Kingdom, their sacrifice is valuable!" Ares spoke as if he held the truth.

"So what are you going to do?"

Ares stared at Roy with burning eyes. "The villagers or yourself—which side will you choose?"

"I think you really want me to beat you to death!"
