Chapter 30 - Chapter 30: Startling Ability Scores

In essence, Roy was undergoing conversion, transferring from one God's jurisdiction to another.

Centered on the drop of Goddess Astraea's blood, a large ripple spread out. Rows of text gradually emerged in color and form.

The symbol of Goddess Astraea—the Sword of Justice and Wings—also appeared on Roy's back.

As the bloody light grew brighter, more and more sacred script emerged. This was the script used by the Gods, unintelligible to ordinary people. It was the power that only the Gods could wield, etching the script onto a subject's body with divine blood as a medium to enhance their abilities.

When she saw Roy's ability scores, astonishment flashed in Astraea's gem-like eyes.

What in the world is this?

His Agility, which had broken its limit and reached SS-rank, was incredible, but his Dexterity, at SSS-rank, was a realm only attainable by rare geniuses. Without exception, those with such potential had left their illustrious names in history.

The two skills he possessed naturally were even more terrifying!

Blood for Blood—based on Roy's emotional state, it was a theoretically uncapped revenge skill that could repay the damage sustained ten times, or even a hundred times over!

An ultra-rare skill!

What concerned Astraea even more was the second skill, My Lord is Present. It allowed him to update his status scores and choose to level up without the intervention of a God.

In a thousand years, Astraea had never heard of a child who could autonomously update their status scores or choose to level up. This was a miracle, a miracle of the lower world!

Astraea pressed her slender hand to her forehead, feeling dizzy.

She had found a treasure... no, a treasure willingly delivered to her doorstep. A heaven-sent windfall.

Roy had consistently refused to discuss his previous God, leaving Astraea with some lingering doubts. At this moment, all her worries and suspicions vanished.

No God would willingly send a spy with such phenomenal abilities and skills.

This child had the potential to become a hero!

Astraea used paper to imprint Roy's status scores and converted them to the common language. Then, she performed the "lock" operation—a technique reserved for the Gods to hide the "sacred script" etched on a member's back to prevent others from secretly viewing their abilities.

"The conversion is complete."

Having done all this, Astraea looked complicated as she handed the paper to Roy.

Roy took the paper but didn't look at it immediately—how could he not know his own ability scores? He looked at the Goddess with a puzzled expression. "What's wrong?"

"I feel a little tired. Excuse me, I need to go rest," Goddess Astraea said, showing an apologetic and weary smile.

Watching her slightly haggard figure retreat, a look of distress appeared on Ryuu's face. She had never seen that expression on the Goddess before. The culprit for all this was...

Ryuu's sharp gaze shifted to Roy.

Roy spread his hands innocently; he hadn't done anything.

Ryuu did not leave. Her eyes were fixed on the paper Roy held, a flicker of curiosity in her gaze.

This small gesture certainly didn't escape Roy.

"Go ahead and look if you want. There's nothing to hide here," Roy offered, holding up the paper.

"You told me to look; I absolutely did not ask to see it myself," Ryuu mumbled. Exposing one's ability scores and skills was no small matter for anyone. Even among Familia members, it was usually kept secret.

But there was too much mystery surrounding this young man, compelling one to uncover his secrets.

Just one look, just one!

They would be confronting the Rudra Familia together soon. Understanding her comrade's abilities would lead to better combat. The Elven girl rationalized, deceiving herself.

Ryuu quickly scanned the contents of the paper. Her beautiful small face froze instantly.

"What is this?!"

Ryuu's eyes widened. No wonder Goddess Astraea reacted that way. Roy's ability scores and skills could no longer be described as surprising; they were terrifying!

Limit-breaking ability scores, an uncapped revenge skill, the ability to independently update status and level up...

If the contents of this paper were leaked, let alone Orario, the entire world would go mad.

Other Gods would spare no effort to snatch him away. This young man himself was a miracle!

Ryuu felt a headache coming on. No wonder his ability scores kept climbing even though he was always with her. He had such heaven-defying skills.

Roy also glanced at the ability scores on the paper. The brutal beating of the old man and being blown up had boosted his Strength and Endurance significantly, especially Endurance, by nearly a hundred points. Envious? He earned it by nearly getting blown up.

When he saw the skill "My Lord is Present," Roy finally understood why Goddess Astraea had that expression: autonomously updating status scores and leveling up!

Roy looked strange. Interesting. Was his instance panel disguising itself, protecting itself?

In reality, Roy had another objective for this conversion: to see if Goddess Astraea could detect his instance panel!

Although he didn't have the divine ability to discern lies, Roy believed his judgment of people was sound.

Based on the result, Goddess Astraea had likely not detected his instance panel.

However, when he tried to transfer to an instance world, the Dungeon did detect it!

Perhaps a conclusion could be drawn from this.

The Dungeon > Ordinary Gods!

A slight smile tugged at Roy's lips. He felt he was one step closer to the truth behind the Dungeon.

Compared to the locals of this world, Roy could conjecture based on the mythological content of his previous life.

To create such a vast and wondrous underground world, along with countless monsters, Roy couldn't think of any reason other than the mythological Mother Earth—Gaia. Even if she wasn't directly responsible, there must be an inextricable link.

This would explain why the Gods collectively fell silent.

Given the nature of those pleasure-seeking Gods, they would openly boast about peeking at women bathing. It was impossible for them to be secretive or evasive about other matters.

It was likely that some kind of power or covenant was restricting them from revealing the truth to the people.

Thinking this way, his ambition to conquer the Dungeon did seem too "arrogant." That was the Mother of all Gods, who created all things. According to the mythology of his past life, even the Great God Ouranos was one of her children.

There was no trace of discouragement on Roy's face. The more ambitious the goal, the more it fueled his fighting spirit.

Inside the Room.

Astraea lay tossing and turning in bed, unable to sleep. Her rosy lips were pursed in a pout.

As a Goddess, one of her few uses in the lower world was helping her children update their status scores.

Yet, this ability was useless for Roy.

Her mood was complex. She felt like a useless Goddess, watching her Familia member drift further away, yet having no genuine connection with him—a sense of loneliness arising from two parallel lines.

When she left the room, Astraea returned to her usual demeanor. A calm smile adorned her flawless face, and her words and gestures were dignified and elegant.
