The bullet traversed 200 meters in an instant, piercing through glass, and landing in the skull.
"That's one," Egon said flatly.
Two people next to the first panicked. They moved randomly. Amidst the chaos, Egon foresaw their movement, timed the moment when the two heads would align.
He pulled the trigger twice. Two shots came out. The first tore through a skull, bending right on exit. The second went through the open passage, burned flying fragments of brain and struck the second skull.
Alfred was astonished. "That's an impossible shot."
"Three." Egon said.
After the double kill, Chaos erupted through the house. They moved randomly, but Egon tracked them. It took longer to but he kept firing. By the ninth kill, the enemies had taken cover behind walls too thick, the nano-bullets couldn't penetrate without detonating.
Alfred's drones were already in motion. The scouts reached the building 40 seconds and began sweeping the structure. Their feed synced into Egon's rifle. Although it lacked heat vision, the siege piercer had the ability to display data on real-life locations.
Egon had already switched to anti-tank rounds. Egon began firing the anti-tank bullets. He locked to silhouettes behind walls and fired.
The first shot went through a wall, and the metal table behind it, where two people were hiding. It struck the first guy's neck and tore out to land in the second person's thigh.
Two minutes later, the attack drones arrived. Once they received the scouts' data, they locked onto their targets. Thirty-one targets identified, twenty-three still and eleven moving. Alfred didn't hesitate. Four missiles launches confirmed.
In less than two seconds, The house collapsed into a rumble of fire and glass. The explosion lit the plain. Egon used it to take down three runners. Two headshots. One assshot.
The combat drones hunted the rest. The three regular shooters took down Four of them. Two runners were more skilled. They dodged and weaved, constantly changed their pattern to avoid detection by the AI. Others hid behind hard obstacles the drones' light bullets couldn't breach.
Alfred redirected missile carriers. Two blasts took down the covers and the people behind them. The agile single-shooter swept the last of the runners.
Then, silence fell. Heat and dust hung were the house once stood. The scouts showed no more life. All enemies were eliminated, or so they thought.
Egon lowered the Piercer, exhaling. "I'd almost forgotten the thrill."
Alfred looked at him, smirking faintly. "You hit a leg. Maybe, you're really getting weak."
Before he could laugh, a bullet struck his helmet.
