Egon is a 6'2", dark-skinned man with a slightly bald head and a strong, muscular physique. He's mastered many forms of martial arts, which, combined with his 16 years of military experience, make him a dangerous individual. He has blue eyes, strong eyebrows, a firm jawline, small ears, and a small nose. Currently, he smells like olive oil due to the brand of shower gel he uses.
As a child, Egon had no family. He was adopted by an army general alongside another kid, whom he took as a brother. With his brother, Egon did everything. They played together, trained together, and shared all the experiences that two brothers could have. When they became men, both joined the army, serving as cadets for three years and performing simple tasks. They had a track record of eliminating numerous organizations and rebellious forces during World War IV, which qualified them for transfer into the Special Forces of the Germanic Empire.
In the Special Forces, they met Alfred, an ambitious fighter with a passion to serve and protect the sacred homeland. Egon's brother was an extremist who went far and beyond for the greater good of his homeland. In one mission, Egon's brother took things too far and left himself stranded in enemy territory, which eventually got him killed. That death could have torn Egon apart, but instead it also brought Egon and Alfred together.
After that death, Alfred became like a brother to Egon. They were unstoppable together, executing many missions flawlessly. After 10 years of service, Egon and Alfred were officially suspended from their roles in the secret services of the Empire. When the outbreak happened, Egon was too valuable to be left behind. Therefore, he and Alfred were invited to the crisis shelter in Miller's Circle.
16 hours before the incident of Day Zero, Egon received information about an imminent attack. As a commanding officer of the Wall's forces, he suggested that everyone seek refuge in the emergency shelter set up by the army on the 8th and 7th levels of the Wall. less than 850 people followed him and reached safety before the incident.
Being the only one with the codes for the wall's security system, Egon took responsibility to protect those who came with him and locked the gates, preventing any contact with the outside. Some survivors outside begged Egon to open the main gate and accept more people. Egon had to make a hard decision. He saw the danger outside the wall, witnessing the torn body parts of people he once knew flying around like pieces of cloth. It wasn't an easy call, but he chose to sacrifice many for the survival of the species. However, he made an exception, opening a side entrance to allow Alfred and a few others he rescued to enter the shelter.
It took a few weeks for the survivors to settle in the shelter. While most grieved for the lost ones, Egon focused on getting the main facilities of the building running. With the help of Alfred and two therapists among the survivors, Alina Post and Erdmann Warner, the four of them managed to form a solid society from the divided survivors. Their efforts ensured their seats on the elected council. The process of selection was organized by them, which caused doubts at the time. However, all doubts were dispelled when Alfred was disqualified in the election.
Two months in, more than 200 people from the Baumann and cline families separated themselves from the rest of society. They locked themselves in a section of the emergency shelter and cut ties with everyone outside, except the elected council. Because of their actions, the council reserved two seats to be filled only by members of the two families.
Four months in, the team of scientists inside the wall concluded that the conditions outside were not improving and would soon become unsuitable for human life. Some hard decisions had to be made, and Egon, being the responsible and strong leader, was the one to make them.
