The moment my boots lifted me off the ground, I shot straight out of the apartment window.
Cold night air rushed against my face.
And then—I was airborne.
"I'm… flying," I whispered. Then the whisper exploded into a scream of pure joy.
"OH MY GOOOOOD—I'M FLYING!"
The glowing skyline of Los Angeles, California stretched beneath me: the tall office towers, the neon signs, the endless traffic that looked tiny from up here. The moonlight glimmered across the glass buildings, making the whole city look like a giant sea of stars.
My twin odango tails fluttered behind me like long golden streamers.
Every twist and spin made my heart race with happiness.
"This is CRAZYYY! I LOVE THIS!"
I flipped forward clumsily, nearly spiraling, but somehow my body instinctively corrected itself.
"Okay, wow… I am way too good at this for someone who's never flown before."
But then—A faint scream echoed in my superhearing, buzzing through my hair pieces.
"Help! Someone—please!"
The sound came from downtown LA.
Near a large building… the sign popped in my mind like a GPS ping:
City Bank — Los Angeles Branch.
My excitement faded into focus.
Someone needed me.
I stopped midair, hovering above the city traffic like I was standing on an invisible moonbeam.
"System," I said firmly, "show me my current stats in Sailor Moon form."
A soft chime answered

But then the scream returned—shakier, weaker.
"Somebody help us!"
I clenched my fists.
No more pausing. No more fangirling.
People were in danger.
"Alright, everyone," I whispered, lifting my chin as my boots glowed brighter.
"Your magical hero is coming."
With a burst of moonlit speed, I streaked across the Los Angeles skyline, leaving a trail of shimmering white and pink light behind me.
Time for Sailor Moon's first real mission.
Location: City Bank
Katie's small hands clutched her stuffed unicorn as she hid behind an overturned desk. Her mother—the bank manager—was being held at gunpoint by one of the three masked robbers.
"Mommy!" Katie cried, voice cracking. "Mommy!"
A terrified customer livestreamed from behind a column, whispering into their shaky phone,
"Oh my God… they've got the manager… people are crying… someone please—someone please help us…"
The robbers shouted threats across the marble floor, ski masks covering their faces.
The first robber, tall and bulky at 6'2", wore a green tactical jacket and carried a shotgun. He paced back and forth, boots thudding loudly.
"Move and I'll blow your head off!" he barked at the crowd.
The second robber, lanky and jittery at around 5'10", wore a black hoodie stuffed with ammo pouches. His hands shook every time he handled his handgun.
"They said police are on the way! We need that vault open now!" he shouted, voice cracking.
The third robber, shorter and broad-shouldered at roughly 5'7", shoved the manager harder.
"OPEN IT! Do it or I swear—!"
A soft glow filled the entrance.
"Let them go."
Everything stopped.
Standing under the broken lights was a girl in a sailor uniform—white gloves, red boots, golden hair flowing in two long odango-style tails. Moonlight shimmered around her like a halo.
The robbers turned sharply.
"…Who are you?" the leader demanded.
The girl lifted her chin.
"I am the Pretty Guardian who fights for love and for justice… Sailor Moon!
And in the name of the Moon—I'll punish you!"
Silence.
Then laughter erupted.
"You serious?"
"You look like you came from Comic-Con!"
"Way too early for Halloween, sweetheart!"
Katie's wide, tear-filled eyes shined with something new: hope.
The leader shouted, "Take her out!"
Bullets fired.
The bullets cracked through the air—but Sailor Moon shot upward instantly, dodging with a burst of speed that left a streak of light behind her.
The hostages gasped.
"She moved—did she fly?"
"No way—what Is she!?"
Sailor Moon dropped down behind the tall robber and kicked—
"SAILOR MOON KICK!"
Her boot slammed into his chest, sending him crashing into a metal desk that dented under the impact.
He groaned but stayed down, fully incapacitated.
THUD.
One down.
Then another robber rushed her from behind.
The livestreamer whispered, "Oh no—behind her—!"
Sailor Moon leaped up again, flipping over his shoulders. She kicked him in the balls.
CRACK!—
and he went down groaning.
Two down.
The leader still had Katie's mother, pulling out a backup handgun with shaking hands.
"You stay BACK!" he screamed. "One more step and she's—"
Sailor Moon swooped forward in a blur.
She tore the gun from his grip, sending it skidding across the floor.
The leader swung at her in panic—but Sailor Moon planted her feet, pulled back her fist, and delivered a clean, powerful punch straight to his masked face.
"Night-night."
SMASH—THUD!
He hit the ground instantly, completely unconscious.
Silence washed over the bank. Glass glimmered on the marble floor. People stared, trembling, speechless.
"Mommy!" Katie sobbed as her mother ran to her, pulling her tightly into her arms. "Mommy, Mommy…"
The livestreamer whispered, still filming,"She took down all three… she saved everyone… she's real… she's actually real…"
Sailor Moon hovered a few inches above the ground.
Before the police arrived, she floated toward the bank's main door.
"Stay safe, everyone!" she called out, her voice bright and full of energy.
Then, she flew out the door and into the night sky, leaving a trail of shimmering white and pink light behind her.
