Chapter 86 - Chapter 86: The Three-Eyed Raven Wants Cooperation

The three-eyed raven's body—stiff as a sculpture.

Deep in Lynn's consciousness, that ancient, vast voice completely vanished.

Replaced by deathly blank silence.

The room—terrifyingly quiet. Only the occasional crackling of flames in the hearth reminded that life still existed here.

Winter's three little heads seemed to sense this stagnant atmosphere.

They stopped playing, staring in unison at the raven on the ground, throats releasing wary growls.

"What, nothing to say?"

Lynn's voice broke the suffocating silence.

He didn't look at the raven, simply using his fingers to gently scratch the fine scales beneath Winter's middle head's jaw.

Movements leisurely—as if admiring a newly acquired trophy.

"Or should I be more explicit?"

Lynn's gaze finally shifted from Winter.

Fell on the raven that dared not move.

"That altar beyond the Wall. That so-called dragon egg. Not an accidental discovery at all."

"That was your trap."

"Bait waiting who-knows-how-many years."

The three-eyed raven's body trembled imperceptibly.

"You knew the egg was there, but you couldn't take it. Couldn't hatch it."

Lynn continued peeling away the Three-Eyed Raven's deepest secrets layer by layer.

"You possess the Greenseer's vast memories, but this new body has only half Targaryen blood."

"Because Brynden was a bastard."

"You weren't confident blood magic could wake it."

"So you needed a pawn."

"A pawn who could complete all this for you."

Lynn smiled sardonically.

"Unfortunately, I became the variable in your eyes. The most suitable pawn."

"And Maester Aemon—the old man with the purest dragon blood—became the necessary sacrifice in your plan."

"If you were truly his uncle, you'd never choose his sacrifice."

"But you kept tempting him."

"Through this alone, I can confirm you're not Bloodraven!"

"You guided everything step by step."

"Guided me to find the egg. Guided Maester Aemon to sacrifice himself."

"Your purpose—to make this dragon reappear in this world."

Bloodraven remained silent.

But its blood-red eye no longer held shock.

Instead—terror at being completely seen through.

"Dragonflame can destroy magic."

Lynn's voice deepened.

"Especially the ancient, constantly fading magic on the Wall."

"Why did Silverwing refuse to fly over the Wall? Because it sensed that magic's repulsion—and felt the Night King waiting for it to cross."

"Just one spear to bring it down. Use Ice Magic to convert the dragon into an undead dragon—that could also breach the Wall!"

"And you, great Greenseer, you can't wait anymore."

"You need a key. A key to destroy the Wall's magic prematurely."

"This dragon—one of your keys."

Lynn paused, gaze sharpening further.

"And the Horn of Winter—your second key."

"You lure me to the Fist of the First Men. Superficially giving me a choice. Actually, whichever path I choose, the final result helps you breach the Wall."

"Get the horn. Blow it. Wall collapses."

"Get this dragon. Use its dragonflame to burn the Wall's magical foundation. Same result."

"You've bet everything on me."

"What fine calculation."

Lynn finished. The room fell into prolonged silence again.

And indeed, the Night King considered exactly this.

In the future, when Daenerys flew dragons across, Viserion was killed and converted by the Night King—becoming the key to breaching the Wall.

Winter seemed impatient.

The right blood-red-eyed head suddenly spat a small puff of black smoke mixed with sparks at the raven.

The three-eyed raven startled, flapping wings, awkwardly jumping backward.

At that moment—

That aged voice finally returned to Lynn's mind.

Only this time, it no longer carried lofty dignity—just hoarseness that could almost be called "weak."

"...We can cooperate."

Lynn raised an eyebrow.

"Cooperate?"

"Yes. Cooperate."

The Three-Eyed Raven's voice turned urgent.

It finally placed Lynn at equal—or even higher—standing.

"You're right about everything."

"I admit I've been trying to guide you. Use you."

"But I meant no harm."

Bloodraven's speech quickened, as if fearing Lynn would actually go burn its body the next second.

"We have a common enemy!"

"The Night King's just a puppet! A walking corpse I pushed to the forefront!"

"What's truly terrifying—the thing that created him!"

"The Cold God lurking in the deepest Land of Always Winter. Darkness itself!"

"That's the Long Night that ends everything!"

"I need this dragon's power. I need YOUR power even more!"

"A power unbound by fate. One that sees through all fog!"

The Three-Eyed Raven's voice—for the first time—carried pleading.

"Help me, Lynn."

"No—help ourselves."

"We can fight the Cold God together. End this eternal war together."

"I can tell you everything I know. Secrets buried in time's river. Those truly existing gods. The essence of ancient magic!"

"We can become this world's... guardians."

Lynn listened quietly.

He didn't answer immediately.

The Three-Eyed Raven's offer—tempting.

A monster living millennia—the knowledge and secrets it holds are invaluable.

But Lynn knew better.

Conspiring with a tiger means being prepared to be devoured.

He looked at the humble three-eyed raven on the ground, then at the three-headed hatchling at his feet—utterly dependent on him.

After a long pause—

He slowly spoke.

"I can consider it."

"But first, I need to see your sincerity!"
