Mufasa and the others spent a night in the Wolfswood. During the night, Mufasa heard wolf howls echoing from afar.
Upon hearing the wolf howls, Hrakkar immediately roared in response.
The low roar of the lion traveled eight miles, startling many hunters in the Wolfswood. Some were direwolves, others shadowcats, and some were eagles.
However, what made Mufasa feel somewhat awkward was that he and Melisandre had slept in the same tent that night.
But Mufasa used a long spear and a round shield as a boundary line, and the two of them did not disturb each other.
Perhaps it was because Melisandre was there, but Mufasa didn't feel cold at all during the night; instead, a warm heat filled the tent.

Mufasa, half-asleep, heard Melisandre mumbling in her sleep.
"Lord of Light! R'hllor!"
"I am your servant!"
"I pledge my wholehearted loyalty to you!"
"My entire being belongs to you!"
Finally, Melisandre let out a soft, low cry.
She writhed like an earthworm.
Mufasa felt her leg draped over him.
In response, he silently chanted the 'Ice Heart Incantation'.
"With a heart as clear as ice, even the sky's collapse won't startle!"
However, before sunrise, Melisandre fell back asleep. Mufasa quietly moved her leg back, careful not to wake her.
After sunrise, Hrakkar roared outside, alerting everyone that the sun was up.
Everyone emerged from their tents, one after another.
Podrick had already propped the large iron pot he carried on his back between three stones and gathered firewood. Then he looked at Mufasa.
"What, you want me to start the fire too? Podrick, can't you live without me?" Mufasa asked.
"Isn't it much more convenient with your abilities, Ser?" Podrick looked at Mufasa with an expression of longing.
"Alright, bring all the sausage and pork! And go collect some clean snow!" Mufasa said.
Podrick left, and Mufasa approached the iron pot. He rubbed his hands together, conjured a firebird, and tossed it into the firewood. Immediately, smoke rose. The firewood Podrick had gathered was a bit damp and difficult to burn.
Nevertheless, Mufasa made do with it.
Tyrion, dressed in many layers, came before Mufasa.
"Mufasa, is the food ready?"
"My uncle! No matter how regularly you eat, you won't grow taller, unless you have some kind of 'Muscle and Bone Forging Pill'?" Mufasa said with a laugh.
"Muscle and Bone Forging Pill? What's that?" Tyrion's eyes showed curiosity.
"Something that can change a person's muscles and bones. In other words, it can make people taller, handsomer, more beautiful, and so on."
"How much does one of these cost?" Tyrion asked, drooling.
"I've only heard of it in rumors! I've never actually seen one!" Mufasa said, shaking his head.
Tyrion immediately showed a helpless expression.
Benjen and a few others also came over to Mufasa.
"Oh, little lord of House Lannister, having a meal, are we?" Yoren said, revealing his large yellow teeth.
"None for you, don't even think about it!" Mufasa waved him off.
"Why are you so distant? You're the King's Hand's envoy!" Yoren sat next to Mufasa, his arm draped over his shoulder.
"Aren't you Night's Watch self-contained, not aligning with any power or family?" Mufasa chuckled.
Yoren's face showed a hint of embarrassment.
"Little lord! We're all going to the Wall together, after all! You can't let us go hungry, can you?" Yoren said shamelessly.
In truth, they weren't going without food; it just wasn't as good as what Mufasa and his group had. Especially since Mufasa's group could even warm their wine before drinking it.
Mufasa eventually made sure everyone, including the two prisoners, had a full meal before they set off again.
However, when they reached the depths of the Wolfswood, they encountered an ambush.
The surrounding rain of arrows forced them all to take cover.
Melisandre hid beneath Hrakkar. His massive body, though a living target, had ten centimeters of thick fat and ten-centimeter-long lion's fur, which was enough to protect her.
Mufasa held the Valyrian steel shield he had won from the lottery, protecting the Imp, Tyrion, and stuffing him into a tree hollow.
"Is it the mountain clans? Or a wildling ambush?" Tyrion said.
"Perhaps the situation is worse, Uncle." Mufasa looked thoughtfully in the direction of the incoming arrows from the shadows.
"What's going on? Benjen, why are we being ambushed?" Yoren, hiding behind an oak tree that three men couldn't encircle, asked Benjen Stark, who was under another tree.
The Night's Watch being ambushed? And this was the North! Was there no king's law, no justice?
"I don't know, but while the strength of the various noble houses in the North varies, only two or three have so many archers. Apart from House Stark, I'm afraid..."
Benjen Stark picked up an arrow from the ground to examine it.
"These arrows, with steel arrowheads—the mountain clans and wildlings don't have such craftsmanship. I think it must be people from a major house. They knew our movements and specifically ambushed us here. I'm afraid they want to kill us! But why?" Benjen Stark couldn't understand.
Mufasa, however, already had a faint guess in his heart.
Although the enemy might not know why Mufasa and his group were going to the Wall, their roster of personnel could be known by outsiders, as it wasn't a secret.
King Robert had stayed in Winterfell for a long time, and the other Northern lords must have known about it. However, without King Robert's and Lord Eddard's summons, they wouldn't easily go to Winterfell to pay their respects.
The news of Eddard Stark leaving Winterfell to become Hand of the King in King's Landing was also known to the Northerners.
Their choice to attack Mufasa and his group at this time was definitely not aimed at Yoren, but perhaps at Benjen Stark, or Mufasa and Tyrion.
However, Mufasa's thoughts were mere speculation. He still needed to capture a prisoner and question them to get answers.
"You all, protect yourselves. I'll go take care of the hidden enemies." Mufasa said.
Mufasa, holding the Valyrian steel shield in one hand and the Valyrian steel spear in the other, charged out, fearless of the arrow rain.
His movements were agile, and combined with his excellent equipment, he successfully reached the enemy.
Seeing these enemies, they all showed terrified expressions. They hadn't expected anyone to be able to brave the arrow rain and reach them.
Mufasa, like a whirlwind, cut down all but two of the enemies. However, he felt very strange during the killing; they seemed to make no cries of pain.
Finally, Mufasa brought the two men, dressed in black wool shirts, before the others.
"Question them!" Mufasa said.
Benjen Stark held a dagger to the neck of one of them and asked.
"Speak, who ordered you to ambush us?"
"Ugh ugh ugh! Ugh ugh ugh ugh!"
The man gestured wildly, finally opening his mouth to reveal that his tongue had been cut out.
"Could it be that they are all mutes?"
Mufasa checked each one and then understood: the reason they didn't scream even when they died was because they were all mutes.
"Cutting out tongues like this, perhaps only Euron or Yoren would do such a thing." Mufasa said.
"Do you think you're funny?" Yoren glared at Mufasa.
"The Yoren I'm talking about isn't you, Yoren; it's Euron the Ironborn, also known as Euron Crow's Eye." Mufasa said.
"Euron Crow's Eye is the captain of the Silence. His crew are all mutes, their tongues cut out. Even the slaves on his ship are mutes, including the women."
"I know he masterminded the destruction of our Lannister fleet, greatly weakening our family's strength." Tyrion emerged from the tree hollow and said.
"That's right, although Victarion commanded it in the field, the strategy came from Euron."
Mufasa began to pull arrows from Hrakkar's body.
But Mufasa didn't even need to pull them; Hrakkar simply shook his fur, and most of them fell out.
Mufasa checked his wounds; they were minor and wouldn't affect his running.
"I don't think they can provide any useful information. Let me kill them!" Benjen Stark said.
"No!" Mufasa stopped him.
"The Night's Watch lost two new recruits this time!"
Because the two prisoners Yoren had caught were dead, shot full of arrows like hedgehogs.
Their hands and feet were chained, so when they tripped over tree roots while running, they fell straight to the Seven Hells.
"They can be replaced by these two! Yoren, your trip wasn't for nothing."
Yoren thought about it and agreed.
So, the two mutes, unable to speak or write, became the next batch of Night's Watch new recruits.
Mufasa and the others still didn't know who wanted them dead.
However, even if the culprit was hidden beneath layers of mist, they would eventually be discovered.
Mufasa and his group continued their journey. After the ambush in the Wolfswood, they didn't encounter any more enemies, only a few wild beasts.
Hrakkar attacked, killing three wolves and a bear.
So, one night, Tyrion happily ate bear paw.
Melisandre, on the other hand, kept the bear gall, saying it was an important medicinal ingredient.
As for the wolf and bear pelts, Mufasa gave them to Aggo and Podrick.
As a wildling, Aggo naturally knew how to make clothes from animal skins. In a few quick movements, he sewed a bearskin cloak and put it on.
"Even among wildlings, few can kill a bear, especially an adult male bear! I've only ever killed a female bear alone at most." Aggo said.
"You're still young. You'll only be twenty-five in another ten years. By then, perhaps you can become a proper knight of Westeros." Mufasa said.
"A knight? Without a warhorse, without armor, without a longsword and a spear, what good is a knight?" Aggo said with a hint of disdain.
Mufasa shook his head.
"A knight's glory doesn't come from a warhorse, armor, or weapons, but from their loyalty and the justice in their heart. Have you heard the story of Dunk the Tall?"
Aggo shook his head..
"Then let me tell you! Dunk the Tall, born in Flea Bottom in King's Landing, his name was originally Dunk..."
