[1st POV]
I blurred into the air.
And fell down amid the rubble like an asteroid.
*BOOOOM!!!*
My transformations were undone by the time the smoke cleared for everyone to see me.
"Huh, it seems like I was worried for nothing," I said, standing with folded arms and staring at the six man squad that I dispatched this morning.
Aki and Himeno were on the ground, hugging each other loosely. Denji sat a few feet away, his face looked dumbfounded and confused, which was normal to be fair.
Hiro was on the floor, clutching his stomach and Kobeni was there beside him too. Power on the other hand, was now standing upright like a soldier.
"Is everyone okay?" I asked, a bit unsure. At least no one was dead.
"Power is fine sir!" Power said with a raised hand.
"Denji?" I asked, turning to him.
"I'm okay... I think," he said, looking at himself before giving a thumbs up.
"Hiro?" I asked.
He gave me a thumbs up and a strained smile. Kobeni also had a shaky smile and gave a peace sign to signal that it was okay.
"And Aki," I said, turning to the last duo. "It seems like we were not too thorough about the contract and what it entailed,"
"That part is on me. We'll tweak it a bit after we have some time alone," I said.
Aki seemed confused, perhaps not knowing the danger and risk they were in just now. "Everything went well. I was able to control the Pig Devil,"
He seemed tired so I didn't tell him anything yet. Instead, I turned to Himeno who was clinging on him. I gave a knowing smirk at their current position and she rolled her single eye before sticking out her tongue.
Men being the ones to chase women was a myth. It went both ways. Even in scenarios where men thought they made the first move, it was usually the women who manipulated them to do so.
The handkerchief theory. It was men who picked it up and returned it to the lady while also taking their chance. But usually, it was the women who purposefully dropped their handkerchief.
"The ambulance will be on its way. And as things look, the Eternity Devil has been exterminated," I said, looking around and smiling.
"The destruction is also limited to the hotel, which was a private building. I guess everyone can expect bonuses," I said the good news but everyone seemed to be too tired to even celebrate.
That was fair.
Adrenaline could only carry you so far before your body remembers it almost died.
Sirens began to bleed into the distance not long after. The sound was layered. It wasn't just one siren but multiple. I could hear the sound of an ambulance, police cars, firefighter trucks and Devil Extermination transport vans.
The usual cleanup orchestra.
One of the many things you would notice in this world that was different from my past world was the speed of first responders. They moved fast when something like this happened.
And it wasn't just because they were better either, it was the whole city itself. The world of Chainsaw Man had silently adapted to disasters. In the way the buildings were built, in the ways roads were made and even in the way traffic was handled.
Barely noticeable but these were just subtle differences that made me realize sometimes that I was a long way from home.
Within minutes, black vans and other vehicles were already surrounding the area, their doors sliding open one after another. Medics in reinforced uniforms rushed out from the ambulances, followed by field handlers and containment specialists, and then the police.
The Public Safety Commission members were the ones with the heavy equipment, like seals, restraints, and special body bags meant for things that were easy to imagine.
I stayed where I was, arms still folded, watching it all unfold. As the captain, it was my job to make sure everything was proceeding correctly.
I didn't really have to give orders to these other sectors as they all knew exactly what to do. They were professionals that experienced these kinds of things on a daily basis.
"Captain Jin."
After ten minutes or so, one of the field coordinators jogged up to me with a clipboard already in hand. He was from the Public Safety Commission.
"Status report," I said.
"Structural collapse of the Hotel Morino. No civilian casualties confirmed. The hotel was evacuated long before containment failed. Two casualties from your unit, non fatal. One severe internal injury due to summoning the Fox Devil, the other one was a shock case. Both are stable and being transferred now."
"What about the Senior Devil Hunter Aki?" I asked.
"No injuries were found on him, other than the mutation of his ribs which he claimed was as it should be," he said.
I nodded once.
"Devil remains?"
"None recovered. But the squad reported the Devil, Eternity Devil," he said.
I chuckled. I guess even a part of me still knew to consume every little bit.
"Good," I said, thinking the report was over.
But the guy remained in front of me. He hesitated a few times before continuing.
"There was... something else reported."
I raised an eyebrow. "Let me guess. Was it about the Pig Devil?"
He nodded.
"Yes, sir. Reports came from multiple witnesses, who saw it even from a distance. But it disappeared now and left no trace," he said.
"That one is on me," I said. "Mark that it was under my authority."
He wrote on his clipboard before finally leaving.
The ambulance where they put Hiro finally closed their back door and left the scene to go to the hospital. Denji and Power were taken away by the Public Safety Commission vans, whereas Himeno and Aki were taken into a car to head back to the headquarters.
I stretched myself after I saw every one of my members head back to where they should. When the vans and ambulance finally vanished, I stretched my body with a yawn.
I checked inside my stomach already and the Rabies Devil was already back where he belonged. I could also feel the new prisoner slowly taking form inside me.
I guess Eternity was too big of a concept to simply digest, even though it wasn't that strong. It definitely had interesting powers.
Now I could say I was a living, walking, eternal prison for devils.
I had to return to the headquarters and give the final reports as well after every member wrote their own.
But I still had time in my hands.
"Hey," I said, calling one of the police.
He turned to me. He was skinny and wore glasses. His appearance could be described as very nerdy among the manly officers.
"You look like a man of culture," I said, no shame in stereotyping folks.
"Can you tell me any place nearby where I can buy porn?" I asked.
Everyone who heard me turned to me, varying gazes that held something in common. They were all judging me.
"S-Sure, I guess?" he said, confused.
"And since I already have everyone's attention anyway, can you recommend good models? Red hair or big boobs would be wonderful," I said.

(Later in the Afternoon)
"Hey Makima," I said, barging into her office with a report in one hand and hiding a few magazines in the other.
"Although I appreciate the unexpected visit, it'd be even better if you learn how to knock," she said.
She was fixing the books and files on her shelves, but she returned to her office table when I entered.
"Yeah, I didn't want to give my reports to the other officers," I said and threw my report on her table.
She was the overseer of the entire Special Divisions in Tokyo, so technically, I could submit my report to her. I did sloppy work so if I tried to submit to other officers, they would probably demand I redo everything.
Not because my work was unacceptable, but because they'd do anything to flex the little power they have.
Those fuckers are like that.
She took my report and quickly breezed through it. She nodded and put it upon a stack of other files that she had on her table. See? It was so easy with her.
"What's that behind you?" she asked curiously with a slight shove of her chin.
"Nothing that requires your knowledge," I said.
"Show me," she demanded.
"No," I said.
"Okay. You can go, then, Captain Nakahara," she said easily.
I shrugged, turning around. But then I felt her quickly snatch the magazines I had in my hand. I turned around quickly, but she was already looking at them.
I didn't even try to stop her at that point because I was baffled by something else.
I carefully judged the distance between me and her sitting on her chair. The distance was nearly not close enough for her to be able to reach for them like that. Her arm would need to be more than four times their length.
How did she take them away from me?
"Interesting," she commented after looking through the covers of the magazines. I had six of them.
But one of them had a red haired model with big boobs. She put the rest of the magazines on the table and opened the one that had a model that looked awfully similar to her.
Well, as similar as a vegan steak could look to a prime wagyu steak.
I felt a blush creep up my face when she immediately locked on the only magazine I bought for myself and not Denji.
I was not going to increase Denji's affection or obsession with the red flag Makima. I decided to buy that for myself since I was already buying others for Denji.
I am only a man. Although I resisted much of her so called seductive manipulation in front of her, there was only so much I could take. But knowing I couldn't fall for her traps, I decided to release my pent up feelings through other means.
She didn't look at me but she had a smile when I blushed.
"I guess it's natural that you are interested in these types of things," she said and showed me one pose the model did. She was wearing an office uniform that was undone in the most inappropriate places while trying to be dignified in the covered places.
I closed my eyes. Seeing her right beside the image was too much. She closed the book with a chuckle.
"Any particular reason why you chose that model?" she asked with a slight teasing smile.
"I picked the cheapest ones. And they are not for me, they are rewards for Denji who did a good job in the mission," I said.
Her smile faded fast.
But then she smiled again with a knowing tilt.
"That's a lie," she said.
"No it isn't,"
I wonder which part gave it away? The cheapest part or the buying for Denji part. That specific magazine was not even in the store display. It was hidden for VIP members and I only got it because the female workers showed it to me after I asked for those types of models.
"Can I have the magazines back please?" I asked.
She pushed the other magazines forward but still kept mine in her hands. I took the others while still eyeing her.
"That too please," I said.
"Do you really want it back?" she said, more teasingly. "I will keep this one, and I'll send you a better one."
"???"
"A new actress, but she'll only model for you-"
"Okay, that's enough," I said, reaching over her table and trying to snatch the magazine away. But she moved her hand away.
I tried even harder, climbing on her table to reach for it but again, she put her arms over her shoulder and kept the magazine out of reach.
And then I slipped.
I fell on top of her on the chair, our bodies smashing together. Her chair was leaning, her body lying diagonal while I was on top of her.
I could feel the heat of her body, the softness of her flesh and the generosity of her bosom. One of my hands grabbed her breast in an attempt to push myself up.
Silence.
More silence as we stayed just like that for many seconds.
But no one was blushing.
I couldn't even get lost in the situation because her eyes pierced into mine. They were glowing yellow, they were serious, and they were so insane. The hypnotic circle of her eyes seemed to represent the insanity she had inside.
"No," she said.
I could hear her drop the magazine on the floor.
Then her hands slowly crept up to my face, cupping me on my cheeks. Her eyes were still piercing.
"You can't look at other women," she said and somehow I got chills.
"Look at me," she said, shifting her position so that her thighs sandwiched one of my knees. I could feel the heat of her private there, and she began humping slowly.
"Only me," she said, eyes ever piercing and glowing.
It wasn't even hot. The seriousness of her eyes stole my breath.
I groped her breast even harder before I removed my knee from between her legs. I stood on the ground and pushed her away. Her chair was movable, so it slid across the floor before stopping at a wall.
When I looked down, I didn't see the magazine anymore. It was gone, as if swallowed by the floor itself.
I transformed slightly. It was pure instinct, I didn't even realize what I did.
It was my body reacting to a sudden threat or danger it sensed.
And Makima sat on her chair, her hands on her armrest as if she was ready to push off and fight. The glow in her eyes was still there.
But she froze when she saw my slight transformation.
"....."
"....."
We stared at each other in tense silence before, eventually, she realized first and reclined on her chair. I followed suit, undoing my small transformation to be human again.
"I apologize," she said, tucking strands of red hair behind her ears, "I made things awkward,"
Yeah you did.
"You can go if you want," she said.
"I will," I said, "Right after you give me back what's mine,"
She smiled widely and cutely. Closed eyes and all that. It was one of those rare times when she smiled with her whole face, not just her lips.
"No,"
..
..
In the end, I just gave up.
