Chapter 4 - Chapter 4

Kimsung looks at the two siblings for a long while, deciding if he should accept their offer or not. He didn't fully understand their intentions, but he could tell whoever it is in his neighbors' bodies are good people. But since they knew his skill, that also meant he could make either choice and see how it pans out without risk. So he decided to take that risk and see where it would take him.

"Alright… I'll hear out your plan. What're we doing?"

He asks, and Heidi smiles, happy that they completed one of their main goals in just a day. She turns the notebook to him and points at what's written down.

"First, we were going to search for you, but since you're here now, we've got that out of the way! Next, we were going to prepare to leave Korea, because what we really need isn't here, but in different parts of the world. Keido and I narrowed down the choices of where we'd travel and who we would ally with once the First Disaster hit. I was thinking that we could go to Wales, to find Dragon King Arthur, and recruit him once he finds Excalibur."

She says, thinking the idea was one of the safer options. Dragon King Arthur was the man who coincidentally found the legendary Z-ranked sword, Excalibur while on a vacation in Wales when the disaster began, and he quickly took power, forming the Camelot faction. With his help, not to mention his transformation-type skill, [Y Ddraig Goch], they'd be able to clear dungeons quickly and grind their way up safely before the third disaster hit England.

Kimsung also knew this, since Arthur's skill gave him a great boost in all-around resistance to all things, including soul-damaging attacks or weapons. But he already had a different person in mind who he'd want to ally with once the disaster struck.

"I think we should instead go to Moscow, for Ana."

He says firmly. The woman he was talking about, Anastasiya would later on become his wife in many of his resets and he was the only person aside from that man to defeat her. She was the Victorious Queen, one who never knew defeat, until she had met him and that man of course. Keido sighs, having thought of their options, and knew that only one of these options was a high risk, high reward.

"I think… We should go to New York. For that man…"

He says, both Kimsung and Heidi went silent immediately after, staring at him like he was insane. Heidi broke the silence again, concerned for her brother's choice.

"Keido… You want to go to New York? New York, the place where the Achilles of America came from? Are you insane? Do you want to die?"

She stands up and walks around the table to him, continuing to speak.

"It's bad enough that he's the smartest character in the novel, but what's even worse is that he figured out Kimsung was a regressor by himself! We don't even know how he did it, but he did it without any word from Kimsung. Even Jamal needed a clue to figure that out!"

Heidi presses on, poking his chest with her nail.

"Do you think it'll be that hard for him to immediately know that we know more about what's going on? Once he does, who knows what he might do? We are not going, got it? Even the Dominican Republic is safer, and that place nearly gets overrun by a huge tsunami!"

She says, both annoyed by the idea and immensely concerned. In nearly every reset after Kimsung begins to obsess over killing Achilles, he always figures out that Kimsung is a regressor even without looking at him. Kimsung himself knows the risk too well, having been shocked by that ten resets ago, but he could help the thought of having his undefeated enemy as his ally this time. He only ever heard about Achilles through Jamal and Armando, and they spoke of him like he was a legendary person, worthy of worship.

In fact, the first time they even mentioned him, was how he led the survivors in America against entire hordes of monsters, constantly coming out on top, dominating each and every battlefield with both his defensive skill, and his own natural skill for combat. He'd heard from Jamal that he watched that man fight entire groups of monsters ranked higher than him and win, not survive, but win, with barely any injuries.

The Achilles of America was a true monster in terms of power, and Kimsung couldn't help but agree that finding him first was both the best option, and also the riskiest. If they successfully got his help, it would make any and every battle, every trial, every gate clearing, and every disaster resolvement a thousand times easier. He himself had felt the terrifying power of that man's domain in the last reset, and it wasn't something he wanted to face ever again if he could help it.

"I think… we should go find him first. Personally, I want him dead, but I'd rather save the world first, and then kill him after. As long as he doesn't find that item, we'll be fine."

A little while later, Kimsung leaves to go continue preparing things on his side. Kiedo and Heidi let out a breath of relief, slouching in their chairs. Heidi speaks up first, wondering why Keido changed his mind.

"Didn't you say before that we weren't going to go somewhere dangerous? Why did you tell him we should go to the states? Don't you remember what happened there? Plus, last I remember, New York City is right next to the ocean."

Keido thinks for a while. His sister is right, and originally, he wasn't planning on going to America. However, if they could get the future strongest person on their team, maybe, just maybe he wouldn't become the villain.

"I don't know, Heidi. I just thought… high risk, high reward. If we get him on our side, maybe he won't turn out the way he did."

Wanting to change the subject, he notices something about his sister, especially how oddly calm and collected she was around Kimsung. He smirks, and speaks in a teasing tone.

"You thought you fooled me, with that little act? Your little crush Kimsung was just here too. Didn't you once tell me you love him so much? That you thought he was the perfect man in your eyes? I can give you two some time alone if you want."

Heidi blushes, turning away in embarrassment.

"I thought I hid it so well…"

She says in a quiet tone. Keido chuckles at his sister's poor attempt at hiding it, since she was always quite vocal about loving Kimsung back when they were in their original world.

"You can't fool me, especially since you gushed over him every time he did something great. But anyways, who should we really-"

Keido doesn't finish his sentence, as his system opens up, strangely enough with choices on screen. There are four of them. To travel to Wales, and find Arthur first. To travel to Moscow, and find Anastasiya first. To travel to Hubei, and find Lin. Finally, to travel to New York, to find Achilles. He looks at the system, a bit surprised he was given actual choices of where to go.

"Hey Heidi, come look at this…"

Heidi walks around the table and sits next to him, looking at the choices, before making a decision.

"I think we should wait for Kimsung tomorrow so we can talk this out."

Keido agrees, nodding his head, and closing the system for now, calling it a day. They'd prepared where to go tomorrow, but first, Keido wanted lunch.
