"The eye that uses Izanagi loses its light. It'll never open again."
"But the number of eyes and the duration of Izanagi vary from person to person. Those were experimental specimens Orochimaru created to forcibly extend the duration."
As Uchiha Obito explained, Hatake Kakashi and Uchiha Sasuke finally learned the name of this jutsu: Izanagi. An ultimate genjutsu. A technique powerful enough to twist reality itself.
Kakashi's eyes went wide. How was that even fair?
It could reverse death?
And this was supposed to be genjutsu?
What kind of secrets were hiding inside the Sharingan?
Susanoo and Amaterasu were already ridiculous, clearly special ocular powers unique to the Sharingan. But now another one popped up—this Izanagi—and it didn't even require some evolved mutation. Three tomoe was enough.
That was completely busted.
Sure, the user went permanently blind in that eye afterward. But if you could come back from the dead, who cared? That was still insanely overpowered.
How was anyone supposed to compete with that?
Every ninja knew how crucial it was to have more than one life. Just look at Danzo. Without those extra lives to trade against Uchiha Sasuke, Sasuke would've beaten him into the ground from the start.
Sasuke basically turned on Gundam mode, and even someone like Danzo—an expert in Wind Release—couldn't break his Susanoo. At the Kage Level, the Uchiha Clan's advantage hadn't shrunk at all. It had only gotten bigger.
The Sharingan could go full Gundam, unlock special ocular jutsu, hypnotize and control Tailed Beasts… it was practically a perfect toolkit.
Same Kage Level, yet Danzo got smacked around like a dog. If not for Izanagi, he would've been dead ten times already.
But thinking about it, wasn't Izanagi also a Uchiha jutsu?
And of course Orochimaru was mixed up in it. That snake was everywhere.
Sasuke was stunned. Even he hadn't known the Sharingan had something this absurd tucked away. After hearing all this, his thoughts condensed into a single conclusion: Damn, my Uchiha Clan is incredible.
In the scene, Shimura Danzo stared coldly at Obito lounging in the distance as he muttered, "Madara doesn't seem interested in fighting. But I can't afford to be careless. I still need enough strength to deal with him. I used my right eye during the summit, so I need time to recover."
"But this Susanoo won't be easy. That bow attack is nearly impossible to dodge, so I can't release Izanagi yet."
Listening to Danzo's internal analysis, the group finally understood why he didn't seem to be going all out. He was wary of Uchiha Madara, who still hadn't made a move.
At this point, the ten or so Sharingan embedded in his arm had dwindled to four.
Meaning he could die four more times at most. After that, he was finished.
Even that was already outrageously cheap. But behind that cheapness was the blood of countless Uchiha Clan members. The thought made Sasuke's eyes burn with fury.
"One minute… summon jutsu." Danzo finally realized he didn't have much time left. He had no choice but to gamble everything.
In an instant, he summoned his beast—Baku. The massive elephant-like creature loomed like a living mountain.
Clearly, the giant Summoned Beasts in the ninja world didn't only come from the three great holy lands.
With its Wind Release assisting it, the colossal beast pinned Sasuke's Susanoo in place as easily as snapping a turtle shell onto the ground.
Danzo immediately launched a Wind Release attack from behind. But at the critical moment, Sasuke countered with Fire Release, dealing heavy damage to Baku before turning around and killing Danzo again.
But Sasuke was also at his limit. He kept coughing blood, and even Susanoo was falling apart.
"Fifty-three, fifty-four, fifty-five, fifty-six, fifty-seven, fifty-eight, fifty-nine, sixty." Uzumaki Karin quietly counted the time. After about a minute, one more Sharingan on Danzo's arm closed… and Danzo revived again.
"One minute?" Uchiha Itachi memorized the intel. For a ninja, battle was a war of information. "Smart girl."
He felt genuinely relieved. Karin wasn't just a sensory ninja who could read Danzo's condition—she provided crucial support from the sidelines.
A girl like that becoming Sasuke's partner was a good thing. And if their future child inherited the Uzumaki Clan's bloodline… that clan didn't seem to have a Kekkei Genkai on the surface, but they were famous for massive chakra and sealing arts.
Their physique and chakra volume were basically a kekkei genkai of their own.
The Uchiha Clan already had more chakra than the average ninja, but compared to the real chakra powerhouses, they fell short. If Sasuke's children could fill that gap… Itachi didn't even dare imagine how powerful the future Uchiha Clan could become.
Uchiha Sarada. A good name.
After one minute, another eye on Danzo's arm closed. At the same time, a huge portion of his chakra vanished. That was the price of using Izanagi.
Which also meant the duration of his invulnerable state was something that could be calculated.
"So while the technique is active, every negative outcome turns into something favorable… but whether he dies or not, he still burns one Sharingan at fixed intervals?" Kakashi finally began to grasp how Izanagi worked.
Sasuke saw it too. He immediately launched another assault on Danzo. He couldn't stop. Danzo could end Izanagi at any moment, and if he did, he'd still be at peak condition. Sasuke was the one who'd collapse first.
So both sides needed to resolve the battle quickly.
"Sasuke keeps attacking with the strongest, fastest Susanoo possible to force Danzo to maintain Izanagi and shorten its duration. Sasuke already figured it out. Victory comes down to who collapses first."
As if to confirm Obito's words, the fight shifted from large-scale jutsu clashes to tight exchanges of Wind Release and Lightning Release.
"For that arm… how many Uchiha did you slaughter?" Sasuke roared as he charged in.
