Story: On New Year's Day 2011, local councilor Reynaldo Dagsa was taking a family photo outside his home. Amid the fireworks and celebrations, a gunman fired a single .45 caliber shot. Dagsa collapsed and later died. With no eyewitnesses and the gunshot masked by firecrackers, the murder seemed unsolvable. đž
Twist: The final photo on Dagsa's camera, taken a split second before he was shot, captured the smiling faces of his wife and daughter; and behind them, clearly visible, a man in a baseball cap aiming a pistol directly at the camera. The flash had illuminated the killer. Using this evidence, police identified and arrested the shooter, Arnel Buenaflor, and his accomplice within days. The image became one of the most chilling pieces of forensic evidence in history, a victim unintentionally photographing his own murderer in the act. đ«
