Chapter 37 - Chapter 39

The small fragment of hellfire inside Yuriko was extracted—and surprisingly, Ghost Rider showed no extreme reaction. He seemed to have expected this.

Riding his flaming motorcycle, he roared toward Lu Yi.

Powered by hellfire, the motorcycle was unbelievably fast, and in an instant, it closed the distance to the unreactive Lu Yi.

The blazing hellfire seemed only moments away from engulfing Lu Yi—promising judgment and soul-burning agony.

But in that instant, Lu Yi suddenly grabbed the wreckage of an armored vehicle beside him—and swatted Ghost Rider away with a single palm strike.

Boom!

Like swatting away a fly, Ghost Rider was sent flying. The hellfire-infused motorcycle exploded into cinders, its burning fragments scattering across the ground, igniting wherever they landed, dragging streaks of fire along their path.

Ghost Rider lay on the ground, his skeletal body severely damaged, his flames extinguished.

"Is he dead already?" Yuriko asked in surprise after recovering.

"No," Lu Yi replied.

As if to confirm his words—flames erupted once again from Ghost Rider's body. The scattered bone fragments rose, drawn back by an unseen force, reassembling themselves as his form rapidly restored.

The cracks gradually vanished. Ghost Rider stood again—reborn.

The only difference was that the hellfire burning on his body seemed visibly dimmer.

"Heh-heh…"

Ghost Rider's jaw moved slightly, as if mocking Lu Yi's futile effort, emitting a harsh, distorted laugh.

"Master, let me kill him!" Yuriko shouted angrily before Lu Yi could even respond.

In Yuriko's eyes, Lu Yi was everything—her god.

And since her god had been challenged, she, as a follower, would never allow it.

"You're not tall enough—and he's not your opponent," Lu Yi said calmly, evading Ghost Rider's flaming chain whip.

"What do you mean?"

"If the opponent were made of flesh, you'd have no problem killing him. But he's not—and he still carries the power of hellfire. You're a close-combat fighter, you are not fit to face him."

Hearing this, Yuriko wanted to argue—but before she could speak, Ghost Rider struck again.

This time, dozens of bullets surrounded by hellfire rained down like a storm, interrupting her words.

Ghost Rider seemed to realize his chains were too slow to hit Lu Yi. So he picked up a deformed Gatling gun lying on the battlefield—and infused it with hellfire.

Hellfire could transform objects—mechanical or not. Under its influence, the damaged Gatling gun was restored and reforged into something far more sinister.

The six barrels were wreathed in hellfire, and hideous demonic engravings emerged across its frame.Just like his motorcycle, the gun now radiated a twisted, eerie style.

"Heh-heh…"

Amid the hellfire's crackling, Ghost Rider laughed horribly, gripping the weapon infused with burning, flaming rounds.

"Disarm."

Before Ghost Rider's laugh even faded, a strange force surged toward the gun. In an instant, it flew out of his hands—ripped away by an unseen power.

"What—?"

Ghost Rider stared at his empty hands in disbelief. He had no idea why his weapon left him—something like that had never happened before.

"Upside down!"

Before he could process what happened, his body suddenly shot upward, flipped midair—and then slammed back into the ground uncontrollably.

"What is happening?!"

Ghost Rider was utterly baffled.

He had no idea why—he only saw Lu Yi's lips move, saying a few words—and suddenly, everything turned against him.

"Shatter to pieces. Shatter—to pieces."

This time, Lu Yi spoke eight words.

The moment the words were spoken, a powerful tearing force surged from within Ghost Rider's body, breaking him apart. It wasn't physical destruction—it was a force that threatened to tear his very existence apart.

"Is he dead now?" Yuriko asked, staring at the remains of Ghost Rider.

"No. It's not that easy to kill him. But this works too—I can study him. Creatures of evil like this are not easy to come by."

Yuriko looked at Lu Yi curiously, wondering what he intended to do.

"Guardian's Prophecy!"

Lu Yi didn't disappoint. He raised his hand, casting the spell.

A beam of light shot from his fingertips, expanding in the air—gradually forming into a majestic, lifelike dragon, glowing with milky-white radiance. It roared silently and dove straight at the recovering Ghost Rider.

"Ahhh!"

The dragon struck Ghost Rider in the chest. He let out a sharp scream—as thick black smoke burst from his body. A huge cavity appeared in his chest.

Strangely—unlike before—this time the wound didn't heal.

"It actually worked!"
