At the critical moment, Harry used the Mirror Dimension to successfully isolate the hostages, defeat Dr. Lizard, and neutralize that terrifying crisis.
Tens of thousands of people had already learned about the incident. The news spread from one to ten, from ten to a hundred, and the government couldn't possibly cover it up—so they could only repackage the story and announce it publicly. And with that, the image of a sorcerer whose face was shrouded in mist appeared before the masses.
As a result, Harry was given a superhero title by the public. Coincidentally, that title was "Sorcerer Supreme."
For some reason, Harry always felt like his teacher had been pushing things behind the scenes—she couldn't wait to retire already!
After defeating Dr. Lizard, the lizard serum Dr. Lizard had developed was taken away by Tony and S.H.I.E.L.D., with both sides researching it separately.
Harry had no interest in the lizard serum. He cut off Dr. Lizard's tail and handed it to Tony for research, then forced a contract onto Dr. Lizard and took him in as lackey number two.
After that, for a stretch of time, Harry threw himself into researching new magic, and his strength rose dramatically.
First, Hedwig—after Harry's constant "training"—saw a huge increase in processing power. And the amount of magic he could manipulate also doubled, thanks to the tireless efforts of his borrowers.
More importantly, by pure chance, he discovered the essence of world-hopping!
As the amount of magic he could control increased, Harry's understanding of chaos magic deepened further and further.
He discovered that if he used a massive amount of chaos magic to construct an observation array, he could observe strange, eerie scenes.
For instance, Harry saw an Earth wrapped in a protective barrier, with indescribable outer gods drifting through space around it.
Inside that Earth, by coincidence, he even saw a Beyonder who had also taken an Assassin potion.
And there was another world—an Academy City with technology far more advanced than the modern era—where a flat-chested middle school girl in shorts snapped her fingers and fired an electromagnetic railgun identical to his own.
So Harry talked with the Sorcerer Supreme through the night, and in the end they reached a conclusion:
The power within Harry was not, as they had previously believed, the Chaos Force—one of the three ancient powers within the multiverse.
Instead, it was a chaos source power that transcended the multiverse itself, originating from infinite worlds beyond.
They didn't know why this power had latched onto him, nor why he could wield it—but they were already able to infer some of what this chaos source power could do.
First: traveling between worlds. Harry was able to move back and forth between two worlds precisely because of the chaos source power.
Second: observing worlds. Unlike traveling between worlds, Harry still couldn't control that world-hopping ability at will—but by using vast amounts of chaos magic to build an observation array, he could now observe other worlds.
Most likely, even back when he couldn't actively observe worlds yet, that ability had been working all along. It was also because he drew inspiration from other worlds that he invented the Assassin potion and the electromagnetic railgun.
After gaining the ability to observe worlds, Harry immersed himself in it for a long time.
Especially after he discovered some particularly "interesting" worlds—worlds where extremely powerful, rule-based abilities existed, like time stop, hypnosis, invisibility, erasing one's presence, and so on…
Ahem. It had to be said—those worlds really opened Harry's eyes.
When summer break ended, Harry, Gwen, and Peter were officially college students. With their outstanding grades, nearly every school had its doors wide open to them, letting them choose freely.
In the end, considering distance, they chose Columbia University.
That night, between the forest of skyscrapers, two figures streaked through the air.
They flew fast, looking down over New York as they searched for signs of crime—Harry and Gwen.
According to the data from the Web of Life and Destiny, Harry had found a powerful Spider-Man named Spider-Man: Captain Universe, who could manipulate cosmic energy and use it to fly.
Harry used chaos magic to mimic that ability, then lent it to Gwen—so Gwen gained the power of flight as well.
Today, Gwen wanted to experience what it felt like to be a superhero, so the two of them went out late at night.
In fact, this had happened many times already.
Ever since learning her boyfriend was the Sorcerer Supreme, Gwen had been desperate to have a superhero title of her own.
Some time ago, because Gwen frequently appeared alongside the Sorcerer Supreme—and her face was also concealed by gray mist—she finally earned the title "Supreme Heroine."
Suddenly, Harry noticed what looked like a crime happening in an alley. He immediately said to Gwen, "Hey, Gwen—look over there. Something's off."
The two of them dropped from above and plunged into the alley.
Inside, several drunk men were grappling with a young woman. Surprisingly, the drunks were completely losing, getting pummeled nonstop.
The girl was tall. Her figure wasn't the thin, delicate type of a traditional supermodel, but it was tight and powerful, full of athletic strength.
Based on her clearly superhuman strength, Harry came to a conclusion: this girl was very likely enhanced—because her power was far beyond normal.
Behind her, a man watched with burning eyes. Seeing the girl fully dominating, he yelled like a madman, "Good girl, keep going—kill them!"
Harry found the man strange.
He had a head of sinister-looking purple hair, wore a deep purple suit, and even his pupils were a dark violet. His gaze was cold and oppressive, enough to make your skin crawl.
By the time Harry and Gwen landed, the drunks were already spitting blood—two or three of them barely breathing.
Even so, the girl kept hitting them, and her movements were stiff, like she was deliberately torturing them.
How could kind-hearted Gwen ignore that?
She shouted, "Stop!"
Gwen's shout instantly drew the man's attention—but for some reason, the girl kept beating the drunks as if she hadn't heard a word.
The man slowly turned around, his eyes landing on Harry and Gwen.
In that instant, his pupils shrank violently out of his control, and a flash of greed surged from deep in his eyes—as if he'd just seen an incomparable treasure.
But that greed vanished in a blink, suppressed without showing a trace. Then he immediately switched into a pitiful, victimized act, his voice trembling with urgency as he shouted:
"Oh my God! It's the famous Sorcerer Supreme and Supreme Heroine—you're finally here! Please, help this young lady! If she hadn't stepped in, I would've been beaten to death by these insane thugs!"
While he spoke, Harry's brows faintly knitted together. He sharply caught a barely-there, drifting substance in the air.
Sensing that strange aura, a hint of amusement flashed through Harry's eyes, and the corner of his mouth rose slightly.
Interesting!
