Chapter 105 - Chapter 105: No, I’m Going Home!

The Lizard was hidden in the dark, watching the front lines with intense focus.

At this point, he was no longer the ordinary human scientist he once was—he had completely fallen into becoming a terrifying mutated monster.

If Tony could see what he looked like right now, he would be utterly dumbstruck. Compared to a normal lizard, his body was a hulking behemoth, over three meters tall—his sheer mass was shocking.

Every inch of him was packed with corded muscle, overflowing with brute power. His tail lashed the concrete ground from time to time, and each swing shattered大片 sections of the surface with a heavy, muffled boom.

Just from the fact that his tail could casually smash concrete, it was obvious that even if his physical strength was slightly inferior to Abomination's, the gap wouldn't be big.

Right now, a delicate metal headband was strapped tightly to his forehead—his partner, the Leader, had painstakingly developed and gifted him this mind-control device.

With this mind controller, he could command those brainless green-skin soldiers like he was playing a game. All it took was a tiny shift of thought, and his orders would be delivered with precision.

Now that he controlled nearly a hundred green-skin soldiers, each with strength comparable to Captain America, his confidence had never been higher.

Even knowing S.H.I.E.L.D. agents were waiting ahead to intercept him, he felt no fear whatsoever.

Nearly a hundred green-skin soldiers were an unstoppable blade. With a single command from him, they would surge forward like a tidal wave and tear every agent into pieces in an instant!

Once that insignificant obstacle was cleared, he could begin the great path of human evolution.

Flesh is weak. Ascend through genes!

The transformation brought by the lizard serum—this was the only true road for humanity to break its shackles and achieve a qualitative leap!

In the blink of an eye, under the Lizard's feverish gaze, nearly a hundred green-skin soldiers surged forward like a roaring green tide, charging straight at the S.H.I.E.L.D. agents.

The distance between both sides shrank rapidly, and a violent collision was about to erupt!

However, once they clashed, things didn't unfold the way the Lizard expected at all—instead, it took a complete one-eighty!

First came Hawkeye. After signing the contract, with Hedwig's support, he successfully constructed a basic electromagnetic railgun sigil.

The moment the blue sigil formed, it erupted with powerful energy fluctuations. Crackling current hissed like a living blue dragon, instantly wrapping itself around an arrow.

Whoosh!

With a sharp screech, the arrow—boosted by electricity—shot out like a lightning bolt, moving too fast to track.

Its power was still a step below the electromagnetic railgun Harry could unleash, but against the green-skins' supposedly tough, rough hide, it was like a blade slicing through thin paper.

Under Hawkeye's near-human-limit precision, the energy-laden arrow drew a perfect arc through the air and pierced through three green-skins' skulls in a single shot.

The lizard-men truly did possess astonishing self-healing. Against ordinary injuries, their bodies could visibly knit themselves back together at alarming speed.

But that didn't mean they were immortal. No matter how tough they were, the brain was still their most fragile, fatal weak point!

With three dull thuds, three green-skins collapsed like puppets with their strings cut, slamming into the ground and kicking up dust.

Seeing them drop, the Lizard was genuinely startled. He hadn't expected Hawkeye to be capable of this—the arrows wrapped in powerful current were far more destructive than he'd imagined.

So what if a bow could kill a few?

With sheer numbers crushing the enemy, S.H.I.E.L.D. had no chance!

He still believed victory was guaranteed!

But very quickly, a figure completely wrapped in blinding lightning stole everyone's attention.

The Lizard's pupils shrank sharply. With the detailed intel the Leader had generously provided, he recognized the man almost instantly—S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Crossbones.

But in the intel, Crossbones was nothing special—just an ordinary soldier at best, with extremely refined combat skills. Under absolute power, he shouldn't even be able to beat a single lizard-man.

So what was this?

Was this still the Crossbones he knew?!

Crossbones was a bolt of lightning on the battlefield, sprinting at terrifying speed. The moment he spotted a lizard-man, he flung a dazzling sphere of lightning without hesitation.

The lightning orb detonated—like an upgraded flashbang—instantly blinding any lizard-men unlucky enough to look at it.

Then he gripped his twin blades in both hands. Blue arcs of electricity danced along the steel as he carved from the reservoir's edge straight into the nearby woods, his body splattered with lizard blood.

WTF?!

What is this?

What kind of garbage intel did the Leader hand him?!

The Crossbones in front of him, wreathed in lightning from head to toe, didn't look like an ordinary human at all!

The Lizard forced himself to calm down, a vicious glint flashing through his eyes.

Still—everything was under control.

He still believed he could win!

He calculated quickly: no matter how strong Crossbones was, he couldn't fight a hundred by himself.

All he needed was to send three lizard-men to tie him down—using their powerful regeneration, avoiding direct confrontation, and keeping him locked in place.

The overall situation was already decided. This little burst of power wouldn't change the final outcome.

But before the Lizard could even recover from Crossbones' shock, a flash of cold light cut through his vision like lightning.

He turned toward the sound—and saw dagger after dagger shooting out from the crown of a lush, leafy tree at an astonishing speed.

Those daggers looked alive, tracing vicious arcs through the air. And at the end of every arc was a lizard-man's head.

With howling force, the daggers plunged into skulls with perfect accuracy. The impact alone shredded brains into mush.

For a moment, amid dull impacts, lizard-men collapsed one after another. Blood sprayed across grass and tree trunks—bloody, brutal, and shockingly intense.

If that was all, fine—daggers were limited in number, after all.

But—

Why were those daggers pulling themselves out automatically?!

With a jolt, the daggers embedded in lizard brains tore free and flew back out.

Some shot back into the treetop. Others immediately streaked toward new targets.

In the span of a blink, five or six more lizard-men dropped under those ghostlike blades, twitching a few times before going still.

The Lizard was completely dumbfounded. Everything in front of him felt like an absurd nightmare he couldn't understand at all.

What the hell was happening?

In the space of a heartbeat, the S.H.I.E.L.D. agents had seemingly been reborn—ordinary law enforcers turning into super soldiers, each one packed with insane combat power and their own terrifying specialty.

Had the government achieved some unprecedented breakthrough in super-soldier research again?

Still… he should still have the advantage!

Just as he stood there confused and at a loss, a familiar figure entered his sight.

Coulson.

That S.H.I.E.L.D. agent who was usually all smiles, always giving off a friendly, approachable vibe.

But right now, Coulson looked like a completely different person.

He held a mysterious array of sigils and hovered in the air, robes fluttering in the wind. Even his bald head somehow carried the aura of a true powerhouse now. With each sweep of his hand, he cleaved out bolt after bolt of lightning.

Under that terrifying lightning assault, more than a dozen lizard-men were instantly swallowed up. They shrieked miserably as their bodies twisted and convulsed under the raging thunder, utterly unable to withstand that power.

Coulson alone completely suppressed over a dozen lizard-men, leaving them with zero ability to fight back.

"Damn it…" the Lizard cursed under his breath, disbelief written all over his face. Wasn't Coulson an intel-department agent?

How the hell did he suddenly turn into something with this kind of terrifying combat power?

How was he supposed to win like this?!

But before the Lizard could recover from that overwhelming shock, an even more astonishing change erupted on the battlefield.

At the very center, the ground shook violently. Then countless massive boulders burst up from underground.

They rose into the air, collided, fused together—

And finally condensed into a stone giant over ten meters tall!

This enormous stone giant was like a moving mountain, easily weighing over a thousand tons. Every time it lifted its foot and brought it down, the earth trembled as if it couldn't bear the weight, collapsing into huge, horrifying craters.

When the stone giant met the first lizard-man head-on, it casually threw a punch.

The wind of the blow howled, carrying crushing force.

The lizard-man that got hit flew like a kite with its string snapped, launching sideways and slamming hard into the ground.

The impact drove it straight into the earth, as if an invisible force had crushed it flat—turning it into a twisted "painting" pressed into the soil, mangled beyond recognition.

The Lizard stood there completely frozen, eyes bulging wide with terror and disbelief.

He opened his mouth but couldn't make a sound. It was like something had jammed in his throat. Only one thought spun endlessly in his mind:

What kind of freakish power is this?!

Guaranteed win?

Guaranteed loss!

How did the world suddenly become like this?!

No. I want to go home!

The Lizard knew it in his gut: something earthshaking must have happened inside S.H.I.E.L.D. during this time—something so secret that even the Leader didn't know.

Otherwise, given how closely he and the Leader were working together, there was no way the Leader wouldn't have told him this key information.

The more he thought about it, the darker the Lizard's expression became. With the situation as it was now, his near-hundred lizard-men wouldn't even be enough for the stone giant alone to slaughter, let alone all the other powerful superhumans present.

But he still had a second backup plan!

With a single order from the Lizard, sewer manhole covers were forced open one after another. Huge lizard-men crawled out in a line, their bodies reeking of slime and rot.

These lizards moved fast. They darted to the ropes that had been set up in advance, hooked them with sharp claws, and began yanking with all their strength!
