Chapter 103 - Chapter 103: Back to the Multiverse!

The instant Harry stepped into the Room of Requirement, a vast surge of magic rushed over him—like a boundless ocean—engulfing him in a heartbeat.

This magic was so pure it was nearly absolute. Compared to the mixed, messy magic inside ordinary witches and wizards, it was worlds apart—and astonishingly similar to the unique power within Harry himself.

There was no doubt about it: this was chaos magic. And the amount stored here was downright immense, far beyond the amount of magic Harry could personally manipulate.

After probing it, Harry realized that within the Room of Requirement, many powerful ancient enchantments had been fixed in place. Like the Marauder's Map, they were linked to Hogwarts itself and could draw upon Hogwarts' magic.

However, the Room of Requirement and the Marauder's Map were fundamentally different.

The Marauder's Map merely borrowed Hogwarts' ancient magic to perform its tracking function, but the Room of Requirement could store and absorb magic.

From the moment it was created, it had been continuously absorbing chaos magic from the outside world and refining it.

Over a thousand years of accumulation had made that once-murky chaos magic increasingly pure. And with such an enormous quantity, a qualitative change finally occurred—allowing it, like Harry, to permanently create objects!

That was the Room of Requirement's basic operating logic.

Beside him, Fred saw Harry freeze and asked, "Harry, what do you think? Are the conditions here good enough—can it meet what you need?"

Harry snapped back to himself. His smile grew even brighter, and he said excitedly, "Of course. It's more than enough. I'll have results for you very soon!"

With the Room of Requirement's support, both potion research and magical research advanced at a terrifying speed.

In just two weeks, Harry achieved a major breakthrough.

He developed the complete formulas for the Assassin potion and the sex-change potion—and he handed the sex-change potion formula over to the twins.

The twins were thrilled. They promised they would never give the formula to anyone else, and they vowed that once they started earning money from it in the future, they would give most of the profits to Harry.

After all, they didn't want to open a shop to get rich—they wanted to bring more happiness to everyone.

As for magic research, because Harry had poured all his energy into the Assassin potion during this period, his progress on spells had stagnated. He decided he would return to magic research later.

That day, Harry took out the prepared Assassin potion. After confirming there were no issues, he tilted his head back and drank it in one gulp.

The metallic stench of blood and the bitter astringency of herbs exploded across his tongue, almost unbearable.

But once the initial wave of pain passed, a wonderful rush of pleasure followed. Under the potion's influence, his body transformed rapidly. Harry felt his already impressive strength surge upward again, his control over his body increasing dramatically—so much so that he could instantly compress all his power into a single strike and unleash it in one burst.

On top of that, his perception of shadows skyrocketed. At this moment, he could grasp shadow magic far more easily.

"Mmm. Very nice. If an ordinary person drank the Assassin potion, they'd probably have Captain America-level strength, right? And this is only the first potion—there'll be a second, a third… I wonder just how far this entire series can ultimately go?"

The bell rang to signal the end of Herbology, and students poured out of the classroom like a tide. Harry, Hermione, and Ron blended into the crowd, chatting about mandrake cultivation techniques as they strolled along at an unhurried pace.

Suddenly, Harry felt as if an invisible thread had gently tugged at him. His steps jerked to a stop—but only for a single second. He immediately returned to normal, walking on with a calm expression as though nothing had happened.

That familiar tremor of the soul exploded in his mind again without warning.

After some time… he was going to cross worlds once more.

Morning arrived. Warm sunlight spilled softly across the land, draping the earth in a glittering veil of gold.

The sky was clear and bright, blue like forget-me-not petals. A light breeze passed by, carrying the fresh scent of grass and leaves, mixed with a faint warmth unique to summer.

All at once, Ron stopped and pointed ahead, staring in shock. "Look! Th-that… is that Hagrid? He actually came out of the library!"

Hagrid just didn't look like the type of wizard who enjoyed studying. The idea of Hagrid sitting quietly in the library reading was so wrong that their minds simply couldn't assemble an image like that.

The three of them hurried forward and stopped him. Hermione asked curiously, "Hagrid, what were you doing in the library just now?"

The moment Hagrid saw the trio, he quickly hid something behind his back. He was wearing a moleskin overcoat, which looked completely out of place.

"Just… looking around," Hagrid said, eyes darting back and forth. Harry only needed one glance to be sure Hagrid was lying.

After Hagrid hurried off, Ron couldn't let it go. He grabbed Harry's arm and insisted, "No, I have to know what Hagrid was reading! We've gotta go take a look in the library!"

The three of them rushed to the library, and before long, in a corner, they found a messy pile of books: "Dragon Breeds of Britain and Ireland," "From Dragon Egg to Inferno," "A Guide to Raising Dragons"… and more.

Hermione looked puzzled and couldn't help asking, "Do you think… Hagrid's planning to raise a dragon?"

"That's illegal!" Ron immediately blurted out. "At the Wizarding Council in 1709, an act was officially passed banning the keeping of dragons. Everyone knows that!"

"So what on earth is Hagrid trying to do?" Hermione tilted her head slightly, a strand of hair falling along her cheek.

An hour later, the three of them arrived at the gamekeeper's hut—and were startled to find that every curtain had been pulled shut, sealed tight with not a crack of light, as if Hagrid were deliberately hiding something.

They exchanged confused looks, and Hermione stepped forward to knock.

"Who is it?" Hagrid's familiar voice came from inside, cautious and guarded.

"It's us, Hagrid! Harry, Ron, and Hermione," Harry replied.

Hearing it was them, there was a small clatter from inside—like Hagrid hurriedly tidying something away.

After a moment, the door opened a crack. Hagrid stuck his head out, and once he confirmed it was really them, he let them in. He immediately shut the door again and even slid the bolt into place, like he was afraid something might slip in the second he looked away.

The hut was suffocatingly hot—hotter than summer itself. Even though it was a warm, sunny day, a roaring fire still blazed inside.

Hagrid made them tea and brought out stoat sandwiches. Aside from the tea, they refused.

Ron was the first to crack. He asked impatiently, "Hagrid, why were you looking up all those dragon books? Don't tell me you really plan to raise a dragon?"

"Ah… well, er…" Hagrid panicked at once. His eyes flicked around, he didn't dare meet Ron's gaze, and his hands started rubbing together in front of him—anyone could see his guilt a mile away.

At that moment, Hermione lifted her hand and fanned herself, trying to push away the sticky heat clinging to her skin. Tiny beads of sweat had already formed on her forehead as she grumbled, "Hagrid, can you open a window? I'm roasting!"

It was a perfectly normal request—but Hagrid's reaction was extreme.

When he heard that, he flinched as if burned, shaking his head like a rattle drum. "No, Hermione—sorry. Can't."

Harry noticed that as Hagrid spoke, he glanced toward the fireplace. Harry turned his head as well.

"Hagrid, what's that?" At that moment, Harry's eyes locked onto something in the very center of the flames.

There was a huge, blackened egg, pressed beneath a kettle, half-hidden among the leaping firelight. If you weren't paying close attention, it would've been easy to miss.

Once it had been spotted, Hagrid's face crumpled. He pleaded, "It's a Norwegian Ridgeback egg. I've always wanted to raise a dragon… can you not tell the professors?"

"A dragon?" Harry was intrigued.

He walked over and prodded the egg with a stick. The shell was hard—like steel. He could sense a decent amount of magic inside it.

Harry's eyes shifted, and a thought flashed through his mind. A sly smile appeared as he said to Hagrid, "Sure. We won't tell the professors. I can even use an Undetectable Extension Charm to make a huge space specifically for magical creatures to live in—just like Newt Scamander's suitcase. But… you have to agree to one thing."

"Newt Scamander's suitcase? Oh, Merlin's beard, that's incredible!" Hagrid's eyes lit up. "What d'you want me to do? Just say it!"

"It's like this," Harry said, finally revealing his true goal. "Lately I've been planning to go into the Forbidden Forest. I want to properly improve Hermione's real combat ability. You have to let us in."

"W-what? Into the Forbidden Forest… and me too?" Hermione looked completely at a loss.

Harry comforted her. "Don't worry, I'll protect you. Only real combat will help you grow faster."

"I'll do my best!" With Harry's reassurance, Hermione immediately pushed past her fear, clenching her fist to encourage herself.

"No, I won't allow it. It's far too dangerous!" Hagrid snapped back to his senses from his excitement and shook his head quickly.

Harry had expected that. He grinned wickedly. "Hagrid… you don't want the professors finding out you're raising a dragon, do you?"

At that, it was as if Hagrid's backbone had been yanked right out. His head drooped instantly. After a long silence, he finally gave in. "All right… I'll let you in. But it's too dangerous. I'd better go with you—then I can rest easier too."

"Of course!"

——————

When the last trace of sunset faded from the horizon, night fell like a massive, heavy sheet of black velvet, spreading across the sky and silently wrapping the Forbidden Forest in darkness.

Two young wizards and a young witch crept out of the gamekeeper's hut, where they met a fully armed Hagrid.

Tonight, under the guidance of the experienced Hagrid, Harry, Hermione, and Ron were about to step into that mysterious, unpredictable Forbidden Forest.

This trip had two main goals.

First, it was to train Hermione—to help her grow, so that one day she could shoulder the responsibility of becoming the Sorcerer Supreme of the wizarding world.

Second, Harry needed to find unicorns. He wanted to study the innate magic of unicorns and use it to improve the Repairing Charm, hoping it could be applied to the human body as well.

As for Ron… he was basically there to make up the numbers. If he hadn't kept pestering Harry, Harry wouldn't have brought him along at all.

Before they set off, Hagrid warned them again, "The Forbidden Forest is dangerous. Don't you dare leave my sight!"

"Don't worry, Hagrid. We'll stay right by your side," Harry said with a nod and a smile.

Hagrid nodded and pushed the door open first, stepping out. Hermione followed closely behind.

And then Harry—just as one foot crossed the threshold—

In an instant, the entire world spun.

When he focused again, he found himself in a corner of a city—where several huge lizards were devouring pedestrians right in front of him!
