Even knowing he was protected by a magic barrier, Tony was still a little scared.
No one knew Magic Armor 1's performance better than he did. Even in the hands of someone like Obadiah, who couldn't use magic, it could unleash terrifying power.
That was exactly why Obadiah had been able to beat him so easily.
Tony couldn't help worrying: could this magic barrier really withstand a full-power strike from Magic Armor 1?
The next second, the energy beam slammed into the transparent barrier.
To both Tony and Obadiah's shock, the beam that could easily demolish a house had absolutely no effect when it hit the transparent shield. All it did was send out faint, barely visible ripples across the surface.
At that moment, a teasing voice rang out above their heads. "Can baby Tony still get up? Looks like he can't."
Seeing Harry hovering there on his flying broom, Tony finally relaxed completely. "Harry, thanks. You saved me again. I owe you yet another one."
"Then hurry up and make me a new set of magic armor. This one looks pretty good." Harry eyed Magic Armor 1 up and down. "It's cool. I think I'm starting to like it."
"Sure—if we had enough Uru alloy."
Off to the side, Obadiah was furious at how casually the two of them were chatting, completely ignoring him like he was air.
But when he noticed Harry was literally flying around on a broom, Obadiah realized Harry wasn't an ordinary person. Forcing himself to be patient, he tried to win him over.
"Mr. Potter, I'm honestly surprised. I never imagined you were a wizard.
"You're very capable. Why make yourself my enemy? Compared to Tony, I can give you so much more.
"As long as you walk away right now and stay out of this little personal feud between Tony and me, I'll transfer ten percent of my shares to you."
"Ten percent?" Harry lowered his head as if thinking it over, and just as Obadiah thought he had him, Harry suddenly said with open disdain, "Who exactly do you think you're looking down on?"
Obadiah: "???"
Harry flicked his wand, pointing it at a scrap of metal.
Obadiah felt like his worldview was cracking—because that piece of metal turned into a fist-sized lump of gold.
Harry spread his hands. "Mr. Obadiah, I don't need that much wealth, and I don't believe there's anything you can give me that Tony can't give me more of.
"With your mediocre magical aptitude, I'd gain nothing in terms of magical experience. With your pig-level IQ, you couldn't push magic armor to evolve in any meaningful way. And that wealth you're so proud of? I can get it anytime I want. So you're of absolutely no value to me."
Obadiah's face went dark in an instant. As someone of such high standing, when had anyone ever mocked him so brazenly?
"Then die!"
He instantly leveled his repulsor at Harry. The fully charged cannon flared, hurling a blazing high-energy beam straight at him.
But instead of harming Harry, the beam vanished into a suddenly appearing ring of light—and then reappeared behind Obadiah, slamming into him and blasting him into a wall.
Obadiah clawed his way out of the rubble, stunned. "What was that just now?"
Harry had no intention of answering. Magic circles flowed down his wand, and dazzling golden light wrapped around it, shaping itself into a razor-sharp longsword.
The Holy Sword of the Vishanti.
Amplified by the wand, the Holy Sword of the Vishanti Harry conjured was a full two meters long.
The sword hewed through high-energy beams one after another, scattered sparks of energy bursting like fireworks in the air.
"Dammit!" Seeing his shots blocked so easily, Obadiah felt a surge of fear. This was a realm he didn't understand at all.
He remembered how Tony had been dabbling in "magic" some time ago, and he'd thought Tony had finally gone insane.
Could magic actually be real?
Runes and the arc reactor together powered the chest-mounted cannon, and a blazing lance of high-energy light burst forth.
Putting on a show of bravado to hide his fear, Obadiah bellowed, "Fuck! There's no such thing as magic. It's just more advanced technology!"
Facing a high-energy beam that represented the current pinnacle of Earth's technology, Harry simply pointed his wand at Obadiah and met it head-on.
"Avada Gnaw-a-Melon!"
The gleaming green ray that could unravel anything struck the high-energy beam.
The blast that could punch through a skyscraper didn't even get the chance to erupt—it was torn apart on contact.
The point where emerald met blinding white rushed toward Obadiah in an instant.
"No, no, no—this can't be real! I don't believe it!" The sight in front of him drove Obadiah completely mad. Fear clung to him like a swamp, dragging him down. "How can magic exist in this world?!"
But no matter how much he refused to believe it, the facts were right there before his eyes. All he could do was rage helplessly, with no way to change anything.
Ignoring the foolish Muggle who, just a few hours ago, had still been standing at the very pinnacle of society, Harry turned to Tony. "So, what do we do with him?"
Given how tangled Obadiah's relationship with Tony was, Harry felt Tony should be the one to decide his final fate.
Tony clenched his fist, staring at Obadiah in confusion and pain. After a moment, he sighed. "Let him spend the rest of his life in prison."
Harry nodded. In the blink of an eye he vanished from where he hovered and reappeared right in front of Obadiah.
Magic tinged his skin a shimmering gold, and his enhanced physique allowed him to swing the sword in a blazing golden arc.
Rip!
Metal shrieked as it tore. The ultra-durable Uru alloy split like paper under the Holy Sword of the Vishanti, leaving a massive gash down the center of the freshly completed magic armor.
"No!" Obadiah tried to struggle, but Harry merely snapped his fingers. A wave of powerful telekinesis pinned him in place, cutting off any movement.
Pointing his wand at Obadiah, Harry focused his telekinesis on the armor's crack. The force wrenched it open, ripping it apart and exposing Obadiah's bloodied face.
Realizing it was all over, Obadiah's last pretense of toughness crumbled. "No, no, please—let me go. I'll give you all my shares. All of them!"
Harry shook his head. "You stupid bald Muggle. I already told you—wealth doesn't have much appeal for me. It just makes my life more convenient, that's all."
He snapped his fingers again, and a portal opened under Obadiah's feet. A matching portal opened high in the air above him.
Obadiah fell… and kept falling, endlessly cycling between the two portals.
Harry even thoughtfully sealed his mouth, to keep his screaming from disturbing the neighbors.
Tony struggled to his feet, each step shedding another metal fragment from his battered armor.
He slowly walked up to the falling Obadiah, stopped, and stared at his face with a complicated expression.
"When I was a kid, he took care of everything for me. Every detail. We were as close as family. It never should've come to this, us standing on opposite sides like this."
Hearing such sincere words, Harry felt a pang of sympathy and nodded slightly, sighing. "What a shame about the magic armor, though."
Tony: "…"
