In one of the great halls of Kamar-Taj, Harry told the Sorcerer Supreme about how he'd gone back to the wizarding world two days ago, and also shared the spells and related magical knowledge from that world.
The Sorcerer Supreme showed no trace of surprise. Harry realized his teacher had already expected this to happen, so he asked, "Teacher, you knew this would happen all along?"
Setting the teacup back on the table, the Sorcerer Supreme confirmed Harry's guess.
"Indeed. If you can appear in this world, there's no reason you can't return to the world you originally came from.
"Besides, your fate can't be observed, and there's no trace of you on the timelines. I've been expecting this day for a long time."
"Then… do you think what I've done is right?" Harry was a little nervous. "Back in the wizarding world I've been developing borrowers, trying to change its backward policies so that the wizarding world can grow stronger and be ready in case dimensional demon gods appear in the future."
Sensing how tense her disciple was, the Sorcerer Supreme gave Harry a kindly look and calmly topped off his tea.
Under her influence, Harry's emotions slowly settled. He no longer felt such a desperate need to win his teacher's approval.
The Sorcerer Supreme nodded. Her voice was still as gentle and warm as ever, far more approachable than Coulson's could ever be.
"You haven't done anything wrong, Harry. Even if the wizarding world hasn't yet drawn the eye of any dimensional demon god, given how special that world is, it's only a matter of time.
"And even if there were no dimensional demon gods, those rotten policies ought to be swept away. Even wizards need to keep moving forward, not stand still and stagnate."
With his teacher's approval, Harry finally relaxed completely.
Even though he hadn't thought he was doing anything wrong, he was still just an eighteen-year-old. It was entirely possible he could have drawn the wrong conclusions.
Now that a teacher who had lived for over a thousand years had affirmed his choices, Harry could carry out his next plans without hesitation.
Just like his teacher had said: even if there were no dimensional demon gods, the decaying wizarding world still needed to change!
Once he'd decided on his next course of action, Harry raised another question. "Teacher, is the magic of the wizarding world any help to you?"
He hadn't memorized all that knowledge just to improve himself; he also wanted to use the wizarding world's knowledge to help the Sorcerer Supreme.
After centuries of ceaseless study, his teacher had already mastered all the magic of Kamar-Taj and had dabbled in magic from other dimensions as well.
If nothing unexpected happened, it would be very hard for her to grow any stronger—but the wizarding world's magic might help her break through that bottleneck.
After all, the magical knowledge of the wizarding world was not only new, it was very special. From the very start, it touched upon the level of rules.
To Harry's disappointment, the Sorcerer Supreme shook her head.
"Magic in the wizarding world is very special. It all exists on the basis of their special kind of magic power. That power is like a weakened form of chaos magic. Without chaos magic, other people can't use the wizarding world's magic.
"But don't be discouraged. Even if this knowledge can't help me break my limits, it can still give me plenty of inspiration so I can develop other spells.
"And those spells will be a tremendous help to you. Don't forget, I've wanted to retire for a long time now. The faster your strength grows, the sooner your teacher can retire."
Harry nodded hard. "I'll work my hardest so you can retire as soon as possible!"
Leaving Kamar-Taj, Harry returned to his bedroom.
He didn't know what kind of spells his teacher would eventually develop, but there was no doubt they would be of great help to him.
After all, no one wanted her to retire more than she did!
The next day, because the Sorcerer Supreme had returned, Harry brought Tony to Kamar-Taj and asked if she could make Tony into a sorcerer.
To Harry's surprise, the Sorcerer Supreme told him that in a certain parallel universe, there was a Tony who was the Sorcerer Supreme.
Not only did Tony have talent for magic, he was outstanding at it.
Seeing how smug Tony looked, Harry was a bit speechless.
So this guy had actually been right—were geniuses really geniuses in every field?
Harry started to think that maybe he ought to study science a bit. With his extraordinary talent for magic, he'd surely be an unprecedented genius in the field of science as well.
An hour later, Harry set down the book on relativity in his hands.
Genius in every field, my ass. What a load of nonsense!
He could read those papers, but truly understanding them was far too difficult. It was nothing like magic, where he only needed to state his requirements to chaos magic and it would respond.
Harry decided the field of technology wasn't for him. Knowing a bit was enough. He still preferred all-purpose magic!
When Tony heard this news, he was delighted. Wearing an exaggerated expression, he declared that not everyone was Tony Stark; the great Tony was an all-around genius.
Looking at how punchable Tony was being, Harry felt that if it weren't for that five percent stake, his fist would already have somehow appeared on Tony's face.
Before leaving, Tony told Harry he'd decided to design a suit of armor that combined technology and magic, and that once he had a finished product, he'd give Harry one.
Only then did Harry pull back the fist that had been about to have an intimate exchange with Tony's face and instead gave his shoulder a heavy slap. "Mr. Stark, you're right. You really are a one-of-a-kind genius!"
…
After that abrupt bout of world-hopping and the act of saving Tony Stark, which had suddenly catapulted him into the ranks of the ultra-rich, Harry finally returned to his everyday life.
His daily routine was going to school, traveling to Kamar-Taj to study magic, researching new chaos magic with the Sorcerer Supreme, and occasionally talking with Tony Stark to answer his questions about magic.
That's right: the Sorcerer Supreme had handed Tony's training over to him. For the time being, he counted as Tony's guiding sorcerer, just as Wong had once been his.
That day after school, the leaves of the sycamore trees kept drifting down, carpeting the ground. Harry was, as usual, walking with Gwen and Peter.
Gwen gave Harry a curious look. "Harry, have you heard the latest rumor going around about you?"
"What rumor?"
"People are saying you've become a new shareholder in Stark Industries and that you hold quite a lot of shares."
"That's not a rumor, it's true. If you want to intern at Stark Industries, I might be able to help you out."
"Oh my God, that's hard to believe." Gwen covered her mouth, looking adorably shocked. "I never imagined my good friend would turn into a super-rich guy. You'd better not forget to treat me to a big meal!"
"Of course. How about tomorrow? I remember there's a place that's pretty good."
Gwen's cheeks turned a bit red, but she agreed without hesitation. "Sure, I'm free tomorrow."
She completely tossed aside the plan to visit the Captain America Museum with her dad tomorrow.
At the familiar intersection, Gwen reluctantly parted ways with Harry.
After Gwen left, Peter suddenly gave Harry a mischievous grin. "Harry, Gwen's a really great girl. She likes you."
