Danzo made his intention clear without pretense or delay.
"Not a chance."
Kirito answered just as directly, without the slightest hesitation.
Danzo wasn't surprised. His tone remained calm as he explained,
"To become my subordinate, you must abandon all personal will. Every action must align with my command. I will also mark you with a powerful sealing curse, should you betray me, I can invoke a secret jutsu to end your life instantly."
"…You tell me this up front, and you still think I'd willingly join you?"
Kirito looked at him with bemused disbelief.
"Don't worry. Whether you agree or not, the outcome will be the same."
Danzo slowly unraveled the bandages on his right arm, undoing the metal shackles that bound it. His voice was calm, but laced with an eerie, chilling undertone.
"Step one is to subdue you by force."
"I see."
The moment negotiation collapsed, Danzo chose violence without hesitation.
As expected of the Hawk of Konoha, Shimura Danzo, a man nearly as infamous as Hiruzen himself.
Kirito didn't like wasting words either. He raised his hand and summoned Sode no Shirayuki. The flawless white blade pointed at Danzo.
"Then it's a pity. That first step of yours… is destined to fail."
"Hmph!"
No more words.
Danzo moved first.
"Wind Style: Vacuum Sphere!"
Several high-pressure wind bullets burst from his mouth, sharp and fast. But Kirito didn't counter them head-on. He flickered aside.
He knew very well: this jutsu wasn't meant to hit. It was a feint.
Sure enough, immediately after the wind bullets were launched, Danzo stomped the ground and charged like a cannonball, a blur of motion.
"Fast!"
Kirito's expression turned grim.
For someone who looks so old… his speed is nothing short of terrifying.
Danzo closed the gap in a heartbeat and swung a heavy punch.
"Bang!"
Kirito raised his forearm to block, but the moment their limbs collided, he felt like he'd just caught a swinging iron hammer. The sheer force left his arm numb.
"His strength… is no joke either."
Kirito barely evaded Danzo's follow-up sweeping kick.
"Whoosh!"
Danzo didn't give him room to breathe. He pulled out a kunai from his sleeve, blew a breath of chakra over it, imbuing it with dense, cutting-edge Wind Release chakra.
Then stabbed straight at Kirito's chest.
"When it comes to weapons… you picked the wrong opponent!"
Kirito didn't retreat. He stepped in.
The Zanpakutō in his hand spun once in a white arc and slashed down.
"What?!"
Danzo was stunned. His chakra-infused kunai struck something far harder than expected. Worse, the feedback was enormous, his kunai was starting to crack.
This isn't just a regular blade…
He had enhanced his kunai with Wind Chakra to an extreme level, it could slice boulders like tofu. And yet, not only was Kirito's blade holding up, it was pushing back.
"Hmph! You're getting cocky!
Even so, Danzo didn't flinch. His grip twisted sharply as he pumped even more chakra into the kunai.
"Tch…"
Kirito sensed it immediately. A dense, volatile current of Wind Chakra surged through Danzo's blade, so potent it was beginning to push back even Sode no Shirayuki.
So this is Kage-tier chakra output…
Kirito's heart sank slightly.
This was the first time he had ever experienced Sode no Shirayuki being pressured by another weapon.
It marked the difference between elite jonin, and true shadow-level powerhouses.
Up until now, Kirito's own attribute growth and arsenal had put him on even footing with most jonin, even outclassing some. With Sode no Shirayuki in hand, he could suppress nearly any opponent.
By his estimation, he might not be full Kage-level yet, but a high-tier quasi-Kage? Absolutely.
Especially when he unleashed the sword's true ability, Absolute Zero, a technique capable of instantly killing a Jinchūriki.
Against real Kage-level enemies, that was enough to make even them wary.
"Crack!"
The kunai finally gave in.
Danzo's weapon shattered under the pressure of Sode no Shirayuki.
"Hmph. I'll admit, your blade is impressive."
Danzo's weapon was destroyed, but his reaction was calm. He withdrew, avoiding Kirito's follow-up slash with sharp movement.
But Kirito's strength wasn't just his weapon.
His left hand clenched, and a tide of power surged down his arm.
His muscles bulged, splitting the sleeve of his shirt. Energy gathered explosively in his fist.
Then, he struck.
"Eight Extreme Collapse!"
Danzo couldn't dodge in time.
The fist slammed directly into his chest, collapsing his ribs inward with a sickening crunch.
His face turned deathly pale.
Blood erupted from his mouth.
Kirito didn't stop.
He followed up, stabbing Sode no Shirayuki straight into Danzo's throat.
The snow-white blade pierced through the old war hawk's vital point.
