Sakurajima Mai began her initial workout.
At first, her movements carried a hint of awkwardness and tentativeness, but she soon established a rhythm for the exercise.
She clasped her hands behind the back of her head, straightened her upper body, then quickly lifted her body up, before slowly squatting down, then lifting up again, and squatting down once more.
She performed squat training in repeated cycles right in front of Kanzaki Saku, who theoretically couldn't see her.
Kanzaki Saku's feelings were complicated. On one hand, sitting there and enjoying the view seemed like a nice option.
But on the other hand, if the genders were swapped, Mai-senpai's behavior would be that of a perverted man relying on 'doujinshi abilities' to defile a beautiful girl in the library.

And Kanzaki Saku was simply like the heroine of a doujinshi, while the only designated sufferer, Yukino, was off fighting who knows where.

Just as Sakurajima Mai lifted her body once again, preparing for another squat, Kanzaki Saku made his move.
Without any warning, he suddenly pressed his hands against the edge of the table, leaned his body forward, and made to stand up.
Naturally, this was Kanzaki Saku planning to repeat his old trick—going to the bookshelf to change books just like before.
However, this spelled trouble for Mai-senpai. She was in the middle of exercising to her heart's content in front of Kanzaki Saku when his sudden rising directly slammed into her.
"Ah—?!"
A voice-cracking scream tore from Sakurajima Mai's mouth.
She was suspended in mid-air, preparing to descend. Her center of gravity was entirely on her knees and a certain point of support about to land; she hadn't expected the 'base' to suddenly stand up at all!
Caught completely off guard, her falling body sat back down far deeper and heavier than anticipated.
"Ngh—!!!"
This time, she sat down solidly. The force was far beyond her own control. The intense impact and the illusion of being instantly filled to the limit made her legs go weak, the strength in her waist and abdomen scattering in an instant.
Her entire body went limp as if her bones had been removed. Following the momentum of Kanzaki Saku's sudden rise, she was about to slide off to the side. If she hit the floor, it would hurt terribly.
In that split second of lost balance, the instinct for survival drove Sakurajima Mai to make the swiftest response.
"Hah!"
She let out a forceful, muffled grunt. Her knees, originally pressed against the edge of the chair, suddenly exerted force—not downwards, but hooking inwards!
At the same time, her hands, which had been resting on Kanzaki Saku's chest to maintain balance, shot up like lightning and encircled his neck.
And so, the scene turned into this:
Kanzaki Saku was attempting to stand up in a posture that was slightly stiff but not slow. Sakurajima Mai, meanwhile, was like a sloth clinging for dear life to a tree trunk after being startled. Her legs were tightly wrapped around his waist, her arms firmly clamped around his neck, and her entire person was practically hanging off his body.
Her cheek was pressed tight against the side of his neck. Her warm breath, carrying the heat from her exercise, sprayed onto his skin.
Because of that accidental squat just now and the desperate embrace using all her strength, she—who had originally wanted to curse him out—couldn't say a single complete sentence for the moment. She could only emit some unintelligible gasps.
Kanzaki Saku's movements paused. Then he lowered his head. This action caused Mai-senpai, hanging on his chest, to slide down a tiny bit, eliciting another tense muffled groan and an even tighter embrace from her.
Kanzaki Saku inspected his front, a look of bewildered confusion appearing on his face.
He seemed to be thinking: Eh? Why did my clothes suddenly get so heavy?
But his intention to get up and return the book seemed firm. After a brief moment of confusion, he picked up the World History book and, deliberately 'accidentally', bumped Mai-senpai's frantic head with the spine of the book.
Kanzaki Saku didn't choose the nearest route. Instead, he deliberately detoured out of the corner half-surrounded by bookshelves and walked toward the aisle deeper in the reading area.
One step, two steps.
Sakurajima Mai, hanging on his body, bounced uncontrollably up and down with his steps. The high heels on her feet dangled and swayed, and the bunny ears on her head bobbed up and down.
"Wuu...!"
She bit her lip, swallowing her cry back down. This sensation of completely passively rising and falling with someone else's steps was far more fatal than the squats she controlled herself!
Every slight bump brought an unpredictable friction and vibration, traveling along the place where they were pressed tightly together.
Kaguya's exclusive maid, Hayasaka Ai, happened to be passing by holding a few books. Seeing Kanzaki Saku walking with seemingly heavy steps and a book in hand, she asked out of kindness.
Kanzaki Saku stopped and turned toward the direction of the voice. This turning motion caused Mai-senpai, hanging on his chest, to swing gently like a pendulum.
The latter immediately tightened her arms, burying her face deeper into the crook of his neck, as if this would hide her face—even though, theoretically, Hayasaka Ai couldn't see her at all.
Aside from that, the appearance of another person added an extra layer of stimulation to Mai-senpai's weighted training.
Although she knew perfectly well that no one could see her, and that she and Kanzaki Saku were actually covered by her large coat, the feeling was just different.
