Chapter 69 - Yui: Don't look down on me, the Tiger of the Service Club

Although she was let go, Yuigahama Yui grew even angrier.

What kind of joke was this?!

"What did 'for the sake of President Kanzaki Saku' mean?"

"With a single, dismissive remark, you, Kasumigaoka Utaha, elevated my brother-in-law to the high position of 'Vice President'—only to make me, by contrast, a mere troublesome individual?"

The more Yuigahama thought about it, the angrier she became. She had always dreamed of surpassing Yukino and keeping a close eye on her, primarily through Yukino's influence.

Yet, the Service Club was their fundamental haven. It was the core for their group—students from ordinary families, not top-tier academically at Shuchiin—to find warmth, security, and a place to belong.

"Kasumigaoka Utaha, you can insult Yukino all you want. That's fine."

"But to do it in front of Kanzaki Saku? That's completely unacceptable! How could she possibly tolerate that?!"

"I think you're looking down on me, Yuigahama Yui, the one known as the Service Club's Tiger!"

So, instead of obediently tidying her attire, Yuigahama rolled up her sleeves.

The pink dango's blood was boiling. She was about to transform into a pink berserker, ready to unleash a real-life brawl.

Not wanting the situation to escalate, Kanzaki Saku quickly embraced Yuigahama by the waist, using his body to stop her.

With that embrace, Yuigahama Yui, who had originally been aggressive and demanding an explanation, immediately melted into Kanzaki Saku's arms.

"Yui, calm down."

His voice softly reached Yuigahama's ear. "Everyone is watching. It's not worth causing a scene over this. The Service Club would only become more passive."

Held by Kanzaki Saku, Yuigahama Yui instantly stopped making a fuss.

"But... but she..."

Yuigahama's voice involuntarily lowered. It was tinged with a grievance she didn't even realize she felt. Yet, her body honestly leaned further into Kanzaki Saku's embrace.

"I know."

Kanzaki Saku's voice softened even more, as if coaxing a sulking little animal. "But now isn't the time. Let's go back first, okay? Leave this matter to me."

After comforting Yui, Kanzaki Saku released her and turned to Miura Yumiko, who seemed a little envious.

"Yumiko," he said, "please look after Yui and take her and everyone else back to the club."

After asking Yumiko to take care of Yui, Kanzaki Saku stepped forward to speak with Kasumigaoka Utaha.

Kasumigaoka Utaha had observed the entire process of Yuigahama's transformation from enraged to subdued under Kanzaki Saku's persuasion, yet her expression remained completely unchanged.

"Vice President Kanzaki," she said. "President Shinomiya wants you to make time this morning to go to the Student Council office. She has something to discuss with you."

"Kaguya... President Shinomiya is looking for me?" Kanzaki Saku showed just the right amount of surprise. He then nodded. "Alright, I understand. Thank you for informing me."

"Mm." Kasumigaoka Utaha responded indifferently, signaling that they could now enter. Her gaze lingered for another moment on Yuigahama's still non-compliant attire, but she ultimately said nothing.

Although in the eyes of others, and most students, Kasumigaoka Utaha was an impartial, strict, and unapproachable Disciplinary Committee President.

In reality, only she knew that for her, she was merely doing her job; whether the other party listened or not was their business.

Her duty was to point out violations and, if necessary, take coercive measures. She wasn't truly intolerant of the slightest flaw; after all, privately, she was...

Kasumigaoka Utaha was entirely dedicated to maintaining the 'absolutely fair and flawless' public image of a Student Council executive, especially the Disciplinary Committee President, which is why she strove to do her job perfectly.

Just like Eriri from another world line, outwardly a perfect young lady, but in reality...

A conflict that nearly made headlines across the school—a 'Disciplinary Committee versus Delinquent Girls' showdown—was thus lightly defused due to Kanzaki Saku's influence.

The ordinary students watching breathed a sigh of relief, and from Kasumigaoka Utaha's yielding, they gained a more direct understanding of this new, strikingly handsome Vice President Kanzaki—he wielded great influence.

And this was precisely what Shinomiya Kaguya wanted to see. She wanted Kanzaki Saku to personally experience the convenience and privileges that came with standing by her side and possessing the power of the Student Council.

Thereby, through comparison, he would gradually realize the limitations of the Service Club, draw closer to her, rely on the wings she bestowed, and become utterly indispensable to her.

Although Yuigahama felt wronged, under Kanzaki Saku's persuasion, she knew that a head-on confrontation wouldn't yield good results now. She could only glare fiercely at Kasumigaoka's retreating figure and mutter 'dog bullying others by relying on its master's power' under her breath.

After entering the campus and walking a certain distance, Kanzaki Saku stopped and smiled at his left and right guards.

"Yui, Yumiko, you two head back to the club first. I need to go to the Student Council."

Yuigahama immediately clung to him.

"Who knows what those people in the Student Council want with you? What if..."

"Yui."

Kanzaki Saku's voice was gentle, but his aura was assertive. "The President is looking for me, so it must be important business. It wouldn't be appropriate for you two to follow. Go back first and inform Yukino, so she doesn't worry." He specifically mentioned Yukino.

Hearing Yukino's name, Yuigahama pouted, seemingly wanting to say more, but when her eyes met Kanzaki Saku's, which, though smiling, seemed to see right through people, for some reason, her clinginess weakened.

She mumbled, "Alright, then, brother-in-law, be careful. If anything happens, call us anytime! The Service Club is not to be trifled with!"

Miura Yumiko, on the other hand, merely gave Kanzaki Saku a deep look. She said in a low voice, "Yes, please... be careful."

"Don't worry," Kanzaki Saku replied. "I'm the Vice President of the Student Council now, after all. In broad daylight, I won't be 'invited' for tea again." He was naturally referring to the previous kidnapping incident.

Miura Yumiko seemed to want to say more, but ultimately just nodded respectfully, then tugged at the still reluctant Yuigahama. The two turned and walked towards the Service Club activity room.

Having sent off his left and right guards, Kanzaki Saku turned and walked unhurriedly towards the Student Council building.

He had only taken a few steps when he heard regular footsteps behind him. Kasumigaoka Utaha had left her post at the school gate at some point and followed him, walking half a step to his side-rear.

"Committee Chair Kasumigaoka?"

Kanzaki Saku turned his head, showing an inquiring expression.

"I also happen to be going to the Student Council to report on this morning's inspection results," Kasumigaoka Utaha explained flatly, looking straight ahead.
