In Yuigahama Yui's mind, scenes of her doing all sorts of things to Kanzaki Saku were already playing on a loop.
She wished she could drag this brother-in-law of hers into a love hotel on the side of the road right now and go at it.
But with the meddlesome Miura Yumiko right beside her, Yuigahama Yui couldn't execute her plan to 'help Yukino take care of her brother-in-law.'
Whenever her desires flared up, Yuigahama's mind worked exceptionally fast, which often helped her find mysterious little websites late at night.
However, to continue guarding Kanzaki Saku and get what she wanted, there were only two options.
The first was to drag Yumiko down with her. If they both did it, then it was as if neither of them did it.
The second was to find an opportunity to send Yumiko away and get Kanzaki Saku alone.
The first option was highly unlikely. After all, Yumiko's loyalty to Yukinoshita Yukino was known throughout the club; she would never do anything to betray Yukino!
Getting her to betray Yukino was no less difficult than getting Yukino to share Kanzaki Saku willingly!
Having eliminated that nearly impossible option, only the second path remained: she had to find a way to get rid of Yumiko.
Once she was alone with Kanzaki Saku, with her, Yuigahama Yui's, charm and methods, could she possibly fail to conquer a pure little boy?
Yuigahama settled on her basic strategy; now all she needed was the right opportunity.
While Kanzaki Saku was being escorted home by the two delinquent girls, Bocchi-chan was on her way to Shimokitazawa.
Following the address Ijichi Nijika had given her, Gotoh Hitori arrived at a Livehouse called STARRY.
Standing at the entrance of STARRY, Bocchi-chan couldn't help but start fantasizing again.
'This is it! The turning point of fate! Once I step through this door, I'll no longer be the ordinary high school student admiring her own reflection in the back row of the classroom, but a rock superstar in Tokyo!'
'Tokyo, no, the entire music scene of Japan is about to change! A new god of rock is about to be born!'
Bocchi-chan imagined her bright future and nodded forcefully, her long pink hair swaying with the movement.
Next was the matter of how to open this door and enter. Inside were her future bandmates. To leave a profound first impression on them, she had to stun everyone the moment she opened the door.
So, Bocchi-chan hesitated at the door for several minutes. Should she kick the door open domineering like a western cowboy and stride in under everyone's astonished gazes?
Or should she enter holding her guitar, announcing her arrival with an improvised, mind-numbingly flashy solo?
And her favorite idea: sneak in quietly, hide in a dark corner, and only when someone discovered her, say in a cold tone, "I'm just a passing guitarist."
So cool! What if my entrance is so cool that the customers inside fall in love with me?
No, no, my heart belongs to Kanzaki-san!
In the end, Bocchi-chan chose what she considered the most appropriate way to enter.
Meanwhile, inside STARRY Livehouse.
Since it wasn't business hours yet, Ijichi Nijika had just finished a simple cleanup and was sitting behind the drum kit, practicing some basics.
After practicing for a bit, Nijika checked the time. It was about the time she had arranged to meet Gotoh Hitori. Why wasn't she here yet?
Could she have bailed at the last minute? Although that girl didn't look too bright, her guitar skills were pretty good. It would be a shame to miss out.
Just as she was thinking about whether to send a message to rush her—
The door to STARRY was slowly pushed open. Then, a pink head poked in first, looking left and right.
Nijika stopped what she was doing, her gaze fixed on the door.
The next second, the door was fully opened. Gotoh Hitori 'danced' into the club with steps that looked like a seizure.
Her movements were stiff and uncoordinated, like a character from some low-quality 3D animation, or like someone trying to imitate Michael Jackson's moonwalk but ending up with the symptoms of an epileptic fit.
While dancing, Gotoh Hitori tried hard to maintain what she thought was a cool expression on her face.
Nijika's hand, holding a drumstick, froze in mid-air. She stared blankly at this future teammate who looked like she had just escaped from a mental asylum, with only one thought in her mind.
'Was I blind that day? What on earth did I see in her? Is it too late to take it back now?'
As for Bocchi-chan, after completing her 'stunning' entrance and seeing the empty club and Nijika's 'I-think-I-should-call-the-police' expression, her brain also went completely blank.
Bocchi-chan's inner thoughts: 'Huh? This... doesn't seem to be what I imagined? Where's the thunderous applause?'
"Welcome, you must be our new teammate," a gentle female voice broke the awkward atmosphere.
The voice came from a booth in the corner, where a girl with short blue hair was sitting, holding a music score.
She wore a good-quality shirt and a long skirt, and her posture was elegant, somewhat out of place with the atmosphere of the Livehouse, like a noble lady who had mistakenly wandered into the mortal world.
Nijika also came to her senses and walked toward Gotoh Hitori. She deliberately ignored Bocchi-chan's convulsive dance steps and introduced the band's bassist to her.
"Let me introduce you. This is Yamada Ryo, the band's bassist," Nijika said. "Ryo, this is the Gotoh Hitori I told you about, she's a skilled guitarist."
"Hello, Gotoh-san." Yamada Ryo's voice was gentle and her tone was steady, sounding very well-mannered. "Nijika said you play the guitar very well. I hope we can get along."
'A-a rich young lady?! She looks so classy, completely different from me and this short blonde! Does she really play rock? Is she the type who has to wear white gloves to play bass?!'
This was Bocchi's first impression of the young lady Yamada Ryo, an impression that would last until they had a silver party with Kanzaki Saku.
But that's a story for later. Right now, facing Yamada Ryo, Bocchi-chan felt an inexplicable pressure, different from the 'feeling of being disciplined' she got from Nijika.
Was it more like an inferiority complex stemming from a class difference? She subconsciously toned down her wild and reckless demeanor and replied with a stammer.
"H-hello! Yamada-san! I-I'm Gotoh Hitori! My guitar skills are probably just at an average world-class level!"
The moment the words left her mouth, Bocchi-chan wanted to slap herself.
'What the hell is average world-class! What kind of stupid thing am I saying!'
Hearing this, Yamada Ryo just tilted her head slightly, her expression unchanged, making it impossible to guess what she was thinking.
Nijika, however, sighed and rubbed her small face. She was already beginning to foresee that the future of this band would probably be much more 'exciting' than she had imagined.
