In fact, El himself was stunned!
Not counting the first meteorite he had created, this was the first time he had used a super-meteorite as an attack.
Perhaps it was a preconceived notion that led El to think his meteorite should be no different from the ones Fujitora pulled from outer space—just many times larger.
In the theatrical version, the large meteorite Fujitora pulled down could be bisected by Zoro, who hadn't even completed the Wano Arc yet.
Therefore, El assumed the tsunami he created would be comparable to the one Whitebeard generated with his Quake-Quake Fruit during the Paramount War. What he didn't expect was that the super-meteorite would create a super-tsunami so exaggerated that not even the World's Strongest Man could replicate it, even at full power.
In both his past and present life, this was his first time seeing a tsunami—let alone a super-tsunami. So when El read the newspaper statistics that hundreds of thousands had died and two islands were destroyed, he too wore a dumbfounded expression.
His knowledge from his previous life was barely passable; he was admittedly ignorant about the differences between stone and iron meteorites. Similarly, any variation in a meteorite's size created a tremendous difference in impact.
The super-meteorite—a fusion of vast amounts of stone and iron—became a super-large fireball nearly a mile in diameter after entering the atmosphere, accelerating and burning as it fell.
It was more akin to an asteroid than a mere meteorite. How could the meteorites Fujitora pulled down with gravity compare?
So after reading the newspaper statistics, El was stunned, and his heart felt somewhat complicated.
To be fair, El's worldview from his previous life had already changed greatly because, in this world, the weak were prey for the strong. Combined with his innate ability to see into people's hearts, his perspective had shifted.
Not bullying the weak or enslaving ordinary people remained his bottom line—that's why he had released the residents Shiki had captured and enslaved for over a decade.
But now, he had personally broken that bottom line and those principles. He felt somewhat complicated and ashamed.
Of course, this didn't crush him. However, if those hundreds of thousands had been killed by his own sword, no matter how strong his will, his perspective and heart would certainly have become distorted. Yet after accidentally causing so many deaths, El recovered quickly, aside from some lingering guilt.
Because no amount of guilt or remorse could change what had already happened.
If not for these accidentally killed hundreds of thousands, he wouldn't have felt any guilt at all. On the contrary, having personally broken his own bottom line and principles, he allowed himself to tear off the false mask and officially embrace the identity of a pirate.
A pirate flag now flew high above the island—a skull set within a flaming asteroid.
The fleet was officially established under the name: the Flying Pirates.
Incidentally, during this incident, the reactions of the four girls both surprised and relieved El. Having been by his side since childhood, their worldviews were like blank pages he had painted. In truth, Carina, Nami, Kuina, and even Perona's perspectives closely mirrored his own.
When they learned the news of the super-tsunami accidentally killing so many, they weren't overwhelmed. Instead, Carina took the initiative to act as a psychiatrist and comfort El.
It was clear that in their hearts, El had become more important than the whole world. In just a few years, El—who aspired to be the world's number one cultivator of talent—had shaped them inside and out into his own image.
What surprised El was that after Carina comforted him, Robin also approached. She already knew he could read memories, yet she still took the initiative to tell him her story—of the countless nightmares that woke her every night.
"The world has long been sick. Don't let this guilt overwhelm you and prevent you from moving forward."
Hearing Robin's consolation, El couldn't help but be moved. He had thought Robin would be the most affected after himself and had prepared for her possible departure. Unexpectedly, instead of leaving, she actively comforted him.
Thinking this, El felt his decision to go to West Blue to recruit Robin had been right. At that moment, Robin successfully carved a place in El's heart, regarded by him as one of his most important wings, just like the four girls.
After recovering, El formally established the Flying Pirates' First Division. Then, he began the City in the Sky and a series of subsequent plans.
