Chapter 6 - Chapter 6 R1: The Multiverse of Madness

3rd Person POV

The rain poured through the streets of New York as Peter stood atop a roof watching the news. I turned to see Fisk's bruised and battered body and asked again, "Why did you kill Felicia?" Spiderman's voice echoed rage and a hint of madness.

Fisk spoke in an almost broken voice, "I told.. You... it wasn't me, Spiderman."

Peter lunged forward, grabbing him by the neck and lifting him. "LIAR!!"

Peter slammed him back into the ground again. "Don't think I won't kill you, Fisk."

Fisk responds, "Never thought I would see the day, but here we are."

Peter grabbed Fisk and threw him off his own building. He plunged to the ground before a loud splat sound echoed. Screams of horror and the snaps of photos were all that Peter heard.

"I know it wasn't you, Fisk, but you still had to pay a price," Peter spoke firmly with a hint of madness in his eyes as he swung away.

1st Person POV (Peter)

The memories subside as I am reminded once again of my own weakness. I look to Morlun and the Warden and merely smirk. The symbiote writhes as they look to the sky as it darkens.

An eclipse seemingly blocking out the Sun appears as Knull slowly descends towards the battlefield. Symbiotes swarm the planet as the Skrull and humans have battered each other to the point of no return. The symbiotes seal the world's fate as the fires of war merely dim, but not extinguish.

I spoke aloud to the beaten-down and bruised Nick, Tony, Morlun, and the Warden.

"You all thought you were playing the game, and yet you failed."

"Alas, I am not going to monologue about some evil plan or how much you hurt me because I was once a hero and heard it a thousand times."

I step forward, calm, deciding Morlun is the biggest problem. Even though I've brutally beaten him, I can't underestimate someone who hunts Spider-totems.

So I keep going, looking at his face, which seems to be smiling. He appeared excited at my "evolution" and what I am becoming. Another immortal thinks they can survive me, what folly."

Knull slowly lands as symbiotes kneel before him. He slowly walks towards Peter, seeing him as his own child. Morlun uses this opportunity to reposition, while the symbiotes containing Tony and Nick move away at Knull's command. Tony is trying frantically to restore at least his suit, and Nick is speaking quietly to any remaining Hydra or Skrull forces.

Peter watches in distaste at the choice of Knull.

Knull speaks in a firm tone, "My lost child, it is time to return so that we may eclipse the universe, embrace the dark."

Madness: "Who are you to claim my father went? It has only been us alone, you flaunt your power and yet see not our pain nor despair.

"WE HAVE SUFFERED, and YOU DID NOTHING! Peter and Madness speak at the same time.

"I was once five, and now I know what Tony and Nick did in their 'experiments. "How many of your so-called children died because of your neglect?"

"You are no father, you are merely another being playing god," I spoke as if the words were intertwined within me.

Knull merely looks disappointed and raises his sword before speaking, "It seems you need to be disciplined."

Madness: That's just cringe

I nod knowingly as I unleash a barrage of attacks towards Knull. Iron Man is puppeted by Helix, who supports me in my battle with Knull, while Nick Fury throws sonic grenades to disrupt nearby symbiotes as he retreats through the rubble.

I clash with Knull as Iron Man uses flames and fire pulse beams. I see from the corner of my eye that the Mandarin killed Nick Fury. I grit my teeth at the loss of the chance to kill him before speaking once more. "Helix launches EMP warheads in a spread across all of New York." I could vaguely hear the grunt of Tony as his "lover" was simply taking orders from me.

It's funny, everyone thought I could affect AI, but then again, these fools are simply playing checkers, while I play chess.

Madness speaks in my head, "Less thinking, more CHAOS!!!!!!!!!!"

I sigh as I am seemingly bossed around by a walking, talking orange. I dodge Knull's swing reflexively as the battle starts heating up. Morlun and the Warden go back at it, while the remaining Spider-Men attempt to hold off Mandarin, who has entered the fray after killing Nick Fury.

3rd Person POV

Chaos erupts in the sky once more as Helix uses the remaining Helicarriers and Hadron warship to deter any other partiers. Remnant Hydra forces are ripped apart, and any reinforcing Skrull fleets are easily shot out of the sky. The Mandarin had his own forces that survived the Skrull, but after the purges, they had minimal effect on an advanced AI like Helix.

The sky lit up once again as Spider-Man and Knull clashed. Spider-Man was continually pushed back by Knull's raw power. Black tendrils wrapped around Madness and Spider-Men before being melted easily. The clash is intense as the already ruined city of New York is basically cratering.

The Warden, along with the very few remaining Spider-Men, continued their assault against Morlun as his dimensional lock began to falter. Neith saw this as she prepared more reinforcements, but she was spread thin trying to stop the web of madness spread across the web of life and destiny.

Morlun, of course, enjoyed the hunt and, equally, continued his relentless battle with his prey. Superior Iron Man had basically already died in his suit, and Helix was piloting it.

Helix provided fire support and kept any remaining forces from interfering in this battle.

Spider-Man looked up at the sky and smiled as dozens of EMP missiles were headed their direction.

Only the Warden was somewhat concerned, while the rest simply ignored them, considering they were not nuclear warheads. This was the mistake Peter wanted them all to make, to be so far up their mountain that they think no one could tear them down from it.

Spider-Man increased his pace of attacks against Knull, whose blade was not just for show. The power of the void was not to be underestimated. The swarm of symbiotes began slowly making their way towards the battle between Knull and Madness, as the globe had already fallen. The symbiotes were more interested in hosts than anything else. Knull's blade swung across Spider-Man's chest as an orange symbiote mass writhed before breaking apart.

Spider-Man continued dodging attacks as Knull grew bored with such games and shifted to large-scale assaults. A massive black arc tore through the sky as a Helicarrier was sliced in half. The two pieces fell to the ground in a fierce blaze as another black arc carved a crater. Spider-Man, of course, not wanting to be outdone, tapped into the little bit of the Web of Madness he could for now and formed himself his own bright orange blade.

Even a small amount of power from the web of madness was intoxicating as Spider-Man swung wildly. Knull was now on the defensive, as the attacks were devastating. Orange and Black blade arcs flew across the ruined landscape, and the clashing of blades echoed.

Meanwhile, the Warden was on his last legs as barely 20 Spidermen were left, but reinforcements were just as close. Morlun, for once, looked worse for wear, but still had an arrogant smirk. They had tried everything against Morlun, from tech to magic and even darker powers, yet to no avail; nothing changed.

Just then, a crash sounded across the ruins as Mandarin had just destroyed Superior Iron Man's suit, causing Helix to momentarily flicker before uploading to the Hadron warship. Helix kept up the defence with the limited forces left. The Hadron warship was worn and torn, while only one Helicarrier remained out of the original 6. Scattered remnants of drones were scarcely around as well.

Shield, Hydra, Military, and even the Skrull stopped sending forces altogether. The losses had been astronomical, and the chaos had been unraveling for almost 2 days, as Knull had blocked out the sunrise. The unending nightmare had been going on, and governments and private agencies were barely scraping by.

Peter slammed back into the ground, annoyed at the fact that even with the tiny support of the Web of Madness, he was still losing in raw power. Luckily, the plan he had set up was about to come to pass as he looked up at the sky.

Peter smiled widely as his plan was about to come to fruition. EMP blast detonated across the sky right as Morluns' dimensional lock broke. Reality began to break down as glitches spread across New York. All eyes were focused on the new chaos as the dimensional plans started to rupture and mix. Even beings of such power understood the consequences of what Spider-Man was planning to do.

The web Spider-Man weaved took full advantage of this to leak directly into Earth 71122. Madness poured directly onto the planet, rather than requiring an intermediary such as Spider-Man himself to formulate a "pulse". Realities collided and inner mixed as the Web of Destiny and Life started to lose the continual duel with the opposing web of madness. People appeared and disappeared from one reality into another. The Web of Destiny and Life slowly unraveled as threads were cut or torn apart. Timeline events were destroyed and changed, while madness spread across the multiverse.

Realities became infected with Madness as they descended into chaos. Powerful beings, unable to resist its call, unraveled their own realities. The only ones who truly benefited were those who were already mad. Spider-men sent by Neith poured through the gaping holes, in fact, attempting to contain it. The Web of Madness itself seeped into planet after planet, reality after reality, parallel worlds, different dimensions, all of it succumbing to madness.

Morlun was smiling as if his dreams were coming true, while the Warden was in full-blown panic mode, ordering all arriving Spider-Men across the multiverse to stabilize everything they could.

A gigantic spider representing the Web of Madness manifested behind Peter as his laughter rang across the multiverse.

Spider-Man stood up and took a bow before speaking, "WELCOME TO THE MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS!!!!!"
