Chapter 45 - An Unexpected Pull: The Auction Draws Every Power

Whole Cake Island.

Charlotte Linlin — Big Mom — was furious.

"What auction for Senzu Beans? Kaido, you ingrate! You think you can pay me back for what you owe just like that?!" she roared.

After learning the miraculous effects of the Senzu Bean, Big Mom immediately called Kaido to demand beans. Kaido refused outright, without the slightest surprise. Their "conversation" quickly devolved into a mutual exchange of heartfelt curses and well-wishes for the other's early demise. Big Mom steamed with rage.

Lord Commander Charlotte Katakuri soothed her: "Mother, no matter what, at least the Beasts Pirates have produced Senzu Beans. The key now is to prepare funds and go to Dressrosa—to buy those beans at auction."

Big Mom was still angry, but powerless to force Kaido's hand.

"Katakuri, handle this. Bring those Senzu Beans back to me."

"Don't worry, Mother," Katakuri answered, straightening with the quiet confidence of one who can foresee a few steps ahead. Even a Monster-Cell-boosted Doflamingo was nothing to his predictive Haki.

Onboard the Moby Dick.

All the division captains except Whitebeard himself were thrilled at the auction news.

"We must buy at least one Senzu Bean to heal Father," they agreed. Whitebeard's health was steadily declining; a Senzu Bean might restore him.

Marco the Phoenix volunteered at once: "Father, let me go. This time it's not begging Kaido — we'll pay for it!" Whitebeard, proud and stubborn, said nothing. Seeing his son's insistence, Marco and several captains knelt and begged. Whitebeard's pride yielded: he would allow them to spend for his sake.

Marco gathered tens of billions of Berries and prepared to depart. Ace cheekily offered to accompany him; Marco declined, confident he could go alone. Nearby, one man with a harmless face watched them with an odd gleam in his eye.

Red-Haired Pirates.

Shanks and Benn Beckman's interest lay less in the beans and more in the auction itself. The tactic was obvious: an auction draws global attention, letting the Beasts Pirates appear generous while they profit — a clever two-fer.

"Clever," Beckman murmured. "But there's depth here. Someone higher up is behind the idea."

"Probably the Beast Prince Consort," Shanks said. "He's getting more interesting."

Shanks' crew sent Lucky Roux to Dressrosa to attend.

Stussy of the Human Auction House (codenamed "Queen of Pleasure District").

She casually burned a scrap of intel after reading it: "CP0 ordered me to attend the Senzu Bean auction… seems the World Government's dealings with Kaido aren't smooth. Fine. I'll go."

Stussy was not only a ruler of the pleasure quarter — she was the World Government's spy in the underground. She'd play her hand quietly.

Amazon Lily.

Boa Hancock, ruler of the all-women kingdom and one of the world's most formidable Conqueror's Haki users, felt a deep personal stake. The Senzu Bean might remove the World Nobles' hoof-marks from her and her sisters' backs — a humiliation that still burned.

"Find every lead on Senzu Beans," she ordered. "Bring them to me, even if it means crossing Kaido."

Sengoku-side concerns.

Mihawk, reading the papers far in the East Blue, mused that Shanks would likely send contingents. But Dressrosa was too distant — he couldn't attend.

Baltigo — Revolutionary Army HQ.

Monkey D. Dragon turned to Sabo. "Sabo, handle this. With Senzu Beans, our casualty rate will drop." Sabo accepted, solemnly.

Luo Xing (罗星) himself did not expect how many major forces his Senzu Bean auction announcement would attract. Even the Revolutionary Army intended to interfere.

This auction would be explosive.

Scene vignettes — who's coming and whyBig Mom (Charlotte Linlin): Sends Katakuri to secure a bean.

Whitebeard's fleet: Marco rushes with funds to buy one to heal Whitebeard.

Red-Haired Pirates: Send Lucky Roux to observe / participate.

Stussy (World Government agent): Will attend covertly.

Boa Hancock: Determined to obtain beans to erase her sisters' scars.

Revolutionaries: Sabo is dispatched—this is strategic for the revolution.

Others across the seas: Every major power has taken notice; the entire sea boils with interest.

The Senzu Bean auction Luo Xing planned had ignited greed, hope, and strategy across the New World. What began as a cunning move to redirect hostility had become a magnet that drew the world's most dangerous players — and the auction had only just begun.
