The indictments came on a Tuesday morning.
I was feeding Sofia when Marcus burst into the kitchen, phone in hand, face grim.
"They're coming. FBI. Multiple warrants. They're arresting" He checked his phone. "Everyone. You, Dante, Rosa, Alessandro, Connor, Wei Chen, Vincent. Twenty-seven people total."
My blood ran cold. "When?"
"Now. They're executing warrants across the city simultaneously. Boss, we have maybe twenty minutes before they're here."
"Get our lawyer on the phone. Now." I handed Sofia to Katerina, who'd appeared in the doorway looking terrified. "Call Rosa. Tell her not to resist. Tell everyone cooperate fully. No violence. No resistance. We handle this legally."
"Isabella" Dante entered, already on his phone with our attorney. "They have RICO charges. Racketeering, money laundering, conspiracy. They're going after the entire Commission structure."
