I watched the raids unfold on five different screens simultaneously.
Brighton Beach. Crown Heights. Hell's Kitchen. East Village. The Bronx.
Five teams, five targets, five simultaneous strikes against the Bratva's remaining strongholds.
Sal sat beside me in the command center, calm and collected, narrating what I was seeing.
"Team One that's Dante's crew is hitting the Brighton Beach location. That's where we think the Bratva leadership is hiding. It'll be the hardest fight."
On the screen, I watched tactical teams breach a warehouse. Gunfire erupted immediately, muzzle flashes in the dawn light.
My hands gripped the armrests of my chair so hard my knuckles turned white.
"Team Two Connor's Irish boys they've got Hell's Kitchen. Should be straightforward, it's mostly muscle there, not leadership."
Another screen showed a nightclub, doors blown open, men rushing in.
"Team Three Wei Chen's people East Village. Intelligence says it's a money counting operation."
