18 years ago, dungeons appeared all over the world.
Yes, the dungeons like in Isekai. Crawling with all sorts of magical monsters.
Against such monsters, even the modern weapons did not work well. They did not work at all against higher ranking monsters.
In fact, after evacuating New York where USA's only S-rank dungeon appeared, it was nuked.
But that didn't damage the dungeon in the slightest.
And when even nukes turned ineffective against them, humanity lost hope.
In a matter of 10 days since their appearance, the human population was reduced to 2 Billion only.
But then, a baby named Mrithali Surya was born in India with magical powers. She wielded Chakra beyond imaginable, holding the power of the Sun in the palms of her hand.
And due to radiation released from her, most of humanity evolved and became capable of wielding Chakra just like the monsters. Of having skills just like the monsters of the dungeons.
Right now, 90% of the people in the world have Chakra.
Upon her birth, humanity gained strength, regained hope, and was saved from its impending extinction as people managed to drive the monsters back into the dungeons.
But, the monsters who look like monsters aren't the only monsters in the world.
Once the threat of extinction was gone, many people began using their newfound power for committing crimes and evil.
A Cold War began between USA and China for grabbing more of the new power.
Wars.
Terrorism.
Genocide.
Kidnapping.
Trafficking.
All things began on a large scale.
Thankfully, with the existence of the only SSR rank adventurer and the one who began it all, Mrithali Surya, coupled with the government's long standing policy of Non-aggression and neutrality as long as other's don't mess with it, India became a neutral ground in the new world order and the safest country in the world.
We are very lucky that we are even able to attend school in this ruined world where the supernatural has become the norm in such a short amount of time.
And speaking of school, I am finally here.
After all the hard work, I succeeded in making it here.
Surya Adventurer Academy, Bengaluru, or SAAB famously.
The top high school in the world, due to Mrithali Surya being it's Student Council President. Just reaching this school means getting exposed to her radiation and becoming more powerful than it being naturally possible.
Meaning, for anyone aiming to become an adventurer, it is their holy land.
With the emergence of dungeons and clean chakra ores being formed very quickly by monster remains, other energy sources like petroleum, gas, coal hydro and solar became redundant.
Moreover, the dungeons also have all kinds of items made by monsters who have much more experience than humans in crafting Chakra Tools.
So, being an adventurer is the most profitable job. And getting into this school is a guarantee to a successful future.
