Leona was in the middle of her morning training with Alora when her father's summons came. A pack member appeared at the training grounds, looking nervous.
"The alpha wants to see you immediately," he said.
Alora frowned. "We're in the middle of a session, does she really need to come now?"
The pack member shifted uncomfortably on his feet. "Yes, Elder Alora. He said she should come immediately."
Leona exchanged glances with her trainer, then nodded. "I'll go. I'm sure it's nothing, I'll be back very soon."
She found her father in his office, and his expression made her stomach drop. Davion wasn't just angry. He was furious in that cold, controlled way that was somehow worse than yelling. And that was how she knew that this meeting wouldn't be quick. If anything, it would be a very serious meeting.
"Sit," he commanded.
Leona sat.
