Chapter 106 - The Security Patch

The Archive was now a patchwork of different realities. Rusted iron spikes from the Iron Lords, flickering "Missing-Texture" plates from the Trash-King, and the original obsidian hull of the Source-Smith. It looked less like a ship and more like a floating error-report.

"Kenji, the 'Blue-Screen' effect is spreading," Mateo reported. "The sectors behind us are locking up. The 'Trash' is actually working. The Warehouse's processing speed has dropped by forty percent."

"Don't celebrate yet," Kenji said, standing at the forge. He could feel a new vibration in the void a sound that wasn't a tuning fork or a motor. It was a high-pitched, clinical hum. "The Supervisors don't just let a virus run. They're about to run a 'Deep Scan'."

[SYSTEM STATUS: INITIALIZING 'VACCINE_v1.0']

[OBJECTIVE: SANITIZE SECTOR 'UNSORTED']

[METHOD: TOTAL ASSET RE-ABSORPTION]

A massive, white light erupted from the Green (now Red) Door. It wasn't a beam; it was a wave of "Pure White Geometry." As it swept across the shelves, it didn't just delete things it Standardized them.

A glitched dinosaur-neon world was hit by the wave. Instead of exploding, it turned into a perfect, gray, featureless sphere. The "Buggy" assets were sucked into the white light, leaving behind a "Blank Slate."

"It's not deleting," Elara gasped, her breath hitching. "It's... it's turning everything back into 'Factory Settings'."

Emerging from the center of the white wave was a figure that made even the Trash-King stop laughing. It was a giant, porcelain-white mannequin with no face and six wings made of "Search-Bar" icons. It carried a massive, glowing "Eraser" that pulsed with the light of a thousand suns.

[TARGET DETECTED: THE SANITIZER (PATCH-LEADER)]

[LEVEL: 999 (SYSTEM-ADMIN CLASS)]

[TRAIT: LOGIC-IMMUNITY]

"Oh, no," the Trash-King whispered, his form flickering frantically. "That's the 'Factory Reset.' If that thing touches me, I don't just die I become 'User-Agreement' text. I'll be boring, Smith! I'll be legible!"

"Not on my watch," Kenji hissed.

The Sanitizer moved with a terrifying, smooth speed. It didn't "teleport" like the Beta-Testers. It simply "Existed" in the next space. It raised its Eraser and struck a drifting marble of Prototype-Worlds.

The world didn't scream. It just turned into a smooth, white ball and was sucked into the Sanitizer's wings.

"Kenji, it's coming for the Archive!" Mateo yelled.

"Mateo, give me full power to the 'Source-Anvil'!" Kenji commanded. "Priya, I need your life-mana to act as a 'Variable' something it can't quantify!"

Kenji didn't use the rusted hammer. He didn't use the Admin's Gold. He reached into the ship's core and pulled out the Original Scrap from the Gutter, the very first piece of junk he had ever found.

"You want to standardize us?" Kenji roared, his white eyes burning through the white glare of the Sanitizer. "Try to standardize Improvisation!"

[SKILL ACTIVATED: THE ANOMALY FORGE]

Kenji hammered the scrap, but he didn't give it a shape. He gave it Contradiction. He forged a weapon that was both hot and cold, liquid and solid, a "Living Paradox."

The Sanitizer reached the Archive. It touched the hull with its Eraser.

HIIIIIIIIISSSSSS.

The white light of the Sanitizer met Kenji's Paradox-Aura. The Sanitizer paused. Its faceless head tilted. For the first time in eons, the "Vaccine" encountered a "Strain" it couldn't identify.

[ERROR: CANNOT STANDARDIZE 'CHANCE']

[RETRYING...]

[RETRYING...]

"It's stuck in an infinite loop!" Mateo cheered.

"It won't be for long," Kenji warned. He lunged out of the ship, swinging his Paradox-Weapon.

As the hammer hit the porcelain skin of the Sanitizer, the white light didn't consume Kenji. Instead, Kenji's "Gutter-Logic" began to leak into the Sanitizer. The porcelain began to crack, and from the cracks, "Real" things began to grow vines, rust, and oil.

"You aren't a God," Kenji said, his voice echoing through the Sanitizer's hollow chest. "You're just a Clean-Up Crew. And the Gutter is never clean!"

With a final strike, the Sanitizer shattered. But instead of disappearing, it exploded into a billion "System-Keys" the tools the Supervisors used to lock the shelves.

"The Keys!" the Trash-King cackled, grabbing the floating icons. "We don't just have an army anymore, Smith! We have the Master Keyrings!"

Kenji looked toward the Red Door. It was closer now.

"We've beaten their 'Vaccine'," Kenji said, breathing heavily. "But look at the sky. The 'Owners' are tired of using programs."

Above the Warehouse, the giant mechanical "Eye" was descending. It wasn't sending a beam this time. It was opening its Lid.

"They're coming down themselves," Kenji whispered.
