Riku stepped off the fractured platform, Bolt perched lightly on his shoulder. Exhaustion pressed against him, but his Core still hummed with lingering energy. The arena behind them was in chaos—broken platforms, sparks, and the faint smell of ozone.
Mira walked calmly at his side, her gauntlet glowing faintly as she surveyed the scene. She didn't need to introduce herself—Riku knew she was a vital part of the team.
Toma adjusted his holo-pad nervously.
"This… this is bigger than anything we've faced locally. The ship alone can hold dozens of teams from around the world."
A deep mechanical voice echoed through the massive ship-stadium.
"Welcome… to the Tournament of Spirit Masters. Every nation is represented. Every fighter tested. Let the games begin."
Riku's eyes scanned the corridors and floating decks above. Teams from distant countries began boarding the arena decks—leaders with exotic gauntlets and Core energy crackling around them.
Mira leaned slightly closer, her voice low.
"Riku… keep your guard up. Some teams… they'll try to take your Core. Or even fight you directly. Watch for everything."
Riku tightened his gauntlet. Bolt's fur bristled.
"Let them try. We've faced worse."
The holographic announcer displayed the layout of the tournament decks.
"Each team will compete on floating arena platforms. Battles are immediate. International teams, no borders, no limits. Every match will test spirit, strategy, and Core mastery."
Riku looked at his teammates—Mira and Bolt—and gave a determined nod.
"Team… let's move."
Above, in a shadowed observation deck, a few unseen figures whispered among themselves.
"He's far stronger than expected… still evolving. If pushed too far… corruption might follow."
Riku didn't flinch. He focused forward. The floating platforms extended into the distance, waiting for the first team to step onto them.
International teams. High stakes. Every move critical.
And Riku's Core… the storm inside him… was only growing.
