Chapter 6 - Chapter 6: Do Not Disturb, Already Depressed

Ye Mingqiu left the meeting room, feeling complicated. He immediately changed his communication avatar to a Tom Cat in a suit looking up and smoking, and changed his status to: "Life is not worth it."

Then, he spent a whole twenty bucks to buy an Energy Stimulant that he usually couldn't afford.

It was somewhat shaped like a cigarette, but it was actually a mist inhaler that stimulated spiritual growth. It wasn't cost-effective, but it came in various flavors and had a certain level of class appeal, so it had a significant market.

He smoked the Spiritual Supplement, feeling his spirit being stimulated in different ways, feeling melancholic, like a pitiful person abandoned and hurt by the world.

Not long after, Chen Ran arrived at the rooftop. He looked at Ye Mingqiu, who was standing at the edge of the rooftop smoking an Energy Stimulant, and tentatively asked, "What's up, did you get dumped by a rich lady?"

"Feelings are meaningless things, they only hinder me from becoming stronger," Ye Mingqiu replied.

"Looks like you really got dumped."

Chen Ran muttered, and helplessly patted his shoulder, giving him a sympathetic look without saying anything else, standing by his side to gaze at the school scenery and feel the sadness and desolation of the wind blowing at the high place.

"Ding!"

Suddenly, a notification sound rang out—it was Ye Mingqiu's communication device, drawing both of their attention to it.

"Received transfer, twenty, hundred thousand in full."

Chen Ran was stunned, staring dumbfounded at Ye Mingqiu, mouth agape, raising a finger silently pointing at him, wanting to speak but unable to say anything.

Holy crap, there's a dog here!

There's a dog here!

"No... it's not, not what you think."

Ye Mingqiu quickly explained.

But Chen Ran didn't listen; he turned and ran, casting a fierce glare at him before leaving.

Damn, I was genuinely here keeping you company, fearing you'd get depressed, and you repay me by letting me hear a twenty grand transfer report? That was a devastating blow to my mindset. Are you even human?

Betrayal! Naked betrayal!

"Sigh!"

Ye Mingqiu was filled with despair.

He opened the communicator, and there it was—a twenty grand transfer from Tang Ruobing, with his expression growing increasingly twisted and filled with agony.

Broken Ice Sugar: Here's your playmate fee!

Broken Ice Sugar: Get lost!

Ye Mingqiu, looking at that unfamiliar tone, couldn't hold back his tears. The girl he loved most in his heart was so perfect, witty, adorable, and kind. How could she say something so hurtful?

Why?

Why is it like this?

It's not me that's wrong; it's this world!

He stood at the top of the rooftop, cold wind chaotically blowing on his face, unable to accept it—the junior he cherished so much had turned into this.

So, is there a possibility to reclaim the junior in his online world?

Yes, bro, there is!

This world is ultimately one where spiritual power reigns supreme, and if he becomes strong enough, he can make Tang Ruobing change her attitude towards him and get everything he originally wanted.

It's decided!

I will continuously get stronger, then win over Tang Ruobing, forcing her to chat with me online like she used to, to reclaim my original sweet junior!

What a magnificent and grand goal!

Genius!

Having made up his mind, Ye Mingqiu immediately put it into action. He took out the communication device and sent a message to Tang Ruobing without hesitation.

[Payment received successfully]

Ye Mingqiu: Give me a strength improvement plan.

Broken Ice Sugar: Die!

Ye Mingqiu: Tang Ruobing, you don't want others to know about your chat logs with people, right...

Broken Ice Sugar: Climb!

Ye Mingqiu: Good girl.

Broken Ice Sugar: Get lost!

Ye Mingqiu frowned slightly as he looked at the conversation on the screen. It seemed it was time to use that trick, although he really didn't want to unless it was absolutely necessary.

Sigh!

Based on his online interactions, her continuing to curse at him over his threat to expose chat logs wasn't because she wasn't afraid of exposure, but because she believed he wouldn't do it. And indeed, Ye Mingqiu valued the chat logs between him and Broken Ice Sugar too much to easily share them.

If he really sent them out, that person would definitely feel miserable and heartbroken; the answer is intuition.

However, his threats weren't completely ineffective; at least Tang Ruobing had changed her wording from "die" to "climb," which shows a significant difference in attack power—it's a sign of success.

You absolutely can't give up easily!

Ye Mingqiu: Hmph, you wouldn't want your mom to find out you've spent tens of thousands in the game, would you?

Broken Ice Sugar: You bastard!

Ye Mingqiu: Thank you.

Broken Ice Sugar: Ahhh!

....

After a brief moment of helpless rage, Tang Ruobing eventually sent a spending strategy, explaining various methods to improve attributes, which methods shouldn't be combined, what harms they could cause, which combinations work well and why the effects are good.

Great! An excellent strategy!

Ye Mingqiu, holding onto twenty grand in funds, felt energised as if he had boundless strength. He even considered directly spending twenty grand to buy a Life Supplement, to see if he could directly unlock the fourth talent and further boost his power.

But he eventually gave up, as while acquiring a talent was valuable, the issue was his current Basic Attributes were too low. The efficiency of improving through talent acquisition wasn't as good as increasing attributes.

Next up, I need to convert that twenty grand into attributes as quickly as possible, to catch up and surpass Tang Ruobing and reclaim my Broken Ice Sugar.

For the junior!

For the junior!

....

In the Support class group chat, Ye Mingqiu's situation was rampant, but Chen Ran adhered to integrity and didn't disclose anything about the twenty grand. After all, rumors were just rumors without concrete evidence.

If he claimed to have evidence and hammered things down, Ye Mingqiu might face some troublesome scenes.

A good brother should scold when necessary, but also support when crucial, and definitely shouldn't impulsively expose key information at critical times, thereby putting the other party in unfavorable situations.

"I need to see how my son's... my grandson's sugar mama is, what the reviews are like, and if anything goes wrong it could be bad." Chen Ran plunged into gossip first-line, swiftly scouring the internet for any information on Tang Ruobing, any clues.

He didn't really know how much of it was to help his good big grandson and how much was from a gossipy mentality, but it wasn't important. What mattered was that he was seeking information, and if he found any scoops, he'd actively share them.

"Eh?"

There really was news about her online!

Chen Ran suddenly spotted something, finding a post in a forum exposing Tang Ruobing, with many resonating comments below.

Let me see what's happening!
