Evelyn was filled with hate, hating herself for being a match to donate a heart to Caden's mother.
Yet, it seemed she couldn't truly bring herself to hate.
Because, if she hadn't been of use, how would Caden have even met her back then?
"Evelyn." Caden let his hands fall weakly at his sides, "The one who fell in love with you wasn't the big brother who approached you for your heart, but the one standing before you, your husband."
Upon hearing this, Evelyn trembled intensely, looking at Caden with tears streaming down her face.
"It's my fault." Caden was even more dejected, "No matter how much I try to justify it, I can't hide the original purpose of taking you in. Evelyn, please forgive me, okay?"
"I want to be alone for a while." Evelyn said softly, averting her gaze from Caden, "You should leave first."
"Evelyn..."
"I'm really confused right now!" Evelyn raised her voice, "If you can't give me the answer I want, then... at least give me some peace, okay?"
