Listening to Lily Thorne's words, Caden Lockwood's eyes flashed with deep disbelief.
He couldn't believe such words were coming from Lily Thorne, his ever-respected mother.
Lily continued to ask, "You can't bear to let her die, but you can bear to let me die?"
Caden stared at Lily, wanting to say he would surely find other willing donors, but since he hadn't found them yet, he didn't want to keep making empty promises.
Caden's face was ashen, and he didn't know how to unravel the current situation, which seemed like a deadlock.
But Lily suddenly laughed.
"Silly son!" Lily laughed happily, "I was just joking with you! Do you think your mom is so bloodthirsty? Trading the lives of healthy young people for an old lady like me — what a bad deal! Besides, Evelyn Morgan is my daughter-in-law; she has to carry on the Lockwood Family legacy!"
"It's not funny." Caden frowned, "Mom, don't joke like this again in the future."
