"Sis, make a wish."
Nancy Miller lit the candle and reminded Holly Sawyer.
Holly locked her fingers together, positioned them under her chin, and gently closed her eyes.
The candlelight kept flickering, and Holly's lips curled slightly.
She hoped...
The first person that came to her mind was Leo Grant.
She hoped the days would pass more slowly and her leaving could be delayed, allowing her more time with Leo.
"Sis, you can blow out the candle now."
After making her wish, Nancy prompted Holly to blow out the candle.
This was actually Nancy's first time celebrating someone's birthday, and she felt quite happy.
Holly blew out the candle, and then it was time to cut the cake.
Even though this year's birthday felt a bit quieter, Holly found it very heartwarming.
In the past, birthday celebrations had always been lively with lots of people, but Holly never felt they were particularly meaningful.
