The next morning, Sparkle Gold found it hard even to move a finger.
"Awake?"
Above her came Evan Saint's slightly hoarse but pleasant voice. She struggled to open her eyes and glared at him somewhat resentfully, "How is Aaron Lawson? Did he realize it wasn't me last night?"
"Not last night, it was three days ago," Evan Saint corrected her blandly.
Sparkle Gold was stunned, "Three days ago?"
"The drug they gave you is extremely potent. If you don't release it immediately after taking it, it could be fatal."
Sparkle Gold gritted her teeth, "Really ruthless!"
"Don't worry, I repaid them in their own coin," Evan Saint paused, then added with a smile, "Maybe even a bit more."
Why did that smile feel so sinister and creepy?
Sparkle Gold shuddered and curiously asked, "What did you do?"
"Gave Aaron Lawson the same drug."
"And the extra bit?"
"Do you really want to know?" Evan Saint lowered his head, a dangerous glint flickering in his eyes.
"I do."
