Chapter 267 - Chapter 267: School Begins

"Mr. Lovegood , my father has recently been interested in buying a magazine agency. He's aware that I'm attending your dinner this time," Allen said politely.

"Who is your father?" Mr. Lovegood looked at Allen in surprise.

" Owen Harris works at the Ministry of Magic's ' Department of Magical Accidents and Disasters '," Allen said. "I can arrange a meeting between the two of you, and you can discuss the details."

Allen naturally saw the insecurity in Mr. Lovegood's eyes , but that didn't matter; Mr. Harris's appearance would have the same effect.

Mr. Lovegood nodded, neither particularly willingly nor reluctantly.

Returning to the mansion, Allen explained the matter to his father, Owen, in full detail. Owen, already consumed by resentment, was not at all bothered by Lovegood's attitude .

His family had indeed been a rather unremarkable and unknown family in the past; it was perfectly understandable that Mr. Lovegood couldn't trust Allen .

He decided to visit Mr. Lovegood in person .

On the last day of their vacation, as Allen had finished packing all his suitcases and was getting ready to leave Aunt Josephine's house, Owen burst through the door, bringing wind and snow with him.

"I did it, Allen! I managed to convince Xenophilius to sell us the publishing rights to The Quibbler magazine! Although I paid a considerable amount of Galleons for it ."

Mr. Harris was very agitated; his face was bright red, his features were trembling violently, and a strange light shone in his eyes.

Allen understood the situation perfectly. For Owen, completing a transaction involving such a large sum was a historic step.

Not to mention Owen; he was inexplicably excited and kept telling his wife , Morgan le Fay, about the negotiation process.

As they parted, Clark , who hated strangers entering his territory , accompanied Emily and didn't leave her side for a moment.

He was reluctant to let his little friend go.

Daisy ,protecting Emily , looked at Clark suspiciously.

Actually, Daisy was overthinking it; Clark would never hurt Allen's sister. In her eyes, Allen was her kindhearted friend, and Emily was a good friend too.

Aunt Josephine asked Allen not to forget to visit her when summer vacation came.

"Ah, that might not be certain, Josephine . You know, when Allen's summer vacation starts, there's a world-famous event taking place in Britain , " Owen interrupted Aunt Josephine suddenly . "Perhaps we could all go and see it together."

Allen smiled. His father's self-confidence was steadily growing. With the support of the Galleons and the initial influence of a pureblood family , his father's position in the Ministry was rising day by day.

Returning to Hogwarts felt like coming home to Allen, giving him a sense of warmth and familiarity.

And when Allen saw the Professor , whom he hadn't seen for a long time ... Filius Flitwick felt a joy as if he had seen a close relative.

" Allen Harris , Happy New Year!" Professor Flitwick handed Allen a box of Screaming Mouse Candy and then invited him to sit in his office.

Even though Allen knew he hadn't done anything wrong, being called into the principal's office by a teacher on the first day of school was still quite surprising.

Although Professor Flitwick wasa small, unassuming wizard , his desk held an almost endless treasure trove of delicious flavors.

Allen relaxed with the sweets and tea that Professor Flitwick warmly offered him .

"Well, Allen. I've been thinking about your magic all holiday ," said Professor Flitwick , resting his chin in his hands and leaning slightly forward in his chair.

"Which spell ?" Allen was a little confused.

" The spell in Hogsmeade , the spell you use to stop the bullying of the Slytherins . Why couldn't I stop it?" Professor Flitwick asked excitedly.

" Is that Glitterdust you're talking about ?" Allen asked.

" Glitterdust ?" Professor Flitwick repeated , admiringly, "A lovely name, indeed very fitting."

" The shimmering dust can spray a cloud of smoke containing gold particles. Once sprayed, it spreads rapidly and covers the targeted areas. Any creature covered by this cloud becomes blind, and the outlines of invisible objects become visible."

Allen explained it in a simple way.

"What I'm wondering is: Why can't it be eliminated by my Finite Magic ? Does it just have to wait to end on its own?"

Professor Flitwick asked the question that had been bothering him for so long.

"Because it carries a lasting magic , known in ancient times as one of the ' Metamagic Techniques .' This has been passed down through generations in my family ."

Allen explained in detail: "This makes it very difficult to undo the spell you cast with the generic counterspell , Finite Incantatem . Even a special counterspell wo n't easily provide the desired effect. It needs to be cast multiple times to neutralize it."

"So this is a Metamagic Technique !" Professor Flitwick realized . "I know a few myself, but these techniques, which increase the difficulty of casting spells, aren't suitable for teaching to students in the classroom; they're too challenging. However, if you'd like to learn, Allen, you can find me anytime. We can share our knowledge."

Althoughthese were indeed in the Ravenclaw Library, Allen nodded nonetheless. He explained to Professor Flitwick ,just as Professor Flitwick always did in class, wholeheartedly and without hesitation, the reading, application, and cancellation method of the ' Shimmering Dust ' spell .

With Allen's help, Professor Flitwick conducted several experiments. Finally, a cloud of golden smoke shot out from the tip of Professor Flitwick's wand , covering his desk.

Following Allen's instructions , Professor Flitwick waved his magic wand , and the golden smoke instantly vanished.

"It worked!" Professor Flitwick jumped down from his chair in joy.

Allen was considering leaving, but Professor Flitwick called him back, and he hesitated to speak.

Allen looked at his professor with curiosity ; he had never seen his professor in such a difficult situation before .

"Your training is going very well. Professor McGonagall and Professor Sprout have also approached me because Young Wizards from their houses want to join." Professor Flitwick clasped his hands together, resting his elbows on the table. " Could you perhaps select some select or approved Young Wizards to join Ravenclaw's training ?"

Allen blinked, understanding what the Professor meant.

Allen didn't find this difficult; he was no stranger to teaching in large classes.

He was a complete professional when it came to teaching.

When it came to teaching, he was extremely enthusiastic.

He was always proactive in matters that benefited Hogwarts .

He accepted without the slightest hesitation.

If Professor Flitwick asked on their behalf, Penelope probably wouldn't refuse!

As Allen was leaving, a pleased Professor Flitwick handed him a small booklet containing his personal notes on magic- altering techniques .

For Allen, receiving such valuable notes was an unexpected and pleasant surprise; he was extremely pleased and found the notes very valuable.

Compared to Allen, the friendship of Gryffindor's Golden Trio was facing a different test.

Both Harry and Ron had become increasingly dissatisfied with Hermione . The spark that ignited this dissatisfaction was the fire broom , the most advanced broom in the world !
