Chapter 108 - Ink #2

Konohagakure No Sato :

Uzumaki Apartment :

The world instantly vanished.

There was no fever, no physical pain. Instead, Naruto's consciousness was violently pulled into a state of absolute, laser-sharp hyper-focus.

Thousands of sealing runes, algorithmic arrays, and spatial matrices exploded across his mind's eye. Complex equations that would have taken him months to decipher solved themselves in milliseconds.

The theoretical roadblocks of separating spiritual from physical chakra instantly crumbled, replaced by elegant, flawless geometric solutions.

The world inside Naruto's mind was no longer composed of flesh and bone, but of cold, golden geometry. Under the influence of the [Seal Creation Buff], the air itself seemed to vibrate with the friction of his thoughts.

The apartment around him vanished, replaced by an infinite white expanse where towering pillars of sealing script spiraled toward an invisible ceiling.

He wasn't just drawing; he was programming the very laws of his existence.

Naruto's pen flew across the third scroll with a speed that blurred the human eye. The first layer of the seal—the Extraction Matrix—was the most delicate.

Naruto used one of the seal as the base , that he learned at sealing corps .

Chakra Draining seal .

It had to sit like a gossamer web over Minato's Eight Trigrams Seal, catching the "leakage" without disturbing the structural integrity of the cage.

Using the principles of Chakra Absorption, he designed a series of microscopic "valves" that would only open when the Kyuubi's chakra reached a specific pressure.

In the Second Hour , This was where the buff's true power manifested. Traditionally, separating Yin and Yang energy within chakra was a task for S-Rank masters or extreme Chakra Control

Naruto had neither.

Instead, he used the Chakra Scalpel logic to create a centrifugal sealing array. In his mind's eye, he saw the red, bubbling chakra of the Fox enter the seal and get spun at speeds approaching the sound of light.

The "heavy" spiritual energy—saturated with Kurama's malice and ego—was flung to the outer rim of the seal and redirected back into the cage. The "light" physical energy—the pure, raw vitality of a thousand-year-old entity—was sucked into the center, distilled into a shimmering, golden liquid state.

Now came the danger. Even purified, Bijuu physical energy was too dense for a human cell to handle. It would be like trying to fuel a lamp with a lightning bolt.

Naruto integrated the Chakra Transfer oscillation patterns. He mapped his own unique genetic frequency—the specific "hum" of his awakened Uzumaki and Namikaze bloodlines—and etched it into the heart of the seal.

This layer would act as a transformer, vibrating the incoming Bijuu vitality until it matched Naruto's own signature.

With ten minutes remaining on the 4th hour, Naruto's hand began to tremble. The scroll was now a masterpiece of black ink and glowing blue chakra, so complex it would make a Sealing Master go blind trying to decode it.

Naruto titled the technique at the top of the scroll:

[Fuinjutsu: The Eternal Forge ]

By 3:45 AM, the math was perfect. The system was airtight.

With minutes left on the clock, Naruto moved to the center of the room. He stripped down, his gaze focused and unwavering. He didn't use a brush or pen this time; he used his own chakra, infused with high-conductivity ink, controlled by the surgical precision of his Yang-manipulation.

Naruto bit his thumb. The buff flickered, the light in his mind beginning to dim.

He slammed his blood-stained palm onto the center of the scroll.

The scroll didn't just glow; it detonated in a silent burst of white light. The ink rose from the paper like a swarm of black hornets, swirling through the air before diving toward Naruto's whole body.

The impact knocked the wind out of him. He felt a sensation of ice-cold needles stitching themselves into his skin, encircling the Four Symbols Seal. The runes didn't stay on the surface; they sank deep, wrapping around his spine, his heart, and his nervous system.

The application was agonizingly meticulous. Starting from the center of his stomach—the anchor point of the Eight Trigrams Seal—Naruto began to weave the new array.

The ink didn't form a simple circle. Instead, it grew outward like a monochrome winter tree. Thin, elegant black lines branched from his core, racing across his ribs, wrapping around his muscular arms, and climbing up his neck.

They traced the paths of his nervous system, mirroring the intricate web of his nerve fibers. Within an hour, his entire body—from the tips of his fingers to the arches of his feet—was covered in a complex, branch-like tapestry of sealing script.

Naruto looked like a work of anatomical art, a human map of a forest made of ink and intent.

Naruto collapsed onto his hands and knees, gasping. His vision swam. For a moment, he felt the distant, confused roar of the Great Fox deep within his subconscious—a flicker of annoyance from a beast that had just realized its "waste" was being stolen.

The timer flickered: 00:34:40 remaining.

It took near an hour for the seal to settle in and for Naruto this was the most torturous painful hour.

Naruto stood in the center of the room, the glowing blue light of his chakra illuminating the branch-like seals covering every inch of his skin. The air hummed with a low-frequency vibration as the ink began to "sync" with his heartbeat.

Naruto took one final, deep breath of O2-saturated air.

" FUIN..!!" he whispered.

He raised his right hand and firmly patted the center of his chest, right over his sternum.

The reaction was instantaneous. The ink on his skin didn't just fade; it constricted. The black "branches" pulsed once with a blinding white light and then began to sink.

Naruto let out a choked gasp as he felt the seals melt through his epidermis, sliding past his dermis, and anchoring themselves deep within his muscle tissue and the very marrow of his bones.

This time the seal was merging into his body and not just skin but in muscles and bones and even organs.

It felt like being submerged in liquid lead. The seals settled into his very foundation, becoming a permanent, invisible layer of his internal anatomy.

By 5 AM , Naruto slumped to his knees, sweat pouring down his face, though the ink was now completely gone from the surface of his skin. He looked at his hands—they were clean, the skin smooth—but he could feel the "Eternal Forge" hum beneath the surface.

Naruto noticed that even his system was humming with notification in the sealing section tab.

The seal was no longer an external addition; it was a part of his skeletal and muscular structure.

Naruto stood up, testing his weight. He felt tired , his movements more deliberate. His body was now a self-refining engine, turning the village's greatest curse into a slow-release protein for his own ascension.

The clock was a silent executioner, the red numbers flickering in the corner of his vision.

34 minutes remaining

To most, 34 minutes was a lunch break.

To Naruto, currently operating under a transcendent state of cognitive acceleration, it was an eternity. He had successfully forged the Eternal Forge into his very marrow, but his mind—sharpened to a razor's edge by the system buff—refused to let a single second of this divine clarity go to waste.

*Fwoosh*

In a flicker of gold, Naruto was in his study. He didn't waste time searching; his Kagura's Mind's Eye pinpointed the specific storage seal he had tucked away weeks ago. He snatched it, teleported back to the center of his living room, and unsealed a thick, weathered scroll.

The title was written in bold, archaic brushstrokes:

Super Beast Imitating Drawing

[ NINPO: CHOJU GIGA ]

------------------------------------------------------------

Konohagakure no Sato :

Location: Uzumaki Apartment

It had been six days since Naruto drafted and integrated the Eternal Forge Seal. The physical changes were settling deep into his bones, but his mind had already moved on to the next puzzle.

The summer heat of June was at its peak. Inside the air-conditioned apartment, Naruto was hunched over his study table, furiously scribbling on a scroll.

At the center of this organized chaos sat Naruto, hunched over his desk. The surface was a battlefield of scattered scrolls, half-empty inkwells, and discarded drafts.

He was furiously scribbling on a fresh expanse of parchment, his brow furrowed in concentration. The [Seal Creation Buff] was long gone, but the residual clarity and the permanent cognitive enhancements of his awakened bloodline kept his mind operating at a terrifyingly efficient speed.

He was so completely absorbed in his work that when the doorbell rang, he didn't even flinch.

*DING*DONG**DING*DONG**DING*DONG**DING*DONG*

The doorbell's cheerful chime echoed through the small apartment. Naruto didn't pause his brushstroke. In the corner of the room, Simba—the ninken who had grown significantly plump and more fluff over the past year—perked up.

The pup let out a soft wuff, his keen nose instantly identifying the familiar scents on the other side of the wood. With a burst of agile, chakra-enhanced speed, Simba trotted to the door, stood on his hind legs, and expertly flicked the deadbolt open with his paw.

The door swung inward, revealing a trio of familiar faces.

Hinata, Ino, and Karin.

Hinata immediately scooped the happy pup into her arms, balancing him alongside a massive, perfectly ripe watermelon. Ino and Karin followed closely behind, each carrying a heavy wooden box .

Over the past year, these three girls had become a constant, stabilizing presence in Naruto's life. They were his pack. Sometimes they visited individually, seeking quiet advice or a sparring partner, but today they had arrived as a united front.

With tomorrow being the official Genin Team Assignment day, the girls had decided to spend their final day of Academy freedom hanging out at Naruto's place.

"Naruto-kun, we brought lunch!"

Hinata quietly slipped into the kitchen with the watermelon and Simba.

Ino and Karin toed off their shoes and padded down the short hallway toward Naruto's bedroom, the wooden boxes clutched in their hands. They stepped into the room and stopped, both struck by the quiet intensity of the scene before them.

The scene before them was almost artistic.

The midday sun filtered through the blinds, casting slashes of golden light across the room. Naruto sat at his desk, dressed in a simple, slightly oversized white t-shirt that clung to the newfound, dense musculature of his back.

His golden hair, usually wild and unkempt, was catching the light, framing a face that had lost its boyish roundness, replaced by the sharp, aristocratic jawline of the Namikaze.

There were smudges of black ink on his cheek, across his knuckles, and staining the hem of his shirt. His eyes—those deep, mesmerizing cerulean pools that both girls secretly found themselves getting lost in—were fixed with absolute, unblinking focus on the paper beneath his brush.

His long, slender fingers moved with a rhythmic, hypnotic grace, laying down complex geometric lines.

Ino swallowed hard, a faint blush dusting her cheeks and Karin adjusted her glasses and taking deep breaths to calm herself down .

Setting the wooden boxes down on the edge of the unmade bed, the two girls stepped up behind him, flanking his chair to peer over his shoulders

The desk was littered with drawings. There were sketches of hawks with impossibly sharp, aerodynamic wings .

Tigers with exaggerated, muscular builds; and serpents coiled in striking positions. But the scroll Naruto was currently working on was entirely different.

It was a detailed anatomical drawing of a human torso. The skin in the drawing was covered in a sprawling, aggressive network of tattoos—thick, tribal-looking bands that wrapped around the biceps, chest, and stomach. If an anime fan from Naruto's past life had seen the design, they would have instantly recognized the visual homage to the King of Curses.

But to Ino and Karin, it just looked dangerous.

While Ino was captivated by the aesthetic of the tattoos, Karin's eyes, trained by Tsunade and the Sealing Corps, drifted to an adjacent page. It was covered in a mind-bendingly complex Fuinjutsu matrix.

Karin leaned in closer, her red hair brushing against Naruto's shoulder. She recognized the foundational structure of a storage seal, but the internal pathways were twisted, looping back on themselves in a way that defied conventional sealing logic.

Failing to contain her professional curiosity, Karin pointed a slender finger at the matrix. "So, what exactly are you doing now? Is this a new seal?"

Naruto had already sensed them the moment they entered the apartment, but he finally set his Pen down and rubbed his tired eyes. He looked at where Karin was pointing. "Oh, that. It's a derivative storage seal, I think."

Ino tilted her head, her blonde ponytail swishing. Karin frowned, adjusting her glasses again. "A derivative? Derived for what?"

Naruto thought for a moment to simplify the S-Rank math in his head.

"In simple terms... it's an Ink Storage Seal. It's designed to hold a liquid medium in a state of stasis while maintaining its chakra conductivity."

Karin processed this, chewing on her lower lip.

Ino, however, pointed at the drawing of the tattooed torso. "Okay, but what's this? Are you planning on getting a tattoo? Because I did't think you will graduate looking like a Yakuza enforcer."

Naruto let out a dry, breathy chuckle. "That is the Ink Storage Seal Design"

Both girls stared at him, utterly puzzled. Even Ino, whose clan specialized in mind arts rather than Fuinjutsu, knew the basic rules.

Seals went on paper. They went on scrolls. They went on tags.

You didn't just paint a storage matrix onto human skin; the body's natural chakra network would disrupt the ink, causing the seal to break or, worse, detonate.

Karin, however, had spent the last year studying under the greatest medical kunoichi in history. Her eyes widened as the realization hit her. She remembered the diamond-shaped mark on Tsunade's forehead—the Yin Seal, the pinnacle of body-modification Fuinjutsu.

"You're... you're trying to place functional seals on your body. Like a tattoo," Karin breathed, her voice laced with a mixture of awe and horror. She knew about the Hundred Forge Seal they had developed, but this was entirely different.

Ino's eyes darted between Naruto and Karin, catching the gravity of the conversation. "Wait, how does that even work? If you store ink inside a tattoo, what happens when you use chakra?"

Naruto offered a bitter, exhausted smile. "It's still incomplete. I'll explain it all once , when I actually finish the prototype."

Both girls pouted slightly at the dismissal, Both girls hated it when Naruto went into his secretive, mad-scientist mode.

"Fine, keep your secrets, Mr. Mysterious," Ino huffed, crossing her arms, though there was no real heat in her voice.

Just then, Hinata appeared in the doorway, a soft, warm smile on her face. She was carrying a large tray balancing two plates piled high with perfectly sliced, vibrant red watermelon. Condensation dripped from the cold fruit, looking like heaven in the sweltering heat.

"I thought we could take a break," Hinata said softly.

Naruto stood up, gratefully taking one of the plates from Hinata, and the four of them relocated to the dining table in the living room.

Naruto naturally took the seat next to Hinata. Naruto naturally took the seat next to Hinata, placing the plate between them.

Ino and Karin exchanged a fleeting, complex look—a shared, silent acknowledgment of the subtle sting of jealousy—before taking the seats opposite them.

For a few minutes, the only sounds in the apartment were the hum of the AC and the collective murmurs of bliss as they bit into the cold, sweet fruit.

"Mmm!"

"Oh, wow."

"So sweet!"

" *nomu*nomu* "

"Oh, it's so good," Karin agreed, leaning back in her chair.

The room filled with happy murmurs as the cold, sweet watermelon offered perfect relief from the summer heat.

"So," Naruto asked between bites, "how are the preparations going for tomorrow? It's Team Assignment day."

Everyone looked at Ino. As the heiress of the Yamanaka clan and the undeniable extrovert of the group, she usually took the lead in these conversations.

Karin was still working through the lingering trauma of her time in Kusa, Hinata was naturally reserved, and Naruto... well, Naruto had become someone who spoke only when he had something substantial to say since his change .

"Well, my placement is pretty much guaranteed," Ino said confidently and disappointedly , flipping her blonde hair.

Ino swallowed her bite of melon, her blue eyes sparkling with confidence. "Well,. It's going to be Ino-Shika-Cho, all the way. It's tradition. I've been running group exercises with Shikamaru and Choji for the past month so we don't trip over each other on day one."

She puffed her chest out slightly, a proud smirk on her lips. "I've also been grinding the clan jutsu, and I've got a solid handle on the Breathing Technique. Plus, my dad helped me safely master the basic Chakra Burst."

Naruto nodded approvingly. He knew the details of the Jutsu well. The version of Chakra Burst Ino was learning was the heavily modified, "safe" variant of his original technique—the one that completely eliminated the suicidal Eight Inner Gates component.

It still required a robust physical foundation, but to truly master it without tearing muscles, one needed to train under the strict supervision of a medical shinobi or a clan head.

It was a technique reserved for those with resources—like the wealthy heiresses Ino and Hinata, or those with direct access to the hospital.

When used correctly, it acted as a certified B-Rank Body Flicker and a devastating, momentum-based burst punch. It was a perfect tool for a Yamanaka, who usually lacked close-quarters stopping power.

"That's smart," Naruto said. He turned his piercing gaze toward the red-haired Uzumaki across from him.

"What about you, Karin? Are you still planning on joining the Sealing Corps full-time instead of taking a Genin squad?"

Karin's confident posture suddenly deflated. She looked down at her half-eaten watermelon, a deeply troubled expression crossing her face. She pushed her glasses up her nose, avoiding his eyes.

"No. Tsunade-sama vetoed that plan. She told me I have to join a regular Genin team and learn standard fieldwork for at least a year before I can officially join the Corps."

The table fell silent. Naruto, Ino, and Hinata all looked surprised. Karin's original career path had been strictly academic and rear-guard.

While Karin was undoubtedly a shinobi, and had received , practical training from Tsunade and Shizune over the 2 year, her raw physical fitness and combat scores were only average compared to the rest of their graduating class.

Karin's true value lay in her sensory abilities , Sealing Prowess and her Medical arts, Sending her into the field felt risky.

Naruto's brow furrowed, a genuine flash of worry darkening his features.

"Do you want me to talk to Tsunade-nee? I can convince her to let you stay in the Sealing Corps."

Hearing the protective edge in his voice, a swarm of butterflies erupted in Karin's stomach. She smiled warmly, her cheeks dusting pink.

"It's not that serious, Naruto , I appreciate it, but Tsunade-sama already arranged a specific team for me. She said the squad I'm joining is already Chunin-caliber in terms of experience, but they're technically still in the Genin ranks. I just need to survive the field for a year, learn how a squad operates under pressure, and then I can transfer back to the Sealing Corps."

"Thank God," Ino muttered, leaning back. "I was picturing you getting stuck with Kiba and some other meathead."

"Umm... me too," Hinata chimed in softly.

"Yeah, I was worried there for a second," Naruto agreed.

With the crisis averted, the attention naturally shifted to the quietest member of the group. Everyone looked at Hinata.

Feeling the weight of their combined stares, the Hyuga heiress's cheeks flushed a brilliant, violent red. She ducked her head, suddenly fascinated by the rind of her watermelon, but she forced herself to speak up, her voice steady despite her shyness.

"I... I have been training in the Medical Arts at the hospital," Hinata murmured. "I've already mastered the C-Rank Healing Technique. And I've also been learning the Breathing Technique and the Chakra Burst at the Hyuga compound."

Naruto, Ino, and Karin just stared at her, wide-eyed smiles slowly spreading across their faces. Despite the fact that they had spent almost every day together over the last year, there was something inherently pure and gentle about Hinata that triggered a fierce, collective protective instinct in all of them.

Naruto was genuinely shocked though. He had heard from Tsunade that Hinata was a diligent student, but this level of progression was absurd.

(From a total novice who fainted at the sight of blood, to possessing the medical skills of a Chunin... in just a single year?)

Naruto thought, his mind flashing back to the towering stacks of medical encyclopedias Tsunade had forced him to read.

The sheer volume of memorization required for the Mystical Palm was staggering. Remembering those sleepless nights of studying anatomy, Naruto physically shuddered and took a massive, aggressive bite out of his watermelon to clear the memory.

"That's incredible, Hinata," Karin praised, reaching across the table to squeeze the Hyuga's hand.

Ino then turned her sharp gaze back to the blonde boy beside Hinata. "Alright, spill. What about you, Naruto? Besides drawing creepy tattoos and playing mad scientist "

"Still working on my seals," Naruto replied casually. "I practice the Chakra Burst once a night before bed to keep my muscles conditioned. Other than that, I'm trying to turn the Breathing Technique into Constant Breathing."

The casual delivery of that last sentence brought the table to a screeching halt.

Karin blinked. "What do you mean, 'constant'?"

"I mean making it an instinct," Naruto explained. "Right now, we have to consciously activate the technique. I'm training my body to maintain the breathing rhythm subconsciously, 24/7. Just like how we normally breathe, but constantly maintaining the chakra saturation.."

"...." X3

" Just Like how we constantly breathe without thinking about it. Integrating it so deeply into the autonomic nervous system that I do it while I walk, while I eat, and while I sleep."

The girls sat back, the realization of what he was saying hitting them like a physical blow

"But..." Ino started, doing the math in her head. "Wouldn't maintaining a technique like that constantly drain your chakra? You'd exhaust your chakra."

"Umm... yes and the physical toll on body would be immense," Hinata agreed, her Byakugan briefly flaring to life as she instinctively checked Naruto's coils.

But Karin, who possessed the sensory perception of a god, just sighed and rubbed her temples. She remembered the sheer, terrifying ocean of golden chakra she had sensed the night Naruto awakened his bloodline.

She remembered the fact that he was the Jinchuriki of the Nine-Tails.

"Well," Karin said dryly, giving Ino and Hinata a deadpan look, "he does have a lot of chakra and there is also Hundred Forge Seal"

Hearing Karin's blunt assessment, Ino and Hinata froze, realizing the absurdity of their concern.

Hinata remembered the blinding, sun-like density of Naruto's network that she had seen with her Byakugan.

Ino remembered the overwhelming, crushing weight of his presence when she accidentally linked her sensory jutsu to him months ago.

The heavy, serious ninja talk suddenly felt ridiculous.

Ino let out a sudden snort of laughter, which quickly cascaded into giggles from Hinata. Soon, the tense atmosphere evaporated, replaced by the warm, comfortable idle chatter of four teenagers.

They spent the rest of the afternoon eating watermelon, laughing about the absurdities of their Academy days, and enjoying the final hours of their childhood before the reality of the shinobi world claimed them tomorrow.
