Chapter 106 - Bloodline Limit

Senju Clan Grounds :

The Senju estate was usually a bastion of profound, undisturbed quiet during the early hours of the morning. Hidden away within the dense, ancient forestry of Konohagakure, the compound was insulated from the ambient noise of the village.

For Karin, sleep had always been a delicate thing. As a sensory type endowed with the rare and potent Kagura's Mind's Eye, her brain was constantly filtering the background "noise" of thousands of chakra signatures across the village.

Over the past few years, she had learned to tune out the static, anchoring her focus to the familiar, steady pulses of Tsunade, Shizune, and Ayaka within the estate.

But at 3:14 AM, her internal radar didn't just pick up a signal; it was violently blinded by one.

Karin gasped, bolting upright in her futon. Her hands flew to her head, fingers digging into her crimson hair as a wave of sheer, unadulterated heat washed over her sensory perception. It wasn't physical heat, but the psychic pressure of a chakra signature suddenly expanding at a terrifying, chaotic rate.

Naruto

It was his signature, but it felt entirely wrong. The usual dense, pressurized hum of his chakra was boiling, thrashing like a star on the verge of going supernova. And worse, the coordinates of his signature had just violently shifted from his apartment across the village to...

the front garden.

"MOM ...!!! Tsunade-sama...! " Karin screamed, her voice tearing through the silent hallways of the estate. She didn't bother grabbing her sandals; she sprinted barefoot across the tatami mats, throwing her bedroom door open with enough force to crack the wood.

She careened down the hallway, nearly colliding with a groggy Shizune, who was clutching a hastily tied robe.

"Karin? What is it? What's wrong?" Shizune asked, her medical instincts instantly kicking in at the sheer terror on the younger girl's face.

"It's Naruto! He's in the garden, and his chakra—it's burning!"

That was all it took. The sliding doors at the end of the hall slammed open, and Tsunade emerged.

The Legendary Sannin hadn't even bothered with her haori; her face was a mask of absolute, cold focus. Without a word, Tsunade bypassed them both, her bare feet pounding against the wooden floorboards as she sprinted toward the main entrance.

They burst out into the cool night air. The moon cast long, pale shadows across the manicured courtyard, but they didn't need the light to find him.

Naruto lay crumpled on the stone pathway near the koi pond, his body curled inward. The heavy S-Rank scroll for the Hundred Forge Seal was still locked in a death grip in his right hand. Even from ten feet away, Karin could feel the heat radiating off his skin. It was stifling.

Tsunade was on her knees beside him in a fraction of a second. Her hands flared with the brilliant, emerald light of the Mystical Palm Jutsu.

"His core temperature is astronomical," Tsunade gritted out, her eyes scanning his flushed, sweat-drenched face. "Pulse is erratic, racing at nearly two hundred beats per minute. His tenketsu are completely engorged, but the seal isn't leaking ??"

"Is it... is it the Kyuubi?" Shizune asked, terrified, dropping to her knees to assist with diagnostic seals.

"No," Tsunade said sharply, her brow furrowing as she pushed her medical chakra deeper into his network. "There's no trace of corrosive demonic chakra. This is purely his own biology. His cells are vibrating at a frequency I've never seen. Shizune, Ayaka—get a stretcher! We are moving him to the intensive ward, now. Karin, go boil water and pull the high-grade antipyretics from the vault!"

Karin nodded frantically, her Kagura's Mind's Eye still trembling as she watched the boy who usually stood so tall reduced to a shivering, burning mess.

------------------------------------

The morning sun brought no relief to the Hokage's office. Hiruzen Sarutobi stood by his window, a fresh pipe clenched tightly between his teeth, but he wasn't smoking. He was staring at the Senju compound in the distance.

Behind him, Neko, the purple-haired ANBU operative, knelt on the floor in total silence. Her squad had been monitoring Naruto's apartment when the boy vanished in a spatial micro-burst, only to receive a frantic, high-priority medical alert from the Senju estate minutes later.

"Report his current status," Hiruzen commanded, his voice heavy with exhaustion.

"Tsunade-sama has placed him in an ice bath to artificially regulate his core temperature," Neko reported, her usually stoic voice betraying a hint of genuine concern. "The fever has not broken. He remains completely unresponsive. Tsunade-sama has locked down the medical wing and requested absolute privacy."

Hiruzen closed his eyes, rubbing the deep lines on his forehead. The guilt was immediate and suffocating.

( Did I pushed him too hard ) the Hokage thought.

Just yesterday morning, Hiruzen had laid the massive, crushing weight of the Uzumaki legacy onto a twelve-year-old boy's shoulders. He had watched Naruto break down at the gates of his parents' home. And then, less than two hours later, the boy had masked that trauma with action, hiring contractors and spending millions of ryo to renovate the estate.

"It's psychosomatic," Hiruzen murmured, pacing back to his desk. "A stress-induced physiological collapse."

"Lord Hokage?" Neko asked softly.

"The boy is strong, Neko. He possesses a brilliant mind and a terrifying work ethic," Hiruzen explained, gesturing to the architectural blueprints of the new Uzumaki estate sitting on his desk.

"But the mind can only compartmentalize so much trauma before the body rebels. The revelation of his inheritance... the sheer emotional whiplash of transitioning from an outcast to a House head in a single morning. He forced himself to stay focused, to keep moving forward, and his system simply gave out."

It was a perfectly logical hypothesis. The ANBU had seen veterans of the Third Shinobi War collapse in much the same way after returning from extended, high-stress black-ops missions. Once the adrenaline faded, the body demanded payment.

"Withdraw the guard detail from his apartment," Hiruzen ordered, sinking heavily into his chair. "Relocate your squad to the perimeter of the Senju estate. Ensure no one disturbs Tsunade's work. She has full authority over his medical care."

"Yes, Lord Hokage." Neko vanished in a swirl of leaves, leaving the old man alone with his regrets.

--------------------------------------

By mid-morning, the news of Naruto's absence had subtly rippled through his immediate circle of friends .

At the Uzumaki apartment complex, Hinata Hyuga stood nervously at the door, holding a small, carefully wrapped bento box. Beside her, Ino Yamanaka tapped her foot impatiently, her arms crossed.

It was supposed to be a relaxing day off before their official Genin team assignments, and they had planned to drag Naruto out of his self-imposed training exile.

"He's not answering," Hinata said softly, her pale eyes laced with worry. "Should I... should I check inside?"

"Do it," Ino urged. "The guy is a workaholic, but he never ignores the door. Maybe he passed out mid-pushup."

Hinata brought her hands together, a single vein bulging near her temples. "Byakugan!"

Her monochromatic vision pierced the wooden door, sweeping through the apartment. "It's empty," she announced, deactivating her dojutsu with a frown. "The clones are gone. Even the animals aren't here. "

Before Ino could process what happened , the sound of hurried footsteps echoed down the hallway. Karin rounded the corner, her usual confident swagger entirely absent. She wore a simple medical apron over her clothes, dark bags under her eyes, and her red hair was tied back in a messy bun.

"Karin?" Ino asked, instantly dropping her annoyed posture. "You look terrible. Where's Naruto?"

Karin stopped, leaning against the wall to catch her breath. She had only come to the apartment to feed Simba and the birds, having spent the last six hours rotating ice packs.

"He's at the Senju estate," Karin said, her voice tight. "He's sick. Really sick. Tsunade-sama has been working on him since three in the morning."

Hinata dropped the bento box. It hit the floor with a dull thud, but she didn't even look down. "Sick? Naruto-kun doesn't get sick....... His chakra reserves and his breathing technique...... how could it be ?? "

"I know," Karin replied, rubbing her temples. "But his fever is off the charts. His body is practically burning from the inside out. I came to grab his pets food so they don't starve, but I'm heading straight back."

"We're coming with you," Ino declared, grabbing Hinata's hand. There was no hesitation, no room for argument. The Sensory Trinity had spent the last year bleeding, sweating, and studying together. If their center was down, they were all going down with him.

The walk to the Senju estate was agonizingly quiet. When they finally entered the compound, Shizune ushered them into the medical wing. The air in the room was heavy with the scent of rubbing alcohol and burning sage.

Naruto lay on a pristine white bed, stripped to his shorts. His skin was flushed a dangerous, bright red. Several intricate Fuinjutsu arrays were painted in specialized cooling ink across his chest and forehead, glowing faintly as Tsunade channeled a steady stream of medical chakra into his core.

Hinata rushed to his side, her hands hovering over his burning skin, tears pricking the corners of her eyes. Ino stood frozen at the foot of the bed, her empathic sensory abilities overwhelmed by the sheer, chaotic roar of Naruto's internal network. It felt like standing next to a jet engine.

This was the day that Hinata decided to focus on Medical Arts , This was the day Ino made up her mind and this was the day Karin understood someone's importance in her life .

2 Days Later :

SIde Room :

In the adjacent study, separated from the intensive care room by a thick shoji screen, Tsunade slammed a stack of medical charts onto a low table. Hiruzen Sarutobi sat opposite her, having quietly slipped away from the Hokage tower to check on his surrogate grandson.

"Your stress hypothesis is garbage, Sensei," Tsunade said bluntly, pouring herself a massive cup of sake and downing it in one swift motion.

Hiruzen sighed. "Tsunade, the boy went through an immense psychological ordeal yesterday. The mind—"

"I know how the mind works, old man," Tsunade interrupted, her amber eyes blazing. "I checked for psychosomatic shock. I checked for neuro-toxins. I even ran a full diagnostic on the Eight Trigrams Seal to see if the Kyuubi's chakra was leaking and burning his coils. The seal is flawless. The fox is fast asleep."

"Then what is causing a fever this severe?" Hiruzen demanded, his patience wearing thin.

Tsunade pulled a specific, heavily classified file from the bottom of the stack. It was bound in red leather. "Do you remember when Kushina first arrived in Konoha? Do you remember the 'incident' when she was Ten?"

Hiruzen's eyes widened slightly. "The Awakening."

"Exactly," Tsunade said, tapping the file. "The Uzumaki clan's genetic traits—the Adamantine Chains, the massive vitality, the sensory capabilities—they aren't always active from birth. In purebloods, the body sometimes undergoes a violent, sudden maturation process. A 'fever of awakening,' where the tenketsu physically expand to accommodate a denser, more potent form of chakra. Kushina was bedridden with a core temperature of 105 degrees , Karin was the same "

"But Kushina's fever lasted a single night," Hiruzen argued, looking toward the shoji screen. "It has been over two days for Naruto, and his temperature hasn't dropped a single degree. If this is a bloodline awakening, it's killing him."

Tsunade leaned heavily against the table, running a hand through her blonde hair. "That's the problem, Even I don't know what's happening but the data shows the Bloodline awakening "

Hiruzen fell silent, the weight of the revelation sinking in. "Is that so "

"All the data points to it," Tsunade confirmed softly. "His cellular regeneration is keeping the heat from melting his organs, but it's a deadlock. We just have to wait. If he survives this... the boy who wakes up will not be the same Genin who went to sleep."

The timer in the darkness of Naruto's subconscious ticked down mercilessly.

------------------------------

00 Hours 02 Minutes.

00 Hours 01 Minute.

00 Hours 00 Minutes.

[PROCESS COMPLETE]

----------------------------

At precisely midday on the third day, the chaotic, roaring inferno inside Naruto's body simply... stopped.

The transition wasn't gradual. One second, his tenketsu were practically screaming under the pressure; the next, a profound, icy clarity washed over his entire nervous system. The heat dissipated from his skin, replaced by a sensation of absolute, perfect equilibrium.

Before he even opened his eyes, Naruto realized something was drastically different. The world was overwhelmingly loud. But it wasn't a noise he heard with his ears.

To his left, a warm, gentle, lavender-colored pulse, vibrating with deep concern and quiet strength. (Hinata.)

Near his feet, a bright, sharp, violet frequency, buzzing with nervous, empathic energy. (Ino.)

Down the hall, a massive, roaring ocean of green vitality. (Tsunade.)

And sprinting down the corridor toward him, a brilliant crimson flare, perfectly synchronized with his own frequency. (Karin.)

Naruto slowly fluttered his eyes open. The blinding sunlight filtering through the window didn't hurt; his irises adjusted instantly, tracking the microscopic dust motes dancing in the air with terrifying precision.

"Naruto?" a soft, trembling voice whispered.

Naruto turned his head. Hinata was leaning over him, her pale eyes wide with shock as the bright red flush of his skin rapidly faded to a healthy, sun-kissed tan. Ino gasped from the foot of the bed, her hands flying to her mouth.

"You're... you're finally cool ," Hinata stammered, resting a trembling hand against his forehead. "The fever is gone."

Naruto let out a long, slow breath—a perfect cycle of Total Concentration Breathing that felt ten times smoother, as if his lungs had doubled in capacity. He sat up slowly, feeling the incredibly dense, coiled power resting comfortably within his muscles.

Before Naruto could speak, Hinata threw her arms around his neck, burying her face in his shoulder. A second later, Ino practically tackled him from the side, wrapping him in a crushing, tearful hug.

"You idiot!" Ino sobbed into his shirt. "Do you have any idea how scared we were? You've been burning up for three days!"

Naruto blinked, gingerly wrapping his arms around both of them. "Three days?" he croaked, his voice deeper, resonating with a new, subtle hum.

The shoji screen slammed open. Karin stood in the doorway, panting heavily, tears streaming down her face. Tsunade was right behind her, her eyes widening in sheer disbelief as she looked at the boy sitting up in bed.

"I felt it," Karin whispered, her Kagura's Mind's Eye completely overwhelmed. "Your chakra... it's like a bottomless ocean now. And..." She stared at him, bewildered. "You're looking at my chakra, aren't you?"

Naruto realized she was right. He wasn't just sensing her; he could "feel" the exact flow of her chakra, as clearly as if he looked at a painting.

Gently getting back at Hinata and Ino's embrace, Naruto closed his eyes for a fraction of a second and mentally called up his System Interface.

The translucent blue screen materialized, but a massive, glowing golden tab had been added to the main menu. He mentally clicked it, and the text expanded before his eyes.

[ BLOODLINE LIMIT : TRAITS ]

1 : The Namikaze Bloodline Limit : Hyper-Reflexes

2 : Uzumaki Bloodline Limit :

A - Adamantine Sealing Chains (Kongo Fusa): Ability to manifest physical chains of highly condensed chakra from the Body. Capable of subduing Bijuu-level entities and establishing absolute barrier seals.

C - Kagura's Mind's Eye (Kagura Shingan): Absolute sensory perception. Capable of tracking chakra signatures across country-sized distances, identifying lies through chakra fluctuation, and predicting enemy movements via intent-sensing.

----------------------------------------------------------

( why is there no description of Hyper-reflexes )

Naruto stared at the glowing text, his mind racing at the implications. but soon he focused back on the important things.

Naruto dismissed the screen and looked up at the four women staring at him with a mixture of relief and awe. A slow, genuine smile spread across his face, entirely free of the masks he used to wear.

"Sorry to keep you all waiting," Naruto said softly, his newly awakened sensory net wrapping comfortingly around the room.
