Chapter 85 - Weapon

Konohagakure no sato :

Konoha Academy ( 3 hours earlier ) :

Back in the Academy, the shadows had stretched into darkness. A sharp gasp cut through the silence of the corridor.

Neji Hyūga's eyes snapped open. He was lying on the wooden floor, a throbbing pain radiating from his jaw and stomach. For a moment, he simply stared at the ceiling, his mind a blank slate.

( ....What... happened? )

Then, the memory flooded back—the orange blur, the speed that mocked his Byakugan, and the weight of a fist that didn't care about his "destiny."

Neji sat up slowly, clutching his midsection.

The shock was more painful than the physical injury. Neji had lived his life under the absolute belief that a person's path was set at birth—that a failure would always be a failure. But he had just been systematically dismantled by the person he considered the greatest failure of all.

He was faster. He was stronger. He won.

The disappointment in himself was a bitter pill, but the realization was worse: if Naruto could change his fate through sheer will and training,

then Neji's entire philosophy—his justification for his own bitterness—was a lie. With a face like stone and a heart full of cold realization, Neji stood up and began the long walk back to the Clan manor.

Minutes later, Neji knelt in the center of the Hyūga Clan's main hall. The atmosphere was suffocatingly formal. Hiashi Hyūga sat on the raised tatami, his expression unreadable as he looked down at the branch house genius.

"Report," Hiashi commanded.

Neji didn't hesitate. He spoke with a blunt, painful honesty. "The Heiress fainted and was accompanied by Uzumaki Naruto. I attempted to take custody of her and dismiss the boy. However.... I was defeated."

"Defeated? " Hiashi's eyes narrowed. ( By the Kyūbi brat? )

" explain everything truthfully without leaving anything "

"Yes," Neji replied, his voice steady despite the shame. Neji described everything 'truthfully'

"He utilized a Body Flicker and Taijutsu that I could not track, even with my Byakugan active. He ended the confrontation in two strikes. ....He has become... something else."

The air in the grand hall of the Hyūga manor was thick enough to choke a lesser shinobi.

Hiashi Hyūga sat perfectly still, his white eyes fixed on Neji. To any outsider, Neji was merely a Branch House member, but within these walls, he was the pride of the clan's martial prowess . Acknoledged by Clan HEad and even the stubborn Elders .

"A failure who defies fate..." Hiashi repeated softly, his voice carrying a sudden, sharp edge. "Or perhaps we were the ones failing to see the truth of his power, even after all the information we possessed."

Behind his closed eyelids, Hiashi's mind raced through classified folders and memories of a night Ten years ago.

Hiashi thought of the Fourth Hokage, Minato Namikaze—the man who moved like a yellow flash and redefined the limits of speed. He thought of Kushina Uzumaki, a woman of legendary vitality and terrifying chakra.

( How could their child truly be a dead-last? )

Hiashi wondered, a cold chill of realization washing over him.

( The blood of the Fourth and the Uzumaki did'nt produce failures. .... If the Kid has finally stopped playing the fool and embraced that legacy... then the village—)

While the Hyūga leadership spiraled into a tactical panic, the "variable" in question was standing at the edge of the estate's outer walls.

Naruto stood there, his hands in his pockets, He maintained his Acting Skill perfectly—projecting a sense of calm, protective strength rather than the erratic energy of his past

"Well, I guess this is it for today,"

Naruto said, his voice soft. He turned to Hinata and gave her a smile that was actually 80% genuine and only 20% calculated.

"I'm really glad we got to spend this time together, Hinata. And I'm even gladder that you're the one who saw me today."

Hinata felt as though she were floating. The boy who was the center of her world for years had just called their time together "special."

" I... Me too, Naruto-kun," she whispered, bowing slightly. "Please... be careful with your training. Don't let Hattori-sensei hurt you too much."

"Don't worry," Naruto winked, a flash of his old playfulness peeking through his new, refined persona.

"I'm a lot tougher than I look. See you at the Academy, Hinata "

He watched her walk through the gates, her steps lighter than they had ever been. Once she was out of sight, Naruto's expression shifted. The warmth remained, but a sharp, analytical edge returned to his Mind

Naruto muttered to himself. " I think I've earned a soak."

----------------------------------------

Konoha Academy :

The past month had seen a quiet but seismic shift in the social hierarchy of the Academy. Nowhere was this more evident than on the Academy roof.

Especially For the past three days, Naruto and Hinata had shared lunch under the shade of the ventilation tower.

The sight of them—Naruto speaking animatedly and Hinata actually responding without fainting—had left his classmates reeling. Ino Yamanaka, usually the queen of gossip, had been speechless when Naruto introduced Hinata to the group. The shyest girl in class was now the closest companion of the class's most improved student.

Even more intimate were Hinata's visits to the training ground. She had an almost 'uncanny' sense of timing, always arriving just as Hattori-sensei finished his brutal sessions or when his other classmates weren't around.

In those quiet hours, she would watch him practice, sometimes offering him water or simply providing the silent support he had craved for years.

Training with Hattori had evolved into a mental and physical chess match. Hattori had drawn a small, perfect circle in the dirt around Naruto.

"The rules are simple, brat," Hattori had growled. "You don't leave the circle. You don't get hit. If you move an inch outside the line, we start over. If a stone touches your skin, we start over."

To survive this, Naruto relied on his Great Sage skill. It wasn't a new tool, but its integration was becoming more complex

With Great Sage Active , Naruto's perception shifts. His body moves with a mathematical grace that defies standard physics.

The skill analyzes the trajectory of every incoming stone, calculating the precise, minimal movement required to dodge while remaining within the circle. It's not just dodging; it's an efficient dance of micro-movements.

Naruto noticed a peculiar phenomenon. The day after using Great Sage, his body still "remembered" the movements. His instincts felt sharpened, his reflexes almost pre-programmed. It was as if the skill was physically writing high-level combat data into his nervous system.

However, the downside was clear.

Without the Sage active, he couldn't improve the patterns. He could execute what he already knew, but making new progress or adapting to faster attacks without the skill felt like trying to run through waist-deep water.

He was a master of what he had been "written" to do, but stagnant without the "Editor."

----------------------------------------------

The Konoha Archive Library :

It was a rare holiday, and Naruto found himself back in the quiet, dust-moted air of the Konoha Archive Library. He had been a regular here for months, yet the sheer volume of history was staggering; he had barely scratched 10% of the available scrolls.

After meticulously rolling up a scroll on the Early Infrastructure of the Hidden Leaf, he moved to return it. As he slid it into its slot, his eyes caught something tucked away in the deepest corner of the high-shelf "Legends & Taboos" section.

It was a massive, ancient scroll. The paper was thicker than usual, bound with a weathered crimson cord, and it radiated an aura that felt... familiar. It felt heavy, cold, and lonely.

Naruto reached up and pulled it down. The dust puffed into the air as he unrolled the first few inches. His breath hitched, and his heart hammered against his ribs like a trapped bird.

The title was written in a script that seemed to bleed into the parchment

"A VILLAGE'S JINCHURIKI : THE LEGACY OF THE CLAWED VESSELS"

The word Jinchuriki (The Power of Human Sacrifice) stared back at him. It was a word he had only heard in whispers—the kind of whispers that stopped when he entered a room.

< Biological response detected. Adrenaline spike. Heart rate: 145 BPM. Critical lore data identified. Proceed with caution.>

Naruto's hands gripped the edges of the ancient parchment so tightly his knuckles turned white. The MindHub and Great Sage shifted into high-processing mode, translating the archaic kanji and cross-referencing the information with his current reality.

As he unrolled the scroll further, the text became a comprehensive breakdown of the existence he had been living without even knowing its name.

The scroll described the "Tailed Beasts" as "Calamities of Pure Chakra." It stated they were sentient forces of nature that could not be truly destroyed. If slain, their chakra would eventually reform elsewhere. To protect the village, they had to be bound.

The record listed the beasts by their tail count, describing them as the ultimate tactical assets held by the Great Nations:

The One-Tail: A desert-dwelling entity of sand and wind, held by the Hidden Sand.

The Two-Tail: A shimmering feline of blue spectral flames, held by the Hidden Cloud.

The Three-Tail: A massive, armored aquatic beast of the Hidden Mist.

The Four-Tail: A mountain-dwelling creature of lava and stone.

The Five-Tail: A white, horned beast of steam and physical force.

The Six-Tail: A corrosive, gas-emitting entity of the damp forests.

The Seven-Tail: An armored, winged insectoid of the skies.

The Eight-Tail: A colossal creature of ink and immense physical power.

The Nine-Tails: ( Kyubi no Yoko ) - The apex calamity. Described as a fox of infinite malice, its power is said to be greater than all others combined. It is the disaster that nearly erased Konoha twelve years ago.

Naruto sat silently at his seat , his face expressionless and breath hitched , Naruto read the scroll and focused on the terms described especially

The scroll laid out the grim reality of the Jinchūriki—the "Power of Human Sacrifice.

( Despite Knowing things , why does it hit different ......why ?? )

It detailed how Hashirama Senju, the First Hokage, captured several beasts to stabilize the power balance between nations. While Konoha sealed the Nine-Tails to protect itself, other villages like Sunagakure and Iwa studied their vessels to replicate their abilities.

Ultimately, these people were viewed as nothing more than "military potential."

(..... A WEAPON )

The text noted that Jinchūriki are often hated and shunned, treated as if they are the beast. Because they leak the beast's presence or malicious chakra, the villagers naturally recoil. "Villages are often glad to be rid of the person," the scroll read, "but cannot lose the asset."

To prevent them from becoming missing-nin, tradition dictates that a Jinchūriki be related to the village's Kage.

The scroll explained that not anyone can become Jinchuriki , a special physique is needed to become Jinchuriki , another solution being that most are sealed at birth to allow their bodies to acclimate.

( Uzumaki ?? )

However, not just anyone can survive; it requires a specific level of compatibility and special chakra types. Naruto's eyes lingered on the final, brutal rule:

The removal of a Tailed Beast causes the immediate death of the Jinchūriki.

Naruto kept reading the scroll like a ghost possessed , reading once , reading twice . reading again and again

Despite knowing everything , Naruto under the Acting Skill and Great Sage skill's effect 'behaved' just like a normal boy , A BOY who is now much steady and calm . The 'expressions' on his face were 'very genuine'

Naruto stared at the words extraordinary power and chakra cloaks. He realized his accelerated healing, his massive stamina, and even his ability to push through Hattori's training weren't just "hard work." They were the byproduct of the monster living in his gut.

The Realisation

Compatibility

Circumstances

Uzumaki Naruto wasn't a child of the village; he was a Living Strategic Asset. A "Human Pillar" buried in the foundation of Konoha to keep a disaster at bay. Every cold look from a shopkeeper, every whisper from the elders, every moment he was ignored—it was all in the scroll. They didn't see Naruto. They saw the cage.

"So that's why," Naruto whispered to the empty, dust-filled air.

Despite knowing it , naruto felt shattered at the naked reality

( Canon Naruto didn't even understood anything , he was just a happy go lucky brainwashed kid ...if not for 4th world war and other things , would things have been the same)

The Reality and The weight of the realization nearly crushed his "Acting" persona , Naruto sat there in the silence, a boy holding the weight of a god, realizing his life was a state-sanctioned sacrifice.

( ....The Reality hits different )

He looked at his stomach, where the Eight Trigrams Seal lay hidden, feeling the hum of a power that wasn't his—a power that made him a god to the world, but a monster to his home

The silence of the Archive Library felt heavier now, as if the dust motes themselves were laden with the secrets of the dead.

( let's see if there is something more )

Naruto didn't stop at the first scroll. With MindHub operating at peak analytical capacity, he systematically combed the surrounding shelves, his movements ghost-like and efficient.

Naruto found supplementary records—fragments of sealing theory and tactical deployment logs. He read about the "Chakra Cloak," a shroud of boiling red energy that granted the host terrifying power but at the cost of their own skin and sanity.

He read about the "Tailed Beast Ball," a dense sphere of compressed chakra capable of erasing entire landscapes.

Naruto rolled the scrolls back up with trembling hands. He placed them exactly where he had found them.

Naruto slipped out of the library through a side exit, avoiding the main desk. He didn't want to see the librarian's face. He didn't want to see any face.

( even while acting ....I feel tired )

As Naruto walked through Konoha, the village looked different. The warm orange glow of the streetlamps felt like the mocking eyes of the Nine-Tails.

The happy families eating dinner through open windows felt like a world he was protecting, yet could never truly be a part of. He was the "Human Pillar"—the sacrifice holding up their peace.

Every time a villager walked past and reflexively gave him a wide berth, Naruto didn't feel anger. He felt a cold.

Naruto reached his apartment, locked the door, and didn't turn on the lights. He sat on the floor in the center of the room, the moonlight through the window casting long shadows over his scarred training jacket.

( I want to sleep ......maybe all this ...is just a dream )

But soon the silence was broken by the whimpering of a pup , hoots of an Owl and croaks of Ravens .

And Naruto was soon was surrounded by the warmth .

--------------------------------------------

The Hokage Office :

Hiruzen Sarutobi, the Third Hokage, sat behind his mahogany desk, the smoke from his pipe curling toward the ceiling in lazy, grey ribbons.

The Hokage's office was a tomb of thick tobacco smoke, illuminated only by the ethereal, flickering glow of the crystal ball on the desk. Hiruzen Sarutobi, the Third Hokage, leaned over the glass, his eyes unblinking.

Through the scrying jutsu, he had watched every moment: Naruto's hand reaching for the massive red scroll, the hitch in his breath as he read the words "Human Pillar," and the cold, surgical detail of the Tailed Beasts.

( ....so it has begun )

This was no accident. The Third Hokage had personally orchestrated the "leak." Having analyzed Naruto's recent excellence—his sudden mastery of skills, his mental fortitude, and his growing relationship with others especially Clans .

the Hokage realized that a boy this sharp would uncover the secret soon enough. Better it happen now, under controlled observation, than as a chaotic revelation on the battlefield after graduation.

But while the "Grandpa" felt a crushing guilt, the Hokage was in full battle mode.

( A hokage can not risk the village for a simple trust )

Village Status: Code Red. High-level alerts were quietly disseminated to clan heads.

Tactical Deployment: Ten elite ANBU teams—sixty of the village's finest—were coiled in the shadows surrounding Naruto's apartment, ready to execute "Plan Final" at a second's notice.

The Hokage's Readiness: Beneath his ceremonial robes, Hiruzen had donned his black mesh-and-plate battle gear. Enma's summoning Staff was tucked onto his desk.

Sealing Squad: A specialized unit of Fūinjutsu masters sat in a nearby subterranean chamber, their hands hovering over a suppression array, prepared to reinforce Naruto's seal if the Nine-Tails' malice spiked.

Hiruzen watched the ball as Naruto walked home. The boy's "mask"—that carefully crafted persona—had completely vanished. His face was a raw map of turmoil, his eyes hollow and shattered. It was the look of a child who had realized he was the foundation of a house that hated him.

Looking through his Crystal Ball , The Hokage Saw that

Naruto reached his apartment and didn't even flick the light switch. He sat in the center of the room, moonlight cutting across his shoulder, his head buried in one hand. The silence was deafening.

Hiruzen's grip on his pipe tightened. ( Don't break, Naruto ) he pleaded internally.

( Prove my trust right and my fears wrong )

Then, a subtle shift occurred. From the shadows of the apartment and the open window, —the small pup , Ravens and The Owl began to creep in. They didn't bark or croked; they simply sensed the heavy, cold aura of his grief and huddled around him .

The "Grandpa" in Hiruzen felt a surge of warmth as he saw Naruto's hand move instinctively, softly petting a small dog that had tucked itself under his arm.

By midnight, the tension in the office eased slightly as Naruto's pragmatism returned. He summoned a few Shadow Clones—not for training, but for the mundane task of preparing a simple dinner.

( .....naruto .....you really are a brave child )

Naruto ate in silence, the clones dissipating into puffs of smoke before the real Naruto climbed into bed, exhausted by the mental weight of the world .

The "Grandpa" wanted to go home and sleep, relieved by the boy's restraint. But the Hokage remained.

(......good so far )

The Hokage did not remove his armor. He did not put down his pipe. Like a hawk watching its prey, his eyes never left the crystal ball. He watched Naruto's rhythmic breathing through the night, his hand never straying from the desk where he could signal the ANBU at the first sign of red chakra.

Hiruzen whispered into the smoke. "But the morning brings a different kind of trial. Now let'see if you can still move forward "
