This was their first time using the teleportation circle. They had no idea where in the base they would land. Of course, Ember expected it to be a neutral location. It wouldn't make sense to drop them into their rooms.
And just as she thought, the circle brought them to the square.
When they arrived, they saw people running towards the square. Their faces looked horrified. Alex and Marcus were the first to arrive.
"Why do you all look like that?" Ember asked.
Alex took a deep breath before answering, "If you saw a random blue light in the base that you knew nothing about, you would look like this, too."
"We thought it was something like the blackout from last time," Marcus added.
By this time, the rest of the people had already arrived. They stood watching the five who had returned through unconventional means.
"Yeah, yeah, we're sexy. You don't need to stare," Ivan teased.
"Sexy my ass," Alex retorted. Ivan sent a flying kiss in return.
