Mary Jane nodded silently in response to Peter's greeting, her cheeks faintly flushed.
This immediately excited Peter Parker. He nudged Harry Osborn with his elbow. "Dude, do you think Mary Jane has a thing for me? She actually blushed!"
Harry looked at his good friend, utterly speechless.
No way, man. Are you really still that innocent? Wait, you're already a senior and you've never slept with a girl? Wait.. did you not even watch porn?
That was clearly the afterglow of being fucked silly!
If Luke hadn't thoroughly tended the flower, how could it be blooming so vividly?
Harry patted Peter on the shoulder with a meaningful look. "Buddy, I'll take you out for a good meal some other day. Then you'll understand."
"Oh, right. Don't tell anyone else what you just said, or you'll be laughed to death."
Peter was confused. Was there something wrong with what he had just said?
After thinking it over carefully, he became even more puzzled.
There was no problem at all!
How could a single sentence possibly give anything away?
"Hey, Evan, where are you planning to go during the break?"
"Ugh, don't get me started. My friends and I originally planned to camp at Crystal Lake, but wasn't Crystal Lake sealed off a while ago? So we changed plans and decided to head to North Carolina for a change of scenery. I heard there's a pretty good campsite there too."
"What about you, Dale?"
"I'm planning to go back to my hometown in California, check out the University of California, and experience farm life on my family's rural property."
"Man, what's the fun in a farm? I'm going abroad to broaden my horizons. I heard there's a famous haunted house in Korea called Gonjiam. Supposedly it's super thrilling!"
"Hey, why don't you come with me to Maine? I heard it's become haunted recently!"
"I'm planning to visit Derry, the town closest to where the incident happened, and celebrate my coming of age there."
Senior year of high school was nearing its end.
Facing several months of vacation, the soon-to-be adults began making their own grand plans to ...court death.
There was a reason why the population was so sparse.
They were either courting death, or already on their way to it.
Luke listened quietly from the back row.
Respect others' fate. Let go of the urge to help.
Derry, Crystal Lake, Gonjiam… You guys are braver than ever.
Fortunately, this was the final semester. Otherwise, Luke would genuinely worry that only a handful of people would return to the classroom after the break.
He even wondered whether the school would face massive compensation claims if something happened to these students.
"Luke, where are you planning to go for summer vacation?"
Mary Jane was sitting in Madison's seat at the moment, speaking softly to Luke.
Luke thought for a moment. "It depends. Maybe I'll go to Silent Hill, or maybe I'll just stay home."
Mary Jane nodded, her cheeks tinged with red, and asked softly, "Then… can I come visit you?"
Seeing how cautious she was, Luke nodded. "Of course you can."
Luke wasn't heartless. After all, Mary Jane had given herself to him, so it was only natural that he would spend time with her.
Hearing this, Mary Jane felt secretly delighted.
She already knew that Luke had many women, all of whom were said to be outstanding.
Mary Jane, who had grown up somewhat insecure due to her father's domestic violence, had little confidence in competing for more of Luke's attention.
She could only do her best to accommodate him, yet no matter how much effort she put in, she still couldn't fully satisfy him.
Mary Jane was deeply afraid of being abandoned by Luke.
She had become addicted to that soaring sensation.
If she left Luke, she might never experience that pleasure again.
Just then, a streak of golden light suddenly flashed outside the window.
Accompanied by the roar of thunder and the howl of gale-force winds,
Luke knew without even looking that someone from Asgard had arrived.
Within the range of his 3D stereoscopic view, Thor stepped out from a halo formed by runic symbols.
His target was unmistakable: the direction where Luke was.
"Why is Thor here?"
Luke thought about it briefly, then simply left the classroom, skipping class.
Once skipping class happens the first time, there will be a second time.
Luke was already accustomed to skipping class. After all, grades and evaluations were completely irrelevant to him.
Just as he reached the school gate,
Thor swung his hammer toward him. "Hey, buddy! I came to see you!"
Ignoring the wary gaze of the security guard, Thor strode straight in, pushing past security as he curiously looked around at his surroundings.
"I didn't realize you were still in school. How old are you now?"
"Eighteen. Why?" Luke replied.
"What? Eighteen?!"
Thor's eyes widened. He was already over fifteen hundred years old, yet he couldn't beat an eighteen-year-old kid.
Luke saw his expression and knew exactly what Thor was thinking, so he teased him. "How old are you this year?"
Thor coughed twice, inspiration striking. "I'm thirty this year. Not bad. Only twelve years older than you."
Asgardians generally lived to around five thousand years.
Fifteen hundred years was roughly equivalent to thirty years by Earth standards, so it checked out.
Luke didn't expose Thor's self-deception. Instead, he glanced at Thor's slightly swollen eyes in surprise. "Who hit you?"
Thor subconsciously covered his eyes, recalling how he had just been struck in the eye by the Eternal Spear while sparring with Odin.
"It's nothing. I accidentally hit my headboard while sleeping. You know, my bed is made of uru metal. If nothing else, it's hard."
Thor's eyes darted around as he spoke, his tone clearly unconvincing.
After all, he was Thor of Asgard, the future king.
His pride wouldn't allow him to lose face in front of Luke.
Luke's mouth twitched slightly. "What are you doing on Earth this time?"
At that, Thor brightened immediately.
"Nothing much. I just came to see my friend—you!" Thor said cheerfully, patting his chest.
He absolutely would not admit that he had come to Earth specifically to avoid the wrath of a furious Odin.
Thor was clearly uncomfortable lying. His eyes kept darting around as he spoke, commenting casually, "I always thought that aside from Asgard, all other worlds were steeped in hardship."
"But I didn't expect Midgard to be surprisingly peaceful."
"What a beautiful and tranquil place!"
Luke shook his head, speechless. "Not exactly tranquil. It's just one step away from the abyss."
Thor paused for a moment, then burst out laughing. "I didn't realize you liked joking too. Let me take a look around here—"
"Oh my God, flying sharks!"
"What? What kind of shark can fly?"
Thor followed the sound in shock, only to see pedestrians all around them tilting their heads up toward the sky.
A bizarre tornado carrying sharks was sweeping toward New York City.
"Sharknado?!"
Luke was momentarily stunned when he saw it. The Sharknado actually showed up.
Could it be a tornado caused by the chaotic energy released when Thor arrived?
[Anomalous Object Sharknado detected. Gained 100 Anomaly Points. Current Anomaly Points: 400 / 3600]
At this moment, the Sharknado was carrying hundreds, possibly thousands, of sharks, flinging them wildly from unknown origins.
Massive sharks snapped their jaws as they fell like rain.
Some plunged headfirst into trash bins, others smashed into roadside sewers, and a few skewered themselves straight onto flagpoles, creating literal shark kebabs.
A live demonstration of the hundred ways a shark could die.
But it wasn't over yet.
It seemed the Sharknado had swept through an oil storage facility somewhere.
The tornado first turned an eerie dark gray, and then—Boom!!
The Sharknado successfully evolved into a Shark Firenado!
This spectacle directly shattered many people's worldviews.
Even Thor couldn't help but comment in confusion, "Midgard's tornadoes… are quite interesting."
Luke shook his head speechlessly and pressed his hand downward.
The raging, roaring Shark Firenado instantly collapsed, turning into countless torrents of water and falling sharks, as if an invisible giant hand had suddenly cut off its energy supply.
However, no Anomaly Points were awarded.
Clearly, this thing was only worth a one-time achievement.
Luke shook his head in disappointment.
Just then...
Several bolts of lightning suddenly appeared in the sky, which had only just cleared.
These lightning bolts were different from natural lightning.
Although they were equally dazzling, their power was far weaker.
Moreover, they plunged separately into the ground. If Luke hadn't caught a flash of electrical light within his 3D stereoscopic view, he might have even wondered whether it was an illusion.
At the very least, most of the people present didn't notice these scattered bolts of lightning at all.
Thor paid them no attention. To him, they were just a few minor sparks, nothing worth fussing over.
But Luke's expression turned grave.
