"Like this!" Elaris chirped, reaching behind her back with a mischievous little grin and pulling something out from under the hem of her sundress.
"Tada~ Look at this magical item Aria brought me!" She spun it between her delicate fingers like a prize.
I blinked, tilting my head. "Aria? Really?" Surprise and amusement colored my voice as I glanced over at the warrior in question.
Aria's mouth was currently stuffed to bursting with cake. She could only give a vigorous little nod—cheeks puffed out like a chipmunk—which somehow made her look ten times softer than her usual battle-hardened self.
The three of us—me, Sarah, Elaris—immediately dissolved into laughter at the sight of her struggling not to choke while trying to look dignified.
Aria's face went bright red. She shoved the plate away with a muffled grunt, mumbled something about "finishing this in my room," and practically fled upstairs, crumbs still clinging to her chin.
