Chapter 160 - Chapter 159 When Loki Met Hulk

Everyone generally agreed with Hawkeye Barton's words.

Sokovia itself was a small country with a tiny territory, and everyone had confirmed Ultron's identity as an intelligent robot with an army of Iron Legions.

So, everyone could roughly imagine what that battle in Sokovia was like: it must have been a great war between the Avengers and the Iron Legions!

A battle of that magnitude would undoubtedly have left Sokovia in ruins, or even completely destroyed it.

It was precisely because of this that the Avengers attracted high international attention, which in turn led to the emergence of the Sokovia Accords, designed to restrict the Avengers' actions.

As more clues were gathered, the related puzzle naturally became more complete.

However, regarding Hawkeye Barton's statement that the "civil war" between Tony Stark and Captain America could be avoided, everyone still expressed some concern.

This was because the root cause of their civil war was not the Battle of Sokovia, but Bucky's murder of Howard and Maria Stark!

Now that Tony Stark knew this, the rift between him and Captain America had already appeared!

But for this point, everyone had no solution, not even knowing how to mediate.

Because from the perspectives of both Tony Stark and Captain America, they would find that their respective actions were actually flawless.

Everyone present felt that if they were in the same situation, they would do the same thing as the other party.

This matter was simply too tricky.

[Please answer the question: In the Battle of New York, Loki and the Hulk met in Stark Tower. What happened next?]

[A. Loki used mind magic to control the Hulk]

[B. Loki used trickery to defeat the Hulk]

[C. Loki defeated the Hulk in a head-on battle]

[D. Loki was thoroughly thrashed by the Hulk]

[Friendly reminder: Correct answers will receive the reward of Night Vision skill; incorrect answers will result in a random deduction of one personal attribute, including but not limited to knowledge, experience, skills, possessions, etc...]

In a slightly oppressive atmosphere, a new question appeared, and everyone couldn't help but glance at Loki beside them.

They hadn't expected that the second question would be Loki's "exclusive question."

"Is it my turn? I was wondering when it would be my turn."

Loki was also slightly surprised. He scanned everyone present, "But I tell you, no matter what tricks you try to pull, they are useless in front of a god from Asgard."

Up to this point, according to Loki's observation, this was just a quiz with prizes, nothing more.

But Loki didn't believe that these people in front of him would go to such great lengths to set up this quiz just to have him answer questions.

There must be some other purpose.

As for claims of predicting the future, Loki currently didn't believe them at all.

"Everyone, this question is actually not difficult. Do we really want to leave the answering opportunity to Loki?" Hawkeye Barton glanced at everyone and asked seriously.

Answering the question wasn't free; if they answered correctly, there would be a reward. Wouldn't that be equivalent to strengthening the enemy's power?

"Barton, since the quiz system chose him, let's let him answer," Captain America said to Hawkeye Barton after some thought.

"Barton, I know what you're worried about, but your worries are unnecessary," Black Widow said to Hawkeye Barton with a profound meaning.

This question wasn't difficult in everyone's eyes, but it wasn't the case for Loki.

He didn't know some relevant information, so his chances of answering correctly were actually not high.

"Loki, this question is about you, so... you decide whether or not you want to answer," Nick Fury said to Loki with a serious expression.

"Why not?" Loki said as a matter of course.

He was a dignified god of Asgard; would he fear the tricks of a few Midgard mortals?

That would be a joke.

Loki then focused his gaze on the big screen.

"Does anyone here know anything about the Hulk?" Loki then asked everyone present.

However, as expected, no one present paid any attention to Loki.

"Fine! No problem!" Loki shrugged and stopped paying attention to everyone present, starting to answer the question himself.

"Being thoroughly thrashed by the Hulk? That's simply nonsense, an insult to one's intelligence!" Loki glanced at the options and couldn't help but sneer, immediately ruling out D.

He was the son of Odin, Thor's brother, the Prince of Asgard!

Even if his combat power was inferior to Thor's, it was only inferior to Thor's.

Within the Nine Realms, his combat power was actually top-tier.

Not to mention that Loki's greatest strength wasn't combat, but magic.

Being thrashed by something like the Hulk, whose name alone suggested he was trash, was simply too absurd.

"Although I'm not yet clear about what this Battle of New York is, if I were to encounter the Hulk, I would definitely be the one to win."

Loki said confidently, then began to filter through the remaining three options, "So now the only question is how I would defeat the Hulk."

"My magic, my schemes, these are all my strengths. I must say, you really understand me."

"Head-on battle? That's certainly possible. My combat power is also top-tier in the Nine Realms, but considering that I'm dealing with a giant, I might not go head-to-head."

"I'm not Thor."

"According to the description of the question, the Hulk and I met in Stark Tower, which should be an encounter battle."

"And schemes are often planned in advance, so if it's an encounter battle, I'd lean more towards magic."

"So, I choose A, using mind magic to control the Hulk!"

After a brief analysis, Loki stated his answer to the big screen, "So, I've finished answering the question. What exactly do you want to do?"

Loki glanced at everyone present. He was genuinely curious about what these people were trying to achieve with these inexplicable things.

What would happen next?

[Answer incorrect!]

The system's prompt then sounded.

[Answerer Loki Odinson will be punished by having ten years of his divine power removed, effective immediately!]

With this system prompt, Loki's face immediately showed an incredible expression, his eyes widening uncontrollably.

Because he truly felt that ten years of his divine power had suddenly vanished!

"What did you do?" Loki asked in a deep voice, staring at everyone present with extreme surprise and apprehension.

"No, no, it wasn't you who did something."

However, Loki immediately shook his head, "You couldn't possibly do something like this, not even Odin could do something like this!"

Odin could certainly strip Loki of his divine power, but he couldn't do it so silently, without any trace!

Even if Odin wanted to strip Loki of his divine power, he would need to use magic.

Just like when Odin stripped Thor of his divine power, he cast a spell on Thor in the name of the ancestors.

Yet now, a group of mortals on Midgard had silently caused Loki to suddenly lose ten years of his divine power.

And Loki couldn't see any clues from beginning to end, not knowing how they did it.

This was simply impossible!

So there was only one answer.

After pondering for a moment, Loki couldn't help but cast a shocked gaze at the large screen in front of him.

This quiz, it seemed, was not created by this group of mortals, but by another, more unfathomable, more supreme entity.

This group of mortals and he, Loki, were merely the chosen answerers of that entity!

"Who exactly is it!"

Having figured this out, Loki grew even more astonished. He racked his brain to think of what kind of powerful being could do such a thing.

But after some thought, he couldn't come up with anyone who fit the description.

"Alright, Loki has finished answering. Now it's our turn," Nick Fury's voice rang out, interrupting Loki's thoughts.

"Wait a minute, wasn't this question about me?" Loki immediately interjected, "The question didn't specify that I could only answer once, did it? So I can answer again until I get it right, can't I?"

"You're right, Loki," Tony Stark shrugged and said to Loki with a serious expression, "But everyone answers once, that's our rule!"

"Given your current situation, I sincerely advise you to follow our rules, because we are friends with Thor, and we really don't want to beat you to a pulp."

"But if you insist on making us do that, we won't hesitate to act."

Tony Stark's words were full of threats.

"Fine!" Loki shrugged and didn't argue further.

One answer per person was indeed fair, and for Loki, it was acceptable.

Moreover, while Tony Stark's words weren't pleasant, they weren't without reason. He was like a tiger fallen into a plain; did he have any other choice?

"Good, you're sensible!" Tony Stark glanced at Loki with an "educable" look, then began to speak eloquently.

"Loki has already helped us rule out option A. Option C, Loki defeating the Hulk in a head-on battle, is obviously impossible as well."

On this point, no one had any doubts.

They had personally witnessed the Hulk's combat power, which was monstrous. Even Thor without his hammer might not be a match for the Hulk.

This had already been shown in the relevant footage, where Thor and the Hulk had a major battle inside the Helicarrier.

The Hulk was definitely on the same level as Thor.

And everyone also had some understanding of Loki's combat power, so this judgment was easily made.

"And option B? That's also impossible, because the Hulk has no sanity, so Loki's clever tricks are useless!"

"So this question is very simple, the answer is D, the Hulk thrashed Loki!"

As Tony Stark said, this question was indeed very simple; a brief analysis of the options could rule them out.

"Stark, is there a possibility..." Black Widow, after a slight pause, raised a question, "The Battle of New York happens in the future. Could it be that at that time, the Hulk could already maintain his sanity?"

"Romanoff is right," Nick Fury nodded in agreement, "Through our surveillance of Dr. Banner, we found that Dr. Banner has always been growing."

"His periods of losing control are constantly getting longer. At first, he would lose control about once a week, then once a month, a few months, and last time, he hadn't lost control for a year."

"The Hulk is the same. We've all seen the footage of the Battle of New York. The Hulk even actively saved Stark when he fell out of the wormhole."

"This already shows that the Hulk had sanity at that time."

"If that's the case, there is indeed a possibility that the Hulk could be tricked," Captain America nodded with a serious expression.

However, after a brief thought, Captain America still made the same judgment as Tony Stark.

"But even so, even if Loki really used trickery to deceive the Hulk, he couldn't defeat the Hulk! The question talks about 'defeating.' If it's just tricking the Hulk away, that doesn't count as defeating, right?"

"Exactly, Captain, you hit the nail on the head. The Hulk is unbeatable," Nick Fury nodded seriously.

To deal with the Hulk, unless it's like what was shown in the footage, diverting the Hulk's attention, otherwise, everyone couldn't think of any other way.

In terms of defeating the Hulk, even Thor might not be able to do it, let alone Loki.

If it were an ordinary person, there would still be a possibility of being tricked by Loki's schemes and then killed or severely injured by Loki taking advantage of the situation.

But with the Hulk?

That's not happening.

Everyone had personally experienced how strong and resilient the Hulk's body was.

Even if Loki did trick the Hulk in some way and then attacked him, the chances of hurting the Hulk were slim.

This question was actually not difficult.

"Everyone, are there any more questions about this? Who wants to answer?" Tony Stark glanced at everyone present and asked, "The night vision skill is pretty good."

The only ones who hadn't participated in answering the question were Captain America, Black Widow, Hawkeye, and Nick Fury.

"I'm the commander, you guys need this skill more, so you three answer," Nick Fury immediately shrugged and said to Captain America and the other two.

A skill like night vision was undoubtedly more suitable for active field agents.

In some night missions, it could definitely play an unexpected role.

Giving it to Nick Fury would indeed be a bit of a waste, so the 'Egghead' decisively withdrew from the competition.
