Chapter 149 - Chapter 148: Captain America is also a scientist?

"No, Thor, I wasn't just involved in Vision's creation; I think I spearheaded Vision's creation!"

Tony Stark earnestly corrected Thor's inaccurate statement. "I personally built Vision's nervous system! And what's most important for an AI robot?"

"The nervous system!"

Without waiting for others to answer, Tony Stark emphatically declared.

"Alright, Stark, we all know you're amazing!" Captain America, however, cut in rather unceremoniously. He called everyone's attention, "Let's focus on the question."

Following Captain America's reminder, everyone present also gathered their thoughts, stopped chatting, and began to refocus their attention on the big screen.

They scrutinized the four options on the screen.

"Everyone, who is Vision? He sounds like an intelligent robot?" Dr. Banner, at this point, looked somewhat bewildered as he glanced at Tony Stark and the others.

Hawkeye Barton also looked at everyone in the same way. These two hadn't participated in the quiz before and weren't too familiar with Vision.

"Vision is a very powerful intelligent robot." Captain America briefly introduced the information they currently had about Vision to the two.

"So, first we need to check if there are any scientists among the options." Hawkeye Barton made a very basic judgment.

Then, he looked at option B, "Bruce Banner, he's the only scientist in the options."

"So, Dr. Banner can be ruled out?" Thor immediately glanced at Dr. Banner and said.

"No, no, no… While I have many doctorates, my research topics aren't related to intelligent robots," Dr. Banner shook his head. "I'm actually not familiar with this field."

"I think if someone really wanted to build a robot, I probably wouldn't be involved. I'm not an expert in that area."

"According to what you've said, Vision might be the most advanced and powerful robot in the world, and scientific research is always rigorous. Whoever leads such a project should look for top experts in the relevant field."

"That makes sense. To create a robot of Vision's caliber, if you're not a top industry expert, you probably wouldn't even have a chance to be involved." Hawkeye Barton also nodded in agreement.

"No, Dr. Banner!" Black Widow, however, offered a different opinion. "You just aren't an expert in that field *now*, that's all."

Now, this point in time is still very important.

"Dr. Banner, you have so many doctorates, and your intelligence is no less than Stark's. Do you know what our Director Fury says about you?"

"When you're lucid, you're a genius no less than Stephen Hawking!"

Black Widow continued to speak to Dr. Banner.

"Thank you for your director's exaggeration, that's truly an overstatement… Wait a minute, your director knows me?" Dr. Banner stared intently at Black Widow and asked.

"Nick Fury is the head of the world's largest intelligence agency, and you, Doctor, when you turn green, you're the most formidable monster in the world, so…"

Tony Stark shrugged, "It's nothing surprising, and there's one more thing."

At this point, Tony Stark suddenly remembered something, his eyes gleaming. "Dr. Banner, what you were just discussing was an intelligent robot in the ordinary sense, but what if Vision is a bionic robot?"

A bionic robot?

Dr. Banner was slightly startled. This was an extremely cutting-edge, purely theoretical subject.

It was even more like the product of a brainstorming session; rather than calling it a scientific theory, it would be more appropriate to call it science fiction.

"I also know a bit about you; you're second to none in organic biology. If Vision is a fully anthropomorphic bionic robot, your knowledge would come in handy."

Tony Stark said with absolute certainty.

"A fully anthropomorphic bionic robot, is that even possible?" Dr. Banner questioned.

"Not now, of course, but we're talking about the future!" Tony Stark shrugged. "In the future, I can even build armor that can resist Infinity Stones, so… nothing is impossible!"

"Also, there's one more thing." Black Widow also remembered something. "This project might really be led by Stark, as he said. Otherwise, why would Stark offer up his Jarvis?"

"I don't think Stark would make such a sacrifice for a project led by someone else."

"That's certainly impossible, Romanoff!" Tony Stark nodded in agreement.

"So, it's highly possible that Stark, out of personal friendship, invited Dr. Banner. Aren't you both members of the Avengers in the future?"

Hawkeye Barton also added to the discussion.

After everyone's discussion and analysis, it was entirely possible for Dr. Banner to be involved in Vision's creation.

"So, all things considered, Banner might be involved in Vision's creation; let's keep him as a possibility for now." Captain America summarized everyone's analysis.

Of course, it was only a possibility. No one knew whether he was actually involved.

"Ultron?" Thor now looked at option A. "Isn't Ultron Vision's enemy? Vision and Ultron even went to Sokovia to deal with Ultron."

"Are Ultron and Vision enemies?" Dr. Banner said with a hint of surprise. "Then A can be given serious consideration."

"No, I don't think the relationship between Ultron and Vision is that simple." Captain America, however, shook his head. "In the last quiz, we saw footage of Vision, and he understood Ultron very well, Banner…"

At this point, Captain America even looked at Dr. Banner, "In the footage, you even questioned Vision, saying something like, 'What if you're the monster Ultron wanted to create?' It's possible Ultron was involved in Vision's creation."

"What if you're the monster Ultron wanted to create?" This sentence was full of information and was very much worth everyone's consideration.

At least it indicated one thing: Ultron wanted to create a monster like Vision.

So, did he actually put it into practice?

Did he actually start building it?

No one knew for sure, but for the purpose of the quiz, it was enough for everyone to make a judgment.

"That's right, the relationship between Ultron and Vision isn't that simple." Tony Stark also nodded. "Moreover, Ultron likely possesses an even more advanced AI program than Jarvis!"

"So, theoretically, Ultron has the technology and ability to be involved in Vision's creation!"

"But the question already tells us that Vision is the result of many people working together!" Thor raised a doubt, "Ultron and the Avengers are enemies! Stark was also involved in Vision's creation, so Ultron shouldn't be working with Stark… or even Dr. Banner, to create Vision, right?"

"Not to mention, Ultron seemed to despise Stark so much that he even cut off someone's arm because they mistakenly thought he was created by Stark."

Everyone present began to ponder. Thor's words also made a lot of sense.

Given the relationship between Ultron and the Avengers, it was indeed a bit illogical for them to sit down together and create Vision.

"What if it's like this?" Black Widow pondered for a moment and put forth an idea. "Ultron was originally on Stark's side, and they only later became enemies."

"We all saw in the previous footage that when Stark saw Ultron, he said 'you broke daddy's heart' and so on, and Ultron didn't refute the term 'daddy' at all."

"We all saw Ultron's disgust for Stark, but he still acquiesced to the term 'daddy'!"

"Klaw might be right; it's possible Stark really did create Ultron!"

"It's just that later, for various reasons, perhaps Ultron got a virus, perhaps he developed self-awareness like in some movies… Anyway, he later broke with Stark."

"That possibility can't be ruled out!" Captain America nodded with a serious expression.

The relationship between Stark and Ultron was clearly extraordinary.

Everyone wasn't clear about the exact nature of their relationship at the moment, but all in all, Ultron's involvement in Vision's creation was a possibility and couldn't be ruled out yet.

"Ultron is also a possibility!" Tony Stark also said in agreement. "I think we should focus on the last two options."

"If anyone is most likely not involved in Vision's creation, it's those two."

"One is a veteran from World War II, severely out of touch with modern society, who doesn't even know how to use a smartphone now~ Captain, am I wrong? You probably don't know how to use a smartphone, right?"

"Smartphone, what's that?" Before Captain America could answer, Thor asked curiously from the side.

Everyone: "…"

This one is even worse, isn't it!

"One doesn't even know how to use a smartphone, and the other doesn't even know what a smartphone is!"

"And Vision could be the most advanced AI robot in the world, even more advanced than Ultron!"

"I really can't believe that those two could be involved in the creation of such a high-tech intelligent robot."

"I even suspect that this question might be different from our previous questions. All our previous questions were multiple-choice with a single answer, but I think this one might be a multiple-select question!"

Of course, the multiple-select part might be Tony Stark exaggerating.

But Captain America and Thor were the two strongest "candidates" for this question, and no one disagreed with that point.

"Captain, you wouldn't happen to have some hidden talent you haven't revealed, like, you're actually a scientist too?"

After some contemplation, Black Widow couldn't help but look at Captain America and ask for confirmation.

The others present also stared intently at Captain America; if Captain America gave an affirmative answer, the result of this question would immediately be clear.

It would definitely be Thor.

However, to everyone's disappointment, Captain America shook his head: "No, Romanoff, I'm just a soldier. I know nothing about science."

Alright, everyone still couldn't see the possibility of Captain America.

Then, they could only pin their hopes on Thor.

"Is it possible that Vision isn't purely a scientific creation, and perhaps also utilized some magical means?"

"We've already confirmed that magic exists in this world, and Thor, being a true god, should also know magic, right?"

Hawkeye Barton once again proposed a possibility.

"No, Barton, that flashy stuff is only used by the weak!" Thor directly shook his head and denied it. "My mother once tried to teach me magic when I was a child, but I refused."

"So you don't know magic?" Barton asked for confirmation again.

"I don't know that stuff," Thor said with certainty.

"Is it possible that Thor learned magic in the future, and therefore participated in the magical aspect of Vision's creation?"

Dr. Banner racked his brain and finally managed to piece together a possibility.

"While I think it would be a huge challenge for someone of Thor's intelligence to learn something as profound as magic! Even greater than the challenge for Captain to become a scientist through learning in the next few years, but…"

As soon as he said "but," it indicated that the important part was coming, and everyone turned their attention to Tony Stark.

"Does everyone remember Vision's appearance during the Civil War? He just descended from the sky, hovering in the air. At the time, I was actually wondering how he did it!"

Under everyone's gaze, Tony Stark analyzed with a serious expression, "Clearly, he doesn't have propellers, nor does he have jet propulsion like my Mark armor…"

"Magic! Stark, are you saying Vision's flight might have used magic!" Black Widow's eyes lit up, and she couldn't help but say emphatically.

From a technological standpoint, there are only a few ways to achieve flight, but Vision's flight clearly didn't use any of them.

So, the more logical explanation is that Vision's flight wasn't due to any scientific means, but rather magical means.

"So, it seems Thor might actually have been involved in Vision's creation? The part about magic?" Hawkeye Barton came to a final conclusion.

Everyone looked at each other, and although they still felt it was a bit far-fetched, this possibility was not entirely absent.

Thor, after all, was a god from Asgard and possessed divine power. His mother, brother, and father all possessed extremely powerful magic.

Although Thor didn't know magic now, who could guarantee that Thor wouldn't in the future?

After all, looking at it from any angle, this was more plausible than a veteran from the World War II era becoming a scientist and participating in the creation of the world's most advanced robot.
