Chapter 116 - Chapter 115 Raid on the Nine-Headed Snake Base

Whoosh!

Through the clouds, a Quinjet fighter leisurely cruised.

Inside the fighter, a tactical squad, fully armed and equipped, sat in two rows, each tightly gripping a submachine gun.

Beside the pilot's seat stood a rather peculiar individual.

This person wore a star-spangled costume typically seen on circus clowns and a comical, ridiculous mask.

Adding to that, a black cape, completely out of place with the rest of the outfit, was draped over their shoulders.

A round shield rested by their left foot, and in their right hand, they carried a hammer... Anyone unfamiliar with this sight would surely mistake this person for a madman.

Undoubtedly, this person was Captain America.

Beside Captain America stood Black Widow, clad in a tight-fitting suit.

Black Widow, like a caring older sister, said to Captain America, "Don't worry, Captain, we'll definitely succeed this time."

Black Widow was very confident about this mission; with Captain America's formidable strength and gear, failure was practically impossible.

Even though Nick Fury had assigned them a tactical squad, in their plan, they never intended for those tactical squads to lead the assault.

Those tactical squads were merely for logistical support and cleanup.

The only one truly leading the assault was Captain America, with Black Widow providing support; that was more than enough.

Black Widow simply couldn't believe that a mere HYDRA base could withstand her and Captain America, unless the enemy had a second enhanced individual besides the Winter Soldier.

"Sir, we've arrived at the operational area!"

Just as she was speaking with Captain America, the special agent piloting the fighter reported to Black Widow.

Black Widow and Captain America both perked up.

Without a word, they walked to the Quinjet's hatch, pressed a button, and opened the fighter's door.

"See you later!"

After saying this to Black Widow, Captain America leaped out of the fighter.

"Sir, he didn't bring a parachute, did he?"

The other special agents in the fighter were all startled, and one of them couldn't help but ask Black Widow.

Jumping directly from the fighter like that, wouldn't he be splattered into a bloody mess?

Even if that person was Captain America, the legendary super-soldier, he couldn't possibly survive, could he?

"Yes, he didn't bring one," Black Widow shrugged and replied matter-of-factly, "He doesn't need that thing."

Doesn't need a parachute?

The special agents in the fighter exchanged glances, thinking their superior might have gone mad; Captain America wasn't Iron Man.

Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh!

While the agents discussed whether Captain America had a parachute, Captain America had already spread his Batman-like cape and was gliding through the air.

The electrically stiffened cape was now indistinguishable from a wingsuit, and even easier to control for landing direction.

Thus, draped in his Batman-like cape, Captain America descended majestically through the air.

Before long, a highly concealed secret base appeared in Captain America's sight.

Captain America's spirits lifted, and he began to control the cape, flying towards the base.

On the roof of that base, four heavily armed special forces members were patrolling and keeping watch.

Anyone attempting to approach the base would be discovered by them immediately.

But unfortunately, Captain America was flying down from the sky!

This incredibly audacious method was something no one could have ever imagined.

The HYDRA special forces members had no idea that an incredibly audacious individual was approaching them from above.

Five hundred meters.

Four hundred meters.

Three hundred meters... Captain America was getting closer and closer to the HYDRA base.

It wasn't until he was only about two hundred meters above the base that the special forces members on the roof finally noticed something.

"Look, what's that!"

"Shit, that's a person, we have an intruder!"

All the special forces members were startled, hardly believing their eyes.

What was going on with that person, jumping directly from the sky without even a damn parachute?

Tat-tat-tat-tat!

Though surprised, these special forces members reacted quickly, immediately drawing their submachine guns and firing wildly at Captain America.

At this moment, Captain America hunched his body, pulled his cape behind him, and completely concealed himself within the Batman-like cape.

He then began to free-fall.

At this speed, hitting Captain America was not easy, but there were so many bullets flying that some still struck him.

However, they were all deflected by the Batman-like cape.

Taking advantage of this, Captain America swung the Thor's hammer in his hand.

Crackle!

Several bolts of lightning descended from the sky, striking the special forces members and instantly knocking them to the ground.

Captain America then put away Thor's hammer and held his shield horizontally beneath him.

Thud!

He landed heavily on the rooftop.

With Captain America's abnormal physique, and the shield absorbing the impact, he was completely unaffected, rolling forward smoothly and getting back on his feet.

Then he jumped off the roof.

"Enemy attack! Enemy attack!"

"Beep beep beep beep!"

At this point, a piercing alarm had already sounded, accompanied by shouts and faint footsteps.

Those HYDRA agents were quite quick to react.

Captain America got up from the ground, identified a direction, quickly found the entrance to the base, and then rushed towards it.

But halfway there, a HYDRA special forces member rushed out from inside the base and mercilessly opened fire on Captain America.

Bang bang bang!

The piercing gunshots immediately rang out.

Whoosh!

Captain America was quick-witted; the moment the first special forces member appeared, he threw his shield, knocking the agent to the ground.

After an impossible rebound, the shield automatically returned to his hand.

By this time, more special forces members had rushed out, submachine guns in hand, opening fire on Captain America without mercy.

A hail of bullets immediately surrounded Captain America.

Captain America flicked his wrist again, and the shield flew out once more.

Bang! Bang!

With a perfect "chain shot," two special forces members were taken down.
