Everything clicked in an instant.
Xiao Wu coming to the Heaven Dou Royal Academy with the Shrek Academy group was practically courting death. Her identity could be exposed at any time, so Tang Hao must have been watching in secret. If something went wrong, he would step in and save her.

At the critical instant, he bit his tongue hard. Sharp pain flooded his senses and yanked him back to clarity.
If it were anything else, he could answer. But Xiao Wu's matter was impossible to explain. He couldn't exactly say, "I'm a transmigrator, so I already knew." And making up a believable excuse on the spot was even harder.
So Yu Tianlin chose the only option left.
Refuse.
"Your spiritual strength isn't bad." Tang Hao sounded slightly surprised. "But if you won't talk, then I'll make you suffer a bit."
The world blurred.
