Tina thanked Mr. Lukas with a bright smile and a firm handshake before hurrying toward the elevator. Her heart was racing not with nerves this time, but with pure excitement. She had done it. The internship was hers.
Tina could hardly wait to get home. The moment she stepped through the door, she practically ran to her room, calling out, "Mom! You won't believe what happened today!"
Her mother looked up from her chair, eyes lighting up instantly. "What is it, Tina? Tell me!"
Tina flopped onto her bed, grinning from ear to ear as she narrated everything the interview, Mr. Lukas, the CEO, and finally, the moment she was told she had the internship. Her hands flew in animated gestures, and her voice bubbled with excitement.
Her mother listened intently, smiling wider with every detail. "Oh, Tina! I'm so proud of you! And it sounds like you found a wonderful company to train in. I can tell it didn't stress you at all you were so confident!"
Tina nodded, still glowing with happiness. "Yes, Mom! I actually felt like I belonged there. Everything just... clicked!"
After sharing the story, she changed out of her professional suit into something more comfortable a pair of casual trousers and a hoodie before deciding to head to school. Even in her casual clothes, she felt the glow of accomplishment.
Her mother stood by the doorway, watching Tina leave with a warm smile. "Good luck at school, sweetheart. And remember, no matter what, I'm so proud of you."
Tina waved as she left, her heart still racing with excitement.
By the time she reached her school, she could hardly contain herself. She practically skipped into the classroom, drawing curious looks from her classmates.
"Nancy!" she whispered urgently as she slid into her friend's desk.
"You won't believe what just happened!"
Nancy looked up, puzzled but smiling. "Whoa, calm down, Tina. What's got you bouncing like that?"
Tina grinned, unable to hold back any longer.
"I got the internship! I actually got it! And it's with the CEO! And oh my gosh you should have seen Lukas he was so nice, and the CEO is amazing, and the responsibilities are... oh, I can't even explain!"
Nancy laughed, her eyes wide with excitement for her friend. "Slow down! Breathe! Start from the beginning. Who's Lukas? Who's the CEO? Tell me everything!"
Tina leaned closer, lowering her voice as though sharing a secret, but her hands flew wildly as she narrated every detail—the elevator ride, the interview, the questions, her responses, and finally, the moment Mr. Lukas told her she got the position.
"And then," she said, practically bouncing in her seat, "he told me I'd be working directly with the CEO and his secretary. I'll get to see everything from the very start. I'm going to learn so much, Nancy! Can you imagine?"
Nancy shook her head, laughing. "I can imagine! You're going to be unstoppable! Tina Morgan, the CEO's right-hand intern! I'm so proud of you!"
Tina's cheeks flushed with pride, but her mind was already racing with ideas about how to make the most of this opportunity.
"I just... I can't wait! I feel like this is the start of something really big. And Nancy, I promise I'll share all the juicy office secrets with you well, the ones I'm allowed to!"
Nancy laughed again. "Deal! But for now, don't hyperventilate. Save some energy for class."
Tina nodded, still practically vibrating with excitement, but she managed a composed smile.
